genessia | Bodyguards Needed! [ Video

Good Evening.

As Mayor of Nova City, I am entitled to hire two bodyguards of my choosing for my personal protection. Any who are interested, please contact me at your earliest convenience. This position requires the following:

1. Combat experience. I am open to a variety of forms and weapons training, however since it is a security position, you must be a proficient fighter.

2. Flexibility of hours. This is a full time job. In addition to working while I am in my office, I will require security detail whenever I leave my penthouse, as well as any events that I, as Mayor, must attend.

3. Loyalty. It is imperative that I know that I can trust you with my life - literally. As I am new to this world, I am obviously not familiar with all of you, however my daughter and current Guardian of Nova City, who many of you know, will be helping me hand select my bodyguards.

4. Attention to detail. At any moment there could be an attempt on my life or the office as a whole. I need people who are extremely vigilant to ensure that these events never come to pass.

5. Adulthood. Apologies to any aspiring minors, but this position is far too dangerous for children. You must be an adult to apply.

[... oh. Oh, this is too good. This is something he could easily take advantage of, and frankly? Gale couldn't pass up the chance. Sure, it might be an endurance test for Gale on "How Long Can You Really Tolerate Jacques For Without Committing Murder" and following orders from Jacques would be a complete and utter nuisance, but... the pros may outweigh the cons here.

Kharon hasn't seemed to have personally insulted Jacques yet, so maybe...]

[ Well. This is a wonderful opportunity!

Neo takes the initiative and just heads to the Mayor's Office, where she leaves her resume with a secretary. At first, they seemed skeptical of her applying for the job (it's the height...), but looking over her credentials they can see that there's something more to this young woman. The resume includes her picture, as well, for reference.]

[Jacques's been glancing over applications for the past fifteen minutes. It was amazing how many people applied that didn't meet the basic qualifications he had listed. He flips to the next one and - wait a minute, he knows this girl. She was the supportive young lady that preferred to text. A strange quirk, but she seemed loyal enough. It couldn't hurt to interview her, right? He'd pass the application over to Weiss later to make sure that she wasn't some sort of criminal before he made the final decision, though; hiring a known criminal could only hurt his reputation, and he had only just started to grow it.

He shoots her a message.]

Miss Neopolitan, I saw you've applied for the bodyguard position. Are you available to come in for an interview later today?

[ If Weiss tells him she worked with Roman, Neo would just deny it and ask for proof. All they could prove is that she protected him, so technically, she was his bodyguard. Plus, she kept her nose clean while here. ]

Greetings Mayor Schnee. Yes, I'm available for an interview. Please let me know the time and place. Thank you.

[ Being polite makes her feel icky all over. ]

[Of all the people - well, he's certainly not the most irritating person he knows.

But did it have to be rapiers? He already has a brat that uses those in his life.]

If you'd like to audition we can set up a meeting. Are you able to send me a copy of your resume listing your educational and professional background in the meantime? Cover letter optional but preferred.

[He's really regretting not having placed an education requirement on the position - this guy's verbal skills are cringe-worthy.]

[A prompt response! Very promising.]

Perhaps two days time around noon? There's a bistro across the street from my office. Why don't we meet here and then we can discuss things over lunch?

[ Normally he would just meet someone at the restaurant, but this is an interview for a bodyguard, and he needs to see how she operates when he's out in public; there will be quite a lot of that while he's in power. ]

[ Enough time to scout the area, then. Good. ]

I'll be sure to be prompt.

[ Jacques leaves his office just before noon and heads over to the bistro. He had his secretary make a reservation for him so the hostess greets him with a smile and leads him to a table - outside. It's risky since he doesn't have anyone keeping an eye on him yet, but again, he has to make sure she can handle it.

He checked in with Weiss after he and Neo set this up to see what his daughter knew about the young woman and her reviews weren't stellar. Attacked her friends, not a good person, don't trust her, et cetera et cetera. But if she's against Weiss then she can't be all that bad, right? ]

[ Neo was already there before noon, but stayed out of sight with a disguise. She passes by the bistro a few times with a few different identities, scoping out the area and security. There are a few entrances, and she even sees a few body guards at the infrequently passes ones. Impressive.

Once noon struck, Neo heads into the bistro in her original guise, showing the front staff her ID card. If she's expected, then they should at least know what she looks like, right? It's not like she can just tell them her name... ]

[Jacques had luckily had the forethought to have his secretary mention that the arrangement included a mute girl named Neo, so the hostess would have no problem leading her to the table. When Jacques spots her, he stands to greet her and holds out a hand for her to shake.]

Miss Neopolitan, it's nice to meet you. Thank you for coming out today.

[ She extends her own hand to shake his, her grip a firm as any other full sized warrior. Her smile is friendly enough, and her umbrella hangs on her other forearm. With the soft carpet, the sound of her shoes are muffled as she goes over to pull out the seat for him to sit.

They're not gonna stand and talk all day, right? ]
