Fascinating~

[The feed opens with a man wearing an obviously foreign yet well-cut suit. Taking a quick look around, he regard the camera briefly before raising it up and moving it to pan the horizon, the setting being Genessia City. Lowering it, he looks into it with a minor tilt of his head.]

Though, likely not for most of you. I found Miss Schnee's explanation hologram thrilling, and wouldn't mind a more intimate discussion with her, given she seems an industrious lady. Ah, though, manners.

[Moving a hand to his left breast, he inclines his head and offers a winning smile for the camera before pushing the bridge of his glasses up.]

Forgive me for the error; I am Arro Caine, at your service. Newly arrived here in this place, and while I would like to enjoy the sights; I do see this is a fine opportunity to mingle among other travelers from even more exotic places than this. I also might inquire to employment.

[This time, the man touches the arm of his glasses as he leans in to observe the camera a bit more seriously, and if one didn't know better, his eyes might almost glow in the faint shadows.]

I am very qualified for medical, scientific, or even teaching work. Alas, my Doctorates did not arrive with me, but I am more than happy field any questions necessary, so please; put me to the test. Though--

[He leans away from the camera now with a wistful smile, moving to take a seat and pointing the camera away from him to watch the sun crawl across the sky.]

--Instead, perhaps someone might join me and watch the clouds as well. It's a new day, and a new place. While that again may not be true for many of you; I would like just a moment to enjoy a simple pleasure with a like mind--[A sigh]--Life always seems so fleeting to not take a moment sometimes.

[Bracken looked like the typical fantasy mage. Robe, staff, and perhaps having eaten a few of those mana restoring pies. If mana had existed on his world. They didn't seem to have a ton in common, but he was taken in when the other man spoke of watching the sky. He liked to sit and watch.]

Th-The forest has lots of pretty spots. They're... They're not always the best to s-see the clouds, but there's lots of, of plants life. A-And ponds. It's pretty during the day.

[He was a big advocate of Fayren's forest, even if it might be dangerous for some. It was comfortable and cozy to him.]

A-Are you a scholar?

Dear me, aren't you a handsome young man~

[The camera swiveled back for Arro to look into now, reaching to adjust his glasses for emphasis of the statement while he focused on Bracken.]

I am indeed a scholar! You aren't here to quiz me, are you? [There's the hint of a smirk forming on his lips now.] Might you instead tell me more of the forest? I'm sure there's a good amount of life there to observe.

[He was too stunned to flush at first, staring in utter disbelief.]

M-Me?

[He glanced around as if maybe someone else could have crept onto the video, but no one was there. Looking back, wide-eyed, he belatedly blushed.]

M-My boyfriend is a lot better l-looking than me.

[It wasn't actually an attempt to dissuade flirting. He didn't plan out things that much. More, he was just brushing the attention from himself almost defensively, since he wasn't sure how to accept that sort of compliment.

He shook his head about the quiz.]

I-I was just wondering if you knew... if you knew scholar spells.

[Since where he was from scholars were a type of spellcaster.

The forest? That was much easier to speak of.]

Th-There's lots of different plants. I've learned about l-lots of the herbs, I could show you. And... And it's nice to sit d-down and relax sometimes.

I'm sure your taste is just as good as your looks~

[Seeing someone shy is always very cute and fun to tease...but he's briefly gotten off-track. Thankfully Bracken is keen on putting them both on track. Arro gave a hum at the clarification before nodding.]

Why, I think it's quite a possibility, I do think there are several types of scholars, we can always review at some point, and it might even be a good case for me to actually practice.

[Yet, his attention is fully given to an invitation.]

Why, I think that would be delightful, there's a lot to study with plant-life, both for simple enjoyment as well as practicality like medicine, and even culinary if one has a talent for it~ We should arrange a date for it.

[He readily agreed with a hearty nod that he had good taste - that was a compliment for Katze - and only a moment later realized it was paired with his looks. It was do odd to be complimented like that. When he looked around he didn't really see himself as someone who was comparable to the people around him.]

B-But you look better th-than I do.

[He attempted to move the compliment away from himself again, almost naturally.]

