how to intro a cell phone hating character
Who: Black Jack and YOU [aka open log]
What: New arrival
When: August 20th
Where: The Bay - Genessia City
Warnings: Grumpy patchwork luddite of a man.
Waking up with a hazy memory of what happened before he awoke in such a situation was not a new sensation for Black Jack, the man has been kidnapped before just so some unsavory types could use his skills. The waking up in some kind of coffin in the middle of a lake (pond? large puddle?) though? That was new. And at least whoever had done this was nice enough to keep his tools of the trade that are in his coat and his doctor's bag, so Black Jack could hardly be very angry at this situation.
Oh sure, he was annoyed. More so after having read the pamphlet, ignoring the cell phone and finding the hologram of a young woman explaining things. Which he did listen to completely, before heading out into the city proper. And while usually he would stand out, wearing all black and a heavy coat in August tended to get him stares back home, that probably doesn't apply to Genessia.
But hey, he's not above asking for help. Especially since he doesn't know anything about this city, so either he'll approach someone to ask directions or perhaps the sight of him catches someone's attention. Either way, he's not using the phone to say look things up or communicate with the community at large. Even if that would be simpler.

Is Sans.
He's already made a bit of a mess, ketchup here and there, looks like he's spent more time eating the ketchup than the hotdog.
Black Jack only gets a moments look from the skeleton, all things considered, Jack isn't that odd. If anything he's almost a welcome sight.
And yes, yep, he goes to take a big bite of that sloppy as fuck hotdog, the king of table manners.

Perhaps he's been drugged. That's not a new thing for him either, being drugged that is. Seeing a skeleton eating a hot dog?
That's new. Hope Sans doesn't mind the staring.

He chews, and visibly swallows, but there's pretty clearly nothing going down his throat or into his stomach.
A few more fucking disgusting messy bites, before he raises a small hand and waves pleasantly.
"hey. nice coat."
no subject
Then the skeleton speaks. And says he has a nice coat, another thing that is making Black Jack slowly decide that this has got to be some kind of messed up drug induced thing or dream. Because most folks just ask him why about his coat.
"... Thank you?"
What else can he say.
no subject
"no problem. you just get here?" More of the hotdog vanishes down that nonexistent throat.
"i can show you around if you want. don't really have too much to do here."
no subject
ANYWAY, just going to take this all in stride for now.
"Yes, yes I have." Just arrived that is, his shoes and the lower part of his pants are still a bit damp after all. A good sign of a new comer, or someone who likes wading in their clothes.
And the skeleton is offering to show him around, he is most certainly going to have to do some tests once he's not on a street in public. With a slight resigned sigh he'll give Sans his answer to that offer.
"At the moment neither do I, and a talking skeleton being a guide is a bit better than me wandering aimlessly."
no subject
Sans. Do not start. A few more bites, and the hotdog is gone, the skeleton wiping off his boney fingers on the men of his hoodie before gesturing.
"c'mon. you hungry? we could find all the better places to eat first."
no subject
He wasn't moving, he might have been the perfect person to ask for directions.
no subject
But asking about being hungry, he's not. Hungry that is.
"I'm not, honestly I'd just rather find whoever decided to bring me to this... City."
It's the truth, he'd just want to know who brought him here and what they wanted. So he can get home sooner rather than later.
no subject
So the doctor will simply walk right by the man playing music without a second glance.

Without further ado, off Sans goes, wandering off towards the direction of the free housing.
"there's a place for all the newcomers to stay for free. only for a month, but it's not hard to get a job around here.
if you want one."
Someone might be a hobo, over here.
"i think the commons are fine. but you might want something better. kinda depends on how much room you need."
no subject
"Ah, I'm a... doctor of sorts." So really getting a job shouldn't be hard, yeah? Even though he is unlicensed, Black Jack is quickly figuring out that most likely no one here knows who he is. Unlike home.
Also no way in hell is he going to hobo it up. Never has and never will.
