Autumn, November 14th - Open For Business
Text & Action - Public
Action - Fayren
Good morning, Genessia. I am Ayame Sasaki. I'm just here to bring news of my tailor shop Atelier Iris, now open for business here in Genessia City. For those seeking bespoke formal and everyday wear, commissioning uniforms or costumes for special purposes and occasions, come on in to the shop or give me a call to set up an appointment. The first measuring is free. The shop is open Mondays through Fridays at 9 to 5:30, and Saturdays at 10 to 3, or by appointment. I look forward to doing business with you.
[ Ayame adds the address , contact number, and an image of the shop's facade before clicking her device off and breathing a huge sigh of relief. She had practiced for that moment for an entire week, and even had a little to drink just to give her some courage to announce her shop's opening in text form. She can't help but feel anxious and excited at this huge moment in her life. She finally owns a business that isn't a cover for her true job as an agent. She was in a swirl of different shades of excitement and anxiety. She still can't believe it all, and deep down she remains feeling hollow despite this huge step forward. Is this really what she wants? She can't even tell anymore, but she wanted to push forward with this decision.
The shop is situated on the ground floor of a townhouse complex, and inside is a old-style interior. She tried her best to make the place as tidy and welcoming as possible, but there's still a lot to work on. Anybody who comes in to the shop would see Ayame trying to fight her anxiety by tidying up the shop; moving things around in a hurry while wearing heels that clack against the hardwood floors. Wearing one of her own creations that perfectly hugged her curves, Ayame would greet her potential customers with a bow a sheepish smile, pushing her glass of whisky behind something ]
O-Oh hello! Welcome. What can I do for you?
Action - Fayren
[ Ayame has gotten through her first day as a business owner, and it all felt overwhelming to her that she felt the need to relax, and work on her commissions later. She wanted to see the ocean; the waves coupled by the feel and smell of the ocean breeze is one of the things in this world that can calm her mind. Where else to go than Fayren?
Sitting by the coast and now wearing something less professional than a skirt suit, is Ayame, with a whole bottle of wine in her hand and just letting the calming seas take over her weary senses. She takes a deep breath when a sound interrupted her meditative state. A whimper from a cat that limped toward her caused Ayame to furrow her brows. She notices the cat had an injured ankle, and her immediate gut reaction was to help it. Ayame lets the cat plop itself beside her, giving its dirtied fur a gentle caress as it whimpers some more. She glances at her own free hand before she lets it hover over the injured feline. Closing her eyes, Ayame created ripples of light around herself as the cat itself reverted back to its healthiest state ]
There... all fixed up.
[ Ayame smiles with a weary glint in her eyes. That took a lot more energy than she expected... But the cat is very appreciative of Ayame's effort, looking much healthier than it did a few seconds ago. That was enough to help Ayame ignore her tiredness. Sensing someone nearby, Ayame looks up to this person ]
Hm? Hello. Is this your cat?

This time it's Ayame that sparks intrigue and so she can't help but go and check it out.
She walks in adorn in clearly military inspired uniform, her neutral expression remaining so as she's greeted.]
Good afternoon, Sasaki. [Pause. A fitting? She just wanted to look around, but then again it would be wrong to come here without buying something.] ... Yes.

Ah, no, it's not. Though I thank you for tending to its wounds. I noticed it a short while ago and wanted to find it again, to tend to it, it seems you've taken care of that and better than I could.
[He smiled and adjusted the strap of the messenger bag on his shoulder. The bag itself appeared to be full of books.]
You are a healer of some sorts?
no subject
no subject
Of sorts.
[ She has healing powers thanks to her Resonance, but she is more of a warrior than a healer. Not that she feels comfortable telling people that now. Ayame just lets the cat rest its head on her lap, rubbing its furry chin on her dress while she pets it gently. ]
Are you?
no subject
No, I wouldn't say that. I know enough to keep myself in one piece. I hoped at least to soothe its pain while I got it to someone competent.
[He would've done that for any animal, within reason, but especially a cat.]
Do injured animals often find their way to you? Or was this an especially lucky tabby?
no subject
Pardon the delay. Life got busy.
I suppose we both just got lucky and found each other. Most stray cats actually avoid me faster than they would avoid water.
[ Back then, they did. Ayame was more intimidating and proud before she retired and became more mellow that even cats felt scared of her. Seeing Trahearne's body language, Ayame looks to him and traded that gentle smile with a look of concern ]
You look nervous, am I strange to you?
[ She wouldn't know if she's the first healer, or even the first human Trahearne has seen with healing powers like that. So she couldn't help but ask just to be sure ]
Pardon the delay. Life got busy.
I know how that goes very well, no prob.
Strange? Not at all, I would expect that I am stranger to you than the other way around. Humans are far more common than those made of plant material, I'm finding out. Provided you are human, I shouldn't assume.
[I mean, who knew really. Plenty of things looked human up until they didn't.]
Um, yes. I hope I'm not bothering you? [Curiosity vs. boundries.]
no subject
[ Ayame decided to not press on the topic of what she is. Is she still human? She doesn't even know herself ]
You just want to stand there? Unless you have other business to attend to, you can come and join me and the cat. What do you think, should I keep him?