I... I go to the forest most days for work so... so anytime is f-fine with me. Th-Then we can show each other everything!

[Spells, plants, clouds, whatever.]

[There was a chuckle now, and Arro visibly waved the words off.]

I have a particular eye for beauty; plus we are not talking about myself~

[He quirked an eyebrow, this was definitely an invitation; all he needed to do now was to look into how much travel might cost, and what he was going to do to make money. Still, he could afford a small break before worry.]

Excellent, tomorrow perhaps? ...Today? I am not terribly busy these days, as you might be aware.

[He couldn't really fend off these compliment attacks, and ended up smiling, fidgeting and flushing.]

S-Sure. You... You can come not if you w-want. I'm not doing anything s-special.

[Besides, it would take a while to get there, right? Plenty of time for Bracken to continue his work and find a nice spot.

Or... Arro had no idea the way through the forest. It would be bad if he got lost or hurt.]

Sh-Should I meet you somewhere? Can... Can you get to Fayren?

[He looked pleased with himself at the reaction, though that left his face quickly.]

Dear me.

[The rare unaccounted for thing; Arro didn't know his way around just yet. He pulled up a map studying it with a faint hum.]

South, yes? Yes. Perhaps down 4th Street. I might make a cross at Vibernum so I can take in a bit more... I should~ I think there are not special requirements? I might need a guide once I'm actually in Fayren.

[He listened, somewhat knowing the way. When there seemed to be some uncertainty, he made use of the device more aptly than a fantasy mage probably should be able to.

He sent over some directions, doing his best to make them clear.]

I-I stay at 'The Marsh Woodsman'. Y-You should be able to get there if you have y-your necklace. I can meet you there.

[His smile broadened slightly.]

I-It's a really nice place. And cheap, i-if you need somewhere to stay.

[He was, perhaps, not the most savvy. He didn't have a problem telling this new person where he stayed.]

[Arro looked suitably impressed as he received and read over the directions.]

Praelto bennet-- Very good~ Magnificent.

[Looking up from the directions, he offered a small smile.]

Though, when I meet you at 'The Marsh Woodsman', I might like to address my benefactor by name, my good sir~

[Savvy or not, Arro did not mind. He might at a later time caution him to be less open to unsavory types, but he was certain a small fraction of the populous had dubbed him one of these already.]

[He stared in confusion at the unknown words, unsure if they were something he should be familiar with. It was difficult for him to be sure. Sometimes, it was too embarrassing for him to ask.

On top of that, he shamefully realized he hadn't given him name. How could he forget the most important thing in introductions? He'd gotten so distracted by sightseeing!]

S-Sorry! I-I'm Bracken.

[His demeanor readily dropped into panic mode at his oversight.]

[There is a much fainter chuckle as Arro started moving along his proposed route, and reading over the directions again.]

Worry not so, ser Bracken, enthusiasm is never a wrong choice in life~

[On the contrary, he would very much encourage it in all aspects of life as one never accomplished much just standing around.]

[As if he'd let out a sigh of relief, his panic softened.]

W-Would you like me to meet you th-there now? I, I could drop off what I h-have to work and go.

[It seemed that's what they were doing, but he always liked to double check.]

If you would do me the very great honor of allow me to spend time with you, ser Bracken; I could perhaps even help you with some of your work if need be~

[Yes, by now Arro was sure he was thoroughly interested in this young mage, and had his first subject of study. He already felt as though he was falling into a slight teaching role. Though he was more interested in what Bracken might have to teach him.]

[He finally broke down and chuckled a bit anxiously. He didn't deserve all this put-on-a-pedestal treatment.]

I-It's no big deal...

Do you like p-picking plants? I do a lot of, of it for work.

[He didn't mind any tediousness. It was a simple job that didn't require much thought beyond learning about the plants and the forest.

He was already headed back towards his job to drop off what he'd gotten so far. If Arro would like to help, there'd be no problem with having empty sacks to use.]

*Sonico is always interested when a new scientist comes along, especially considering that her closest scientist friends had recently just disappeared*

A scientist! How nice to meet you, Arro. My name is Sonico.

