[There were illustrations, hand drawn a long, long time ago with handmade ink. Some of the flowers and herbs were familiar. Saint Johns Wart, yarrow, fennel. Some of them had been gone a long, long time. There were a few ancient pressed flowers in the pages, long ago having lost scent or potency, they were just pretty now]
