Gimme your seeds

Do you know what today is?

Today is the horrible day of the year, where idiots waste hundreds and thousands of pounds of seeds. The tragedy!

This is a public service announcement, save your seeds. If you carve pumpkins or turnips and light them up, save the seeds for the birds. They are edible and delicious and severely underrated.

I will set up a deposit station in all the cities so there will be no excuses! Unless you want to eat them yourself which is understandable and I will give you recipes, thank you.

Why would anyone waste that many seeds on this day in particular?

[ SO CONFUSED. Is it not Halloween? She's heard about candy, and dressing up as ghouls and goblins and the like, but the seeds thing is a new one. ]

Seeds? I'll keep that in mind if I carve up a vegetable. Though aren't pumpkin seeds supposed to be eaten? [She scrunches up her face trying to remember whether pumpkin seeds are indeed good for you.]

They carve up and empty out pumpkins, but only use the shell for jack'o'lanters or the filling for pie.

Yes. Yes they are.

But humans are idiots and often think they're like apple seeds or citrus seeds.

Hm, there is some pastries that use pumpkin seeds, but for the most part...I guess I shall put them aside upon your suggestion.

Also, birds needs water too. Perhaps we shall need a fountain for them to drink.

[Shrugs.] Travelers to different islands or worlds don't have the time to find out all the edible parts of produce. Pumpkin juice, pumpkin spice, and pumpkin flavoring is usually popular, but people forget the seeds themselves.
