[It had been a couple days since the whole Koishi incident, and Ragyo was once again before Genessia looking rather unamused.]

I feel it is prudent to offer an apology of sorts to the citizens of both Nova and Genessia cities. The recent attacks are partially my fault, I'm afraid. The garment the girl - Koishi I believe - was wearing was made from a material native to my world. In moderation, they can grant strength and durability to humans. Most people can only withstand a garment with up to 30% of the make up being that material. Unfortunately, some of that material was stolen from me during a business trip in Nova City, where it was experimented on and forced onto the girl.

I want to state beyond a shadow of a doubt that Koishi was not acting under her own volition. The garment had complete control of her, and she should not be held responsible for her actions during that time.

I have apprehended the culprit that stole the material and caused the attacks, along with evidence linking him to the theft beyond a shadow of a doubt. I would like to meet with you to discuss exactly what happened, at the earliest convenience.

[Yikes. To think that a garment was capable of making a person go crazy like that. She just lets out a weary sigh after the announcement.]

I suppose humans simply cannot be artificially augmented without a price, can they? It's just a matter of whether the benefits outweigh the risks...

Though I am curious about one thing. How did you manage to gather a material that's native to your world here in Genessia?

[ Weiss is more than a little concerned about this revelation- and not just because of the Koishi factor. She has questions about someone who was trying to sell her on outfits suddenly having evidence that outfits were causing things like that. It's little wonder she's short about it initially. ]

Humans can. Koishi however is far from human. The experiments that were forced on her were far from appropriate and should never have happened.

As for the origin of the material, I have one of those sub-archways where I had a sizable stock.

[Not entirely sure if she buys it, considering the statement that most people can only withstand 30% of that material make up. And as far as Karla knows, most people are human.]

Of course, the subarchways. I had heard of those, but haven't looked too deeply into them.

[ Uhhhg. Weiss's face falls. ] You do realize that's a crime itself, Mrs. Kiryuin? You're not licensed to apprehend criminals.

They can be quite the windfall.

Yes, I'm aware. And with all due respect, I did not have the time to apply for such a license, nor do I intend to make a career of it.

He stole from me, something I have undeniable proof of, and was endangering the lives of many with his reckless research. I will gladly take whatever punishment you deem fits the crime if it means preventing another incident like this.

With all due respect, the law doesn't change because you didn't make time for it and you aren't more important than anyone else in this city that you being stolen from garners special privileges.

[ You can't just say "with all due respect" and expect it to mean anything if you're straight up saying you're above the law, Ragyo. ]

We'll look at your evidence and be doing an investigation via the Guardian's office aside. Where are you right now? There's no reason to wait for this meeting if you're holding someone prisoner against their will in a manner that frankly could be considered excessive before they've been tried or convicted of a crime.

[She gives a light shrug.]

I suppose it can be, for some people...

[She studies the woman for a moment before vaguely remembering something.]

...Come to think of it, you were advertising services as a tailor before, were you not? I can only imagine the negative effect an incident like this would have on your business...

At the moment I'm only a private contractor. Besides, I've dealt with this sort of thing before, it won't make much of a difference in the long run.

I stressed that he stole from me, because it was my problem to fix. Had I not acted when I did, given the access he had to non-humans, it's likely the fallout could have been infinitely worse.

I will be en route to your office in a minute. Though I wouldn't say it's excessive really. There are many in my world that would pay a fortune to be given this sort of treatment. He is quite comfortable.

[There's a bit of amused surprise in her expression and tone.]

So this material is really that special?

Oh...how...fascinating...

[She sounds just as sarcastic as she does confused.]

[After she receives the message, Satsuki finds herself stunned in silence. It goes without saying that she's annoyed- Actually, annoyed is an understatement, but the private message after makes her cringe.

She taps her finger on the table, as she has absolutely no idea how to properly approach the newer problem; maybe she'll just have to let Ragyo deal with Weiss on her own. Even Satsuki can't hide the annoyance she's feeling- it's all over her face.]

'Him'? Not 'her'?