[So he did, unhooking the heavy bag from his shoulder and setting it down next to him when he sat by her. He offered his hand to the cat for it to sniff.]
Cats are wonderful companions, I would say yes. He's already fond of you, even better. I have two at home myself.
no subject
Really? I've never had a pet before, so this shall be an interesting experience.
[ Ayame carries the cat with both hands, looking at it trying to wiggle its way out ]
I just have to think of a name for him... What did you name the ones you have?
no subject
Well if you need any advice, let me know. I'd advise protecting your houseplants, cats destroy them. Mine even like to nibble on my clothing. [At least he wasn't made of catnip.]
I didn't name my current cats, well, they came from a shelter. Cookie and Brian. I haven't had the heart to change them. Before I came here, I had three, Leo, Maddy, and Harley.
no subject
[ Enough that it was enough to make Ayame smile ever so briefly, before her expression turned back to her usual neutral one. She lowers the cat back on her lap while her hold on it remains.
She'll have to trim this cat's claws and make sure it doesn't scratch any clothes her massive wardrobe ]
How did you come up with the names for your original three? They sound like names for people.
[ Ayame's mind is more on track with the name Cookie since it's pretty adorable just like her new pet. She's got a vague idea on what to name it now, but she wants to know how Trahearne came up with names and hopefully try to do the same method ]
no subject
Maddy was named after someone I knew when I was much younger. I don't know if she would appreciate knowing that. Harley was given her name on the suggestion of one of my soldiers. He wouldn't explain why but I had no other name for her.
no subject
Hibiki.
[ Ayame squeezes the cat's cheeks, smiling briefly ]
I'm going to name you Hibiki.
[ Ayame looks at Trahearne. He may think he's not the best at naming, but she did what he did with Leo in coming up with Hibiki's name ]
It's the name of my favorite blended whisky back where I came from. This color of this cat's fur had reminded me of it.
no subject
Pity I forgot to bring treats for the strays, I might have made a friend with your Hibiki today. I'm glad he'll have a good home.

[ Ayame sighs and rest her chin on her hand. Admitting that out loud is kind of depressing ]
Who might this friend of yours be? I may not hire him, but it might benefit us both if we know each other.
no subject
[ Beat ]
What do cats normally eat?
[ Not off to a good start ]
no subject
I make food for my cats, but bagged or canned cat food is easy enough to find in stores. In Genessia city at least. You'll want a litter box, litter, and toys to keep him entertained as well.
Re: [Video]
"Ah, must be peaceful. Sounds perfect for him. Though then again he does like to meet and greet; perhaps he'd like the bustling crowd of a bazaar.
It's Amalu! He's hard to miss. He has these lovely desert robes always, with dark brown skin and purple eyes. Incredibly tall, too. At least seven feet or so. Can't speak, but an adept texter. No doubt he could watch the store for you while you're out bounty hunting; my compliments, on that, by the way, I appreciate those efforts very much." [Even if he wishes women didn't have to fight, he can't look a gift criminal in the mouth.]
no subject
Okay... That should be easy.
[ And then she looks unsure again, on what it was or if she even wants to ask. But she will do anyway ]
But what is a "litter box" for? I apologize if that seems like a stupid question. I have a lot to learn, evidently...
no subject
Hrm. [How to politely explain that?] Cats prefer to bury evidence that they've relieved themselves, so will use a litter box to do so instead of dirtying your home. It's something you'll have to be okay with cleaning.
no subject
[ Ayame looks at Hibiki with a frown, with the cat just looking away and not caring about his new master's lack of knowledge ]
I mean... I could perhaps use my power to- Oh no, that might seem immoral...
[ Mentally rewiring Hibiki with her psionic ability to immediately know how to use the toilet seems like tampering with the natural state of things. ]
no subject
What seems immoral?
no subject
[ Ayame sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose ]
The thought of using my power to, how should I say this... "influence" their natural instincts so I wouldn't have to train them.
