WHO: Professor Sycamore and Sonico
WHERE: Garden Parks Apartment
WHEN: A few days after the Mack Invasion in Fayren
WHAT: Sycamore visits his neighbor while having a burn on his back.
WARNINGS: Other than mentioning of an injury, no.

It was a crazy week for the Pokemon Professor, not to mention a close call for him. After he managed to defend most of the streets in Fayren, he had to spend a day in the hospital to take care of the first-degree burn he had in his back, which he got right when he protected a resident from one of the creature's fireball attack. While he can admit it was a foolish move, he was glad that he made a right choice as he felt that letting them take that fireball would be heartless.

Right now, Professor Sycamore had to skip work for three days in order to recover from his injuries. However, he decided to use his free time to visit his neighbor for a while. The last time he saw her was that last incident where people were split into two and when he saw her video, he can tell that she was once a victim of it. But at least she allowed him to keep the items he got from her charity drive.

Once he knocks the door to her apartment, he then says to her if she opens it, "Good morning, Sonico. Hope I didn't interrupt anything."

Sonico might be heard singing to herself in her apartment as she goes around cleaning. She doesn't take long to answer the door, opening it and holding a duster in her hand in her casual clothes. She smiles brightly when she sees Sycamore. "Good morning! Not at all - I was just doing some spring cleaning! How are you? Would you like to come in?"

Once he sees Sonico and told him about what she was doing, Sycamore just smiled that despite it's just another apartment she rented, she always managed to keep it clean.

"I'm fine and I would love to."

As he entered her apartment, he might ask about her day. Yet once he tries to sit on a sofa or a dining chair, he quickly winces as he starts to feel the pain of the burn on his back when he leans on the back.

Of course Sonico had invited him straight in, and suggested that he followed her to her kitchen so that she could prepare some tea for him. When he winced like that when sitting on the chair, Sonico stopped what she was doing at once. "Sycamore! Are you okay?"

Maybe visiting Sonico while recovering his injuries wasn't a good idea as she stopped making some tea intended for him in order to rush to his aid.

"Maybe I spoke too soon... I'm okay, but I can't say the same to my back."

If Sonico checks on his back, she can see a bandage covering most of it where his burn is.

"Your back? What happened?" Sonico bit her lip and glanced round at Sycamore's back without taking a proper look - that would be rude without proper permission, after all. "Is there anything I can get for you?"

Considering that he accidentally revealed his injury, he might as well tell her what happened.

"When I tried to visit Fayren, these strange creatures attacked. One of them tried to attack a passerby with a fireball, but I intervened. However, I didn't get out of there unharmed."

He felt bad making Sonico worry about him, which is one of the reasons he didn't want to tell her the truth. "I think something to soothe my back would be nice."

Sonico looked a little more grim at the mention of the creatures, nodding her head slowly. "I understand. They got to me to. Though, thankfully, there were people stronger than me nearby, so I was safe."

She quickly finished making the tea and patiently put the things in front of him before going to the freezer to get some ice. "If I wrap this up, it shouldn't hurt too bad..."

So she was also attacked by these strange creatures as well. While he is worried about how she endured that experience, he was relieved to here that she escaped without any severe injuries.

If Sonico puts the said ice on his bag, Sycamore quickly feels a sting on his back once more. But afterwards, the pain disappears as he sighs in relief.

"I see. But did you escape there unharmed? You didn't get hit by a fireball like me?"

Sonico stands at his side, moving the ice very gently over different patches of his skin. "Help yourself to the tea things, if you don't mind." Because it was kind of difficult for her to cool his skin while making the tea at the same time.

"Yes. I was unharmed. A couple of little bruises but nothing worse than that. I'm sorry to see that this happened to you..."

He became relieved to hear that Sonico escaped with only a few scratches as he took the tea and sipped a few times. Despite feeling a few stings as she moved it very gently on his back, he managed not to drop his cup in the process.

"Don't worry. If I didn't, I doubt anyone would survive that attack. Besides, I have Garchomp by my side to fight alongside me against those creatures."

Eventually, Sonico stops with the ice before it starts to melt and she goes over to the sink to get rid of everything. Then she sits down at the table beside him, "I'm glad...but I hope you look after that wound. It's quite serious. You should probably keep your shirt off to help it heal." Then she blushes a little, hoping that didn't sound too rude.

Well, removing his shirt sounds like it's a good idea, but he worries that she might see him half-naked.

"Are you sure? I can just remove it back in my apartment."

"Oh!" When Sonico thought about it...maybe it wasn't the best idea right now. "Yes. I mean. When you are in your apartment..."

At least Sonico understands his reasons why. However, mentioning about that said invasion made him wonder about something.

"Now that I think about it, where do those red-robed creatures come from? They didn't just appear out of nowhere like that."

Sonico shook her head slowly as she poured herself some tea, "I'm sorry, I really don't know. I hope they aren't troublesome again..."

Once he heard her answer, his expression grew dim as he continues to wonder about those creatures.

"Regardless, I doubt we've seen the last of them. I just hope the people in Fayren will have to put up more defenses in case this happens again."

"I see now why some people have warned me about going out to these places alone..." Sonico smiled a little sadly and shook her head as she sipped on her tea. "I hope the people there are safe."

"I could say the same. But for now, let's leave the City Guardian and the others to clean up the mess from that invasion."

But when he sees her smiled sadly, he just put his hand on her shoulder and says, "Don't worry, I know they will be safe. I promise.

"Hmm. That's a good idea. I know people will be working hard to protect the city." Sonico smiles and puts down her cup of tea, looking up in surprise when his hand touches her shoulder. She soon relaxes into a smile and nods, "So long as you keep yourself safe too."

He nodded in agreement since he starts to aware the dangers in this world if he's not cautious. Also, he already knows how an attack from a non-Pokemon felt like.

"I will."

But upon looking the time on his watch, he realized that he overstayed his welcome as he stood up and says, "I should probably head back to my apartment now."

Unfortunately, he quickly feels another sting on his back due to moving his back.

"Oh -" Sonico put down her empty cup and stood slowly. She held a hand out towards him when he stood quickly, in case he needed any help. "If you're sure. But please, let me know if need anything. I'll be happy to help."

"Okay, I'll be in my apartment the whole day until my burn is healed."

With Sonico's help, he heads to the door and waves goodbye at her neighbor.

"Thank you again and please make sure to be careful."
