Rose laughed sadly, but leaned against Amy, more grateful than she could express. "Yeah. Yeah. Only the best," she sniffled, and hugged Amy hard. "You're the best too," she nudged Amy's arm with a small fist. "I gotta... I gotta run for a few hours. Hang out with someone... I don't know someone I just have to fake smilin' for, or really smile for, but that way I can face him again. He's gonna see through it anyway, but I gotta try." She rubbed her eyes with the fist again. "Protect him for me, okay? He won't be sad forever, he just has to get through it." She rubbed her eyes more and sniffled, "I wish you coulda seen him dancing with me and Jack. He was so happy then. He used to make me laugh so hard. There were days we just couldn't stop laughing and I couldn't tell ya what we were even laughing about! And Queen Victoria and Harriet Jones both told us off for it, but it never stopped us. Always kept jokin'. Gods... even at Torchwood, when cybermen and daleks were against each other, we were jokin' about ghostbusters and cracks and..."
Another sniffle and she rubbed her eyes. "It'll be okay. It's just... gonna be rocky. Yeah? Keep him safe until I can get there. Because I can't yet... first time I just... can't."
