Beetlejuice was standing on a street corner, playing the violin. He wasn't playing badly. It's just the music, despite being upbeat, had a haunted, eerie quality to it. Not to mention, there seemed to be other instruments playing, despite Beetlejuice being by himself. His violin case was open nearby, ready to receive whatever small tokens of appreciation people wanted to give.

Of course, knowing Beetlejuice, music might not be the only thing on his agenda.
