So last night I turned into a dog.

And yes, before you ask. Pretty sure I was still a ghost.

[Danny grimaces.]

I am really, really hoping that this is not a new ghost power. It was hard enough getting used to being a human ghost.

So... anyone else have a weird night?

Later in the day, Danny could be found wandering around Genessia City and Everglade in the shape of a faintly glowing and rather clumsy terrier. Walking on four legs was hard to get used to, okay?

Unrelated question but sort of related. How do you keep from accidentally phasing through the floor?

Mostly concentration. [Which explained a lot of why Danny had spent the first few months after becoming a ghost randomly walking through furniture, sinking into the floor and dropping fragile objects through his hands. ]

Why?

Concentration on the floor or being a solid instead of a gas? Is it a gas? I don't know. I think I'm an odorless one, in any case.

[ beat ]

Because I must've died or something and went hella spirit-y. I don't know. I guess if you're also a dog there's just shenanigans afoot. What's it like being a dog? Did you go full dog? How do ghost dogs work?

A little of both. You have to remember that the floor is supposed to be solid and you have to remember to think about being solid. All the time. [Danny makes a face.]

It takes a while to get used to it.

...Weird. Maybe something is going on then. [ He shrugs. ] All the way into the dog. But it wasn't quite the same as the ghost dogs I've met before. For one thing, I wasn't green.

Man. This sounds like such a pain in the ass. Can't I just leave the ghosting to you? I'm not even visible half the time.

[ SIIIIIIIGHHHH ]

What kind of dog? My friend was sort of a dog.

Hey, maybe you'll luck out and it'll be temporary.

Some kind of terrier I think? I was really small and I had a lot of hair.

[A black cat with a witches hat walked gracefully along a nearby fence. Dogs weren't exactly her most favorite thing, but this one looked really weird].

You're a funny lookin' mutt.

[Of course, most dogs can't talk either, so she wasn't expecting much]

[It takes Danny a bit of concentration to figure out how to talk. But... dog or not, he was still a ghost. He was still made out of ghost energy. Things like biology and physics didn't always apply.]

Gee, thanks. That's exactly what I always wanted to hear on my first day as a dog.

Huh, first day?

[Blair sat upon the fence, licking a front paw while she pondered briefly]

You're too old to be a puppy~

Usually, I'm a human ghost.

Oh, you mean like a soul!

[Blair jumped down from the fence to get a better look at this strange creature]

Nyaa, you still kinda smell like dog~ [giggle]

No I mean like a ghost.

[He concentrates for a moment, and shifts into his human ghost form. ]

Yeah, what about now?

Much better than that mangy dog!

[Hey, he looked a little like Soul. Now it was her turn. POOF! In a swirl of purple smoke, the black cat turned into a rather voluptuous lady. Blair placed her hands behind her head a little, to show off the good assets, if you will.]

What about me?~

[ A dog?

Adela's attention immediately shifts to Danny, a brow raised before she kneels down near it, frowning thoughtfully. It might be noted that she's clutching a cloak tightly around her body (and her back looks a little deformed under it??) and has sprouted two spiral horns. ]

Hello there... Are you lost?

[ She's not even sure if the dog can understand her, but she can at least get it to the shelter if needed right? ]

[Oh thank goodness, ghost buddy. Exactly who Dairine needed at this very moment.]

Definitely not just you.

[The video isn't showing much, just the ceiling. Dairine is sort of in a fix... and is having a little trouble getting it set up. But Danny might recognize her voice.]

[Yugi couldn't use the device to speak to anyone, he couldn't even turn the phone one due to how it worked and well... being full on ghost all the time kind of stops it from happening. So instead Yugi usually spent his time trying floating around trying to get his bearings.

That was until a rather clumsy terrier. He knew it wasn't the case, but they kind looked like they were drunk. So floating over he went to lean over.]

Do you need help?

[Danny yelps and relocates himself a good five feet into the air. He hastily covers his eyes.]

Please put more clothes on!

[The dog purposefully shakes its head, and slowly scratches a few words in the dirt. ]

Not usually a dog.

Why? Did something happen to you too?

[He sort of recognized the voice. ]

[Now one of the convenient things about being a ghost, was that it was basically just energy. Things like biology and physics didn't always apply. And even if he was a dog now, Danny was still a ghost dog. All it takes is a moment of concentration and figuring out how shapeshift just enough for speech.]

Nah, unless you know any tricks for walking with four legs. And here I thought intangibility was tough.

Poor little boy, haven't you ever seen a real woman's body before?~

....There is no possible response to that question that won't get me slapped by somebody.

[A thumbs up shifts in view of the screen. However, the hand is noticeably see-through.]

Aw, it's okay ghost boy!

[Blair reaches out in a big hug, smothering her new favorite friend in her warm welcoming bosom]

Don't worry about getting me mad, I'll forgive you for every little thing.~

[Danny panics and goes intangible long enough to phase through her arms.]
