I had imagined not taking vengeance for its own sake in order to help someone else would be a good thing. It should not feel horrible or like I did something wrong, and yet it still does.

I wish to ask what you would have done; if confronted with someone who brought you great harm in the past, one who you know had the capability of doing so again, would you be able to walk away? Would you be satisfied with it? Is it even right to let them be?

The first time, I did not even consider the law. I do not think I did, at least.

[Now he just gives a cold glare.]

We're not talking about the first time. We're talking about the next time you encounter this enemy of yours.

I do not know what I would do or if I would have any regard for law again or not.

[He just lets out a weary sigh at this point.]

There's a dragon in my clan who's experiencing similar doubts and regrets. She blames herself for what happened to our home because she was too afraid to stop him. Unfortunately, resolving her doubts and fears is not something I can help her with. Nor can I help you with yours.

[He's not planning to go into the details of the clan's situation in Sornieth, but in his case, the whole world is at stake, and they truly cannot afford to hesitate with this enemy.]

My only advice would be, when you think of whether or not to destroy your enemy, ask yourself this: Can you afford not to?

[ There's a pause of a few minutes where Adela is looking over the video, trying to think over this dragon's meaning before he gets a response. ]

I do not know. I wish I had an answer, but I do not. At that time, it was a grudge of the past driving me, nothing more. I do not know if in a different situation my actions would be the same.

[His facial expression falls flat again.]

A grudge of the past is as good a driving force as any, so long as it helps you do what needs to be done.

Just how dangerous is this enemy? How many would they kill if they continue to live? Would they destroy the entire world?

[Just a minor curiosity, since that's the scale of the clan's troubles back home.]

Before, I would have said that they would kill many if they continued to live. Now, if they were honest, I could not be sure if they would bring any more harm again.

[His expression softens. He's been through that situation as well, with Decilla. Despite her efforts to kill off the clan, she was such a fool that he couldn't help but pity her.]

Perhaps you hold some hope that they would redeem themselves. I've done that before, so it's not entirely unreasonable...

If I am to do that, I suppose all that is left is to wait for enough time to pass without him acting. That really is all I can ask, if only for my own selfish peace of mind.

Fair enough. And I assume you would find it easier to pass the time in this world than I would...

It would be ideal if it were so simple as that.

Hmm...I'll admit, I may not be the best at giving advice. I'm an Ice dragon, so emotions do not affect me as they would most others. Sometimes I wonder how emotions can affect others so drastically, but I generally conclude that it's just in their nature. Some don't particularly like my ways all the time, and I suspect that sentiment will be even stronger in this world. At least...I don't plan on intervening with the lives of these...humans...or any other species that live in these cities...

If it is not to bold, I am actually quite surprised that you responded as well. Most magical creatures I know of stay away from the affairs of humans as much as possible.

I am grateful regardless. I need to take some time to think over everything that has been said and done for now.

Hmm...I would tend to stay out of the affairs of others as well. You could say I was bored...or that humans are still unfamiliar to me, so I'm trying to learn more about them.

I wish you luck in that then, I know there are many who would be happy to speak with you over it.

It seems strange...I'm used to every other species hating dragonkind. I'll see what I can do about keeping this...precarious peace...

If it helps, I am not entirely human even if I may appear to be so. But that aside, I have my own reasons to hold judgement on a dragon before meeting him or seeing his actions, though I can only speak for myself on this matter.
