[Action/Closed] The employee/employer dynamic
Who: Dr. Flug and Black Hat
What: Two evil geniuses doing evil genius things
When: Tonight
Where: Genessia City
Warnings: Dark themes and emotional manipulation
The reverse engineering of the magics on the wraith weapon had taken time and effort. Enough that they were only a fraction through the needed research of the weapon's spell make-up and structure. This long-term research and development wasn't something Flug was used to. Still, the challenge was exciting for the doctor. Except Black Hat demanded results. This lead Flug to this extreme test. Part of the spell matrix was decoded and perhaps it was enough to at least trap one of those monsters.
The only thing needed was bait. Which is where Flug came in. He was in the middle of the array crafted around him along with a metal box between his feet. He shook as he stood there and watched for one of the wraiths. They were attracted to emotions, right? This meant he was the perfect bait. He was full of emotions and he was alone in the middle of the night. He just needed to wait. Soon enough, a wraith appeared. The glowing orb in its center and the wilted flower was visible, along with its ghostly and terrifying visage. Flug watched as it came right for him. He just had to wait for the signal to move.
He had to trust in Black Hat. There was a no death clause in his contract. His boss wouldn't let him die here, right? He couldn't. That didn't mean he wasn't going to walk away from this untouched. He flinched and covered his head with his arms at the last moment. Panic set in and exploded deep inside him.
"B-BLACK HAT SIR!" He cried out in terror. Please for the love of Cthulhu, don't let him die here.