*Then she gives a kind bow of greeting along with a smile. She might be ready to say something else, but she is distracted by the view he shows on his phone*

Wow...that is a pretty view...

Tut, do not sell yourself short~

[At the question of work, Arro quirked an eyebrow. Not afraid of work, he did want to clarify a point.]

I do not mind, but horticulture isn't my forte. I'm sure after a small demonstration I can grasp it well enough.

[He was hurrying along at a quick pace. It was impossible to be the first person there, but he didn't seem keen on making Bracken wait very long.]

[Pausing very briefly; so few ever seem interested in his passion for the sciences, he returns her smile.]

Well, Miss Sonico, the pleasure is all mine. [He cuts a glance to the skyline once more on her words, and chuckles.] It is quite a view at that.

Though, I might query you on your earlier exclamation if I may?

[He was slow, but he had two major advantages: He was already in Fayren, and he knew the way.

He did stop by his job first, happily going in and neatly putting away the herbs he'd collected so far, before packing up his things and heading towards his 'home'.]

I-It isn't so hard. I learned a-after I started.

[He totally applied for the job not knowing much about plants. But, to his credit, he had studied hard and learned day after day. Now he was familiar with quite a few plants in Fayren.

When he did get to the inn later he stood out in front to wait. Next to him was a wagon with a variety of sacks to hold different herbs in. Maybe it almost looked a little childish, but he didn't care. It was effective, and easier to drag it through the forest than much bigger things like carriages.]

*Sonico nods enthusiastically, clearly more than happy to discuss science with someone, even if they didn't perhaps share the same field*

It's so nice to see another scientist here. There were more - but unfortunately, recently, a couple of the people I knew best disappeared... Uh - but I major in marine biology. Or, at least I do at home... Here I just study.

*Realising she's rambling in her excitement, she pauses to take a breath and smiles kindly*

What's your science field?

[As Arro stepped along the path, following the directions carefully, his heels clicked anywhere there was stone to step on, otherwise he was almost eerily quiet as he came up to the inn. Looking up to spy Bracken and his small wagon, there was a small chuckle as Arro then bowed.]

Ser Bracken, a pleasure~ My, you're quite sizable in real life.

[This was said as Arro was only 5'9" without his heels, and barely equal with Bracken with them. He was also quite thin. Moving to look over the wagon, he gave a small nod.]

Rather ingenuous, I must say! This would make gather much more simple, and you can collect quite a few more. Now then~ I did say I would help you collect herbs, and if you will forgive the pause I've caused in getting here, I am ready.

Dear me.

[There is a chuckle at her enthusiasm, and nods in turn.]

I actually have a lot of time on my hands, so I've taken to a few...but my specialty is probably Genetics. I admit that I need to brush up on my marine biology most likely. What interested you in such a thing?

*Sonico lowers her eyes, somewhat bashful in his response to her enthusiasm. She looks straight back up at the mention of genetics*

Ah...really? That's such a fascinating area, I imagine.

Marine biology...made sense. I've always been in love with the sea, and to think the oceans are full of some incredible living things, some we barely even know about, just beyond our grasp - that's pretty exciting, don't you think?

[Hearing her actually speak makes his smile grow more approving and he inclines his head.]

It can be an interesting chain of events in the day to day-- a bit of humor.

As for exciting? Immensely so, how life evolved to remain in the water given most opted to move into the land, it's a curious branching out. We are lucky that there are a few common links to help us study, but as you mentioned; much lies just out of reach. I'm thankful I have found a like mind here, Miss Sonico~

[In one way, his stockiness and height made him a decently sizable fellow. In another, his demeanor tended to make him seem smaller. He definitely tended to have more weight than most of the people he knew, but he was far from a giant.

He was reserved, but smiled softly when he saw the other man.]

H-Hi.

[Grabbing the wagon handle, he took a step towards him.]

I-It's just something I had, so... so I thought it would be g-good to use for this.

[He held out a small book for him. It was his book about plants which, upon viewing the inside, would be full of detailed pictures and descriptions. He'd used it for quite a while to learn about the plants, perhaps it could help out Arro during their little trip.]