[Safe behind the privacy wall of the filter with Satsuki, Ragyo seems far more relaxed, leaning back in her chair with a cup of tea in hand.]

Ah, I was wondering when you'd finally greet your mother. I was starting to wonder what could possibly be more important than our mission.

Speaking of, Nui tells me you've made remarkably little progress on that front, despite having access to the manor. Why is that?

[Yeah just... going to dodge that question.]

The short version is that I had recently returned from another mission- I serve as a deputy in Nova City.

[And she clearly doesn't sound very proud of it.]

And Nui has a habit of glossing over anything that doesn't satisfy her short-term interests. I'm sure she neglected to tell you she needed to make a sacrifice to open her subarchway.

Aside from that, as it stands, the resources of the manor are of little use to the world of Genessia in my hands. I decided to build my reputation in a manner that I could manage on my own. I must confess; you make it appear far simpler than it actually is.

See, that's not how the law works. Anywhere. The correct action would've been to report the crime so the actual authorities could handle it.

No, stay where you are and tell me your location. I just said I'm coming to you, and that's what's going to happen. You don't have the authority to transfer prisoners. I'm going to come to you.

[Ragyo sighs, shrugging a bit. She has no reason to doubt Satsuki, and in the absence of evidence will take her word on the matter, even if she was expecting some sort of double cross eventually. It would be what she would do if their roles were reversed after all.]

Very well. I am glad you returned when you did. You made quite the show of stopping that Koishi girl. I was almost afraid I would have to step in.

You're obviously unaware of how the law works in my world then.

[Not that Weiss is necessarily wrong... just in her world, Ragyo is the law.]

[And while she waits, she'll be sipping on a cup of tea, feet propped up on her hostage, seemingly unaware of the looks she's getting from the others.]

This obviously isn't your world so what your laws are are irrelevant.

[ And she has no intention of letting Ragyo become the law here so that won't change.

Yeah, Ragyo has done nothing to endear herself to Weiss whatsoever. For a little while she thought maybe, but honestly? So far the impression she's getting is that Ragyo is a self-important, conceited criminal who thinks she's above the law and above treating others with dignity. The kind of person her father would get along with well, and the kind of person Weiss can't stand. When she sees Ragyo with her feet on her hostage, she looks more than irritated. ]

[Given the circumstances, Satsuki is forced to put.. A lot of her plans on hold. In fact, at the moment she's convinced she actually needs Ragyo and so is willing to put up with the trouble she's gone through thus far.

Granted part of the decision was made thanks to the fact that people don't actually stay dead here so.. There is that.]

Given your pace, I only wish I had returned sooner to get you caught up on the important details. The world of Genessia can be.. Trying.

[The mention of Koishi makes her frown again; for now she has to try not to take it personally.]

I presume you have obtained data on the life fibers effects on youkai? I had always suspected the effects would be negative, but not to that scale.

[Ragyo sighs, giving off the air of a parent humoring a child as she gives the foot rest a nudge with her foot, causing him to roll a little bit. She then very slowly finishes her tea before complying with the hands on the table request.]

Yes, Nui says that her data is quite remarkable. For obvious reasons I have yet to see it just yet, but once this whole fiasco blows over I'm looking forward to seeing the results myself.

A world where humans and non-humans live together... who would've thought such a place was even possible? It will take time, but this will undoubtedly be for the good of all.

I see. Well then the only advice I can provide at this time is to avoid getting on Weiss Schnee's bad side. She has an impressive amount of influence on Genessia as a whole- arguably the most of all the Guardians.

[There's another pause as she crosses her arms.]

Mother I confess I am uncertain what you are suggesting but if I may; it has been my goal since my arrival to find a way to return home- Beings appear and disappear in the blink of an eye. There are little facts known about the specifics of this place and even fewer people that are capable of gathering intelligence. I agree that, scientifically, it is all fascinating but...

It is of my opinion that the world of Genessia is too volatile to pursue much aside from seeking a means of escape.

