He set his rock down, but still didn't trust any part of it. He easily saw the trap door open, but he didn't even readily trust that. The door itself might not be a problem, but it was under a carriage that was all but in pieces. Something could snap and fall on his head.
Considering that, he cast his spell of protection with a soft, twirling light, and then very cautiously raised some earth around the trap door. If something was going to fall, it would have to hit that, first.
Then he crept through, slipping between the raised mounds of earth and climbing through the trap door.
Down there he lit a fire and started looking around. There was some sort of game room - which seemed like it was a horrible place to have a game room - but more importantly he noticed a well. So, he walked over to it and started pulling up water from it.
