Tannusen... actually, for once, turned his head away from the kiss before Cassian could make contact.

Yep, 'stuff'. Stuff he's well aware the priest won't want near his mouth.
Same reason he won't dare kiss the man like he so desperately wants to, either. Even after that glass of water.