Humans were a volatile race when Life Fibers first came to Earth, and yet they chose us to bestow their greatness to. This is no different. After all, if we are to spread Life Fibers, wouldn't it be prudent to give those trapped here the joy of being worn by Life Fibers? Simpy denying them is a torture I cannot stomach.

A way to our world will open in time, Satsuki. And when we return, we will have an army clad in the embrace of Life Fibers to truly show the pigs of our world the futility in resisting their majesty.

She won the most votes of Genessia's denizens. Guardianship is an electoral position.

[There might be the faintest trace of jealousy in Satsuki's tone. As for the rest of Ragyo's words, Satsuki can't help but feel a chill up her spine.

I.. Suppose you are correct. I may have been projecting my numerous frustrations during my time here; my apologies.

I think the dignity and basic respect even criminals are legally entitled to begs to differ, Mrs. Kiryuin. You're under arrest for unlawful bounty hunting, kidnapping and assault, disobeying an officer of the law, and obstruction of justice in the pursuit of evidence for a criminal case.

[ And then Weiss is going to read her her rights in Nova City, blahblah enjoy the hardlight handcuffs. Some robot police come in after that to escort Ragyo to a hover car and Weiss begins attending to the other potential suspect in this case, working to get him upright and unbound and informing him that he absolutely has a right to file a complaint for public humiliation and slander if they are unable to provide untainted evidence against him in a court of law, but that he would need to come in to be interviewed as a suspect. Unfortunately because of the way the law works, literally any of the evidence that Ragyo provided is tainted and 100% useless because that's how the law works and you can't just have some random civilian collect and preserve evidence, especially if they're both incredibly bias and also the only other primary suspect and victim. ]

I will concede the bounty hunting charge, but do not be surprised when the rest of those turn out to not be what you think they are.

[And Ragyo will offer no resistance to being cuffed and led to the car. However, as soon as the ribbon is removed from the "victim's" mouth he starts to plead with Weiss to not press charges, explaining that while Ragyo was looking for him, he was equally looking for her after he had seen the destruction his experiments had caused, going so far as to voluntarily write up and sign a full confession and even taking a lie detector test to prove Ragyo wasn't somehow blackmailing him.]

[And she's not blackmailing him. She's just pulling his mind's strings.]

I am surprised you weren't running for the position. How long are these terms?

[Yeah she may or may not be thinking of running now.]

You are forgiven. I remember what it was like being your age. Patience isn't easy, but it is rewarding. One must simply step back and see the bigger picture.

[Of course Ragyo is so busy looking at her big picture she doesn't even realize Satsuki has been doing this all her life...]

Oh, one more thing. One of Nui's assistants is taking the fall for all this. He will be offering the guardian everything she needs for a full conviction. I will be capitulating to the guardian's 'charges' of illegal bounty hunting so whatever punishment that entails I will submit willingly. Do not try to sway her on my behalf. I want this to be tied up with as neat a bow as possible. Anything to keep her from digging too deep into the matter before it is time to move.

I think you did all of the things that I listed and whether or not this man is innocent or guilty won't change any of that.

[ This guy is freaking weird and whether he's lying or not.. honestly, she can't change the fact that Ragyo admitted to doing the things she listed and it's a fact that she made evidence inadmissible. ] The law is the law, whether or not either of you want to admit that.

[ But since he did confess, she does have to arrest the guy instead of just asking him to come peacefully, so she does. ]

To make a long story short, it was not by choice. The terms are six months long.

[Satsuki is silent for a moment, as she takes in the rest of that information.]

Though, if I may, I would like to request to avoid using my employees as test subjects.

[She kind of thought that went without saying.]

[Ragyo jots down a note off to the side before addressing Satsuki again.]

Yes, that was Nui's idea. I will pass along the request but you know how she can be. Half the time I don't know what she's doing until she's done it.

[Not that she particularly cares...]

Is that so. If that is the case I rescind my request; the last thing I need is for her to believe I go 'running to mother' when things get difficult. I will gladly tell her myself.

[It can't be seen but her hands tighten into fists.]

[Just have a shrug. It really didn't bother Ragyo either way.]
