NEWSPAPER - BIWEEKLY EDITION

[Did you subscribe to The Genessia Tribune? Did you even remotely wish you had a newspaper or some other form of media to refer to for news, weather, and current events? Then you're in luck! Even remote locations in the other cities will still get a paper if one of the residents ever wanted one. The Paperboy is just that dedicated.]
[And if you're one of the following people, and you happen to subscribe to the newspaper, the Paperboy may or may not have flung the newspaper through that person's window, at the person, and/or broke something in the area:Cad Bane, Theodore Satchel, Deadpool, Gale Reinhardt, Professor Sycamore, Ayame Sasaki, Soma Cruz, chaos, Yukiko Amagi, Fai D. Flourite, Emerald Sustrai, Chiaki Nanami.
The following people have their newspaper placed neatly on their doorsteps: -.]

Rooftop Hunter
Several werewolves in Everglade have been found dead, murdered on their way home. A silver tipped arrow has been found protruding from each of them. The shots were aimed to either hit them in their heart or head.
The culprit was spotted in a rooftop wearing dark clothes. The only thing that seemed to give away their position to onlookers was the gleam of the arrow head as they took aim. The shots were fired in quick succession before the werewolves could even react.
Examination of the crime scene uncovered a long blond strands of hair which is believed to belong to a woman. Further investigation into the crime is underway.

A Rush Order Edna Pennycastle couldn’t really remember the last time she’d been angry. It just wasn’t in her nature. Sure, there was the time about a year ago when she had been looking over her parole supervisor’s shoulder and saw him write “phlegmatic” on her behavior chart and that had come close to annoying her until he explained what it meant. And once in a while certain members of her social circle would test her patience by trying to avoid paying for a round of beers when it was definitely their turn. But for the most part, Edna’s style was one of steady, unruffled calm. Until today. Today she had become very close to being downright indignant. It all started innocently enough when Edna sauntered into the Romney Ram on Tooley Street about 10 a.m., as she often did. The Romney was her favorite pub in the Mechanics Bay area of Auckland, only a short walk from the fancy restaurants just to the west where she did her best work. And the publican didn’t mind serving his regulars in the back room before or after hours. Edna was just beginning to sip a pint of Steinlager when Hilly Cranston came through the door in his typically noisy fashion. He was obviously in a rush and obviously looking for her. He need- ed a passport, Hilly told her, for one of his special people and it didn’t matter from what country. When Edna wanted to know why he didn’t just go ask “Eversharp” McCreedy like everyone else did, Hilly replied that Eversharp, good as he was, took too long to produce the goods and this passport was needed by 4 p.m. After that, Edna just stared at her Steinlager and didn’t say another word while Hilly fumed and fussed and kept raising the fee until his final offer topped out at $2000, upon which she nodded quietly and smiled. Edna had always found that her most effective negotiating strategy was complete silence. After pocketing half the fee and accepting a promise of the remaining half on delivery, Edna found herself back out on Tooley Street debating whether to walk or take a taxi. Although she had never lifted a passport before, not that she could remember anyway, picking a pocket for one wouldn’t be all that different from seeking out the usual fare. The only problem was where to find the clientele. However, that issue was quickly resolved when she remembered a time a few years ago when she had followed some poufy swell who’d been flashing a big bankroll and relieved him of it over on Ponsonby Street in front of a passport office. What could be a more logical place to steal a passport! This was the point, though, when her change in mood began. The taxi dropped her off at the passport office –– she’d chosen the softer option to save time –– and to her surprise and extreme annoyance she discovered the front entrance was manned by a pair of security guards who were not only issuing numbers to people wanting in, but were asking for identification of all things! And they were dutifully recording this information in a laptop computer! Edna had never seen the like! Such a monumental waste of taxpayer’s money! Not that Edna paid taxes herself –– the less the government knew the better. But what a waste! With indignation swelling, Edna turned away and walked down Ponsonby. Of all the ridiculous ... Who would have thought ... Most irritating of all: what to do now? She was going to have to give back ... But before that thought reached its disappointing conclusion, the sound of a large passenger jet overhead intruded. Of course! Where else do you find passports besides the passport office? At the air- port! The relief at having an alternate resource should have diluted Edna’s irritation, but calculating that it would cost her about $30 just to get out to Auckland’s airport and 30 more to come back stirred it up anew. It didn’t help either that she went to the domestic terminal first and spent an hour wandering around grumbling to her- self until she realized that it was the international one she wanted. Correcting that mistake too took time and more cash. Still, Edna discovered, it’s a truly ill wind that fails to blow at least a little bit of good, for in the process of getting herself to the international terminal she happened upon a trash barrel full of brochures of just the right color. She picked one out, folded it to size and moved along. By now, her strategy was pretty well formed and within minutes she found herself on the arrivals level in the middle of an atmosphere that went a very long way toward making her feel better. Arrivals was extremely busy. Perfect conditions. With her righteous umbrage fading now to a mild burn, Edna shifted into professional mode. After first casually scoping out and noting anyone wearing a uniform, she picked her subjects: a large tour group clustered near a currency exchange. Al- most unnoticed, she walked into their midst with the folded brochure barely visible in one hand. “Anybody drop their passport?” she asked. |
What does Edna expect her strategy to achieve?

News about a relationship will surprise people. When the dust settles, there will be a lot of self-reflection for everyone.Quick Overview A current interest could become an obsession if you're not careful. Something has captured your interest and your attention because it has the potential to improve your life and make things better. However, too much of a good thing can also be problematic. For example, exercise can be healthy, but it can also be unhealthy if it's the wrong kind of exercise or you do it excessively. Don't allow enthusiasm and desire to overrule common sense, logic or professional advice.Extended Overview What seems like a great solution could end up being a wasted effort. Try to see the kinds of obstacles that might be ahead of you before you commit to this new path. This will make it easier for you to come up with contingency plans before you get started.Career Overview | Expect an abrupt change to your schedule today. Fighting against it could drain your energy.Quick Overview When a challenging problem arises, try to remember that it is just a moment in time and that the majority of your time will actually be spent reacting to it or dealing with it. Some people turn things into lengthy dramas, while others deal with them swiftly and move on. What will you do? Prolong the drama and wallow in self-pity, or deal with it quickly and move forward?Extended Overview A great idea needs to provide some kind of benefit and be cost effective. If your idea fails on one of these fronts, then your boss is unlikely to give it the green light. Do some more preparation and see how you can make it work before you bring your idea forward.Career Overview | Despite your recent achievement, you still feel as if it is incomplete. Don't be so hard on yourself.Quick Overview Some problems seem insurmountable. An expert would say that there are only a few possible ways to solve it, but someone with fresh eyes would believe that there are endless possibilities to be discovered. Try looking at the problem with fresh eyes, as if it's the first time you've ever seen it, and dream big.Extended Overview We often think that recognition is the most important aspect of feedback, but appraisal is also very important because it is advice that helps us to grow and improve.Career Overview | Your relationships will receive a welcome boost. The birth of a child signals a change in life.Quick Overview You need to forgive yourself for your mistakes and let go of your anger so that you can see clearly. What's done is done. What's past is past. Learn from those mistakes, and the situations and decisions that led you to make those mistakes, and move forward.Extended Overview Failure can feel like emotional baggage that we must carry around with us forever. You don't have to. Ditch that weight and free yourself.Career Overview |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
Your loyalty and friendship have not gone unnoticed. It will be rewarded.Quick Overview Some changes require time and steady effort rather than speedy and explosive amounts of effort. For example, people who want to lose weight often think that they have to run themselves ragged on the treadmill every day. This is often how people begin to lose weight: they dramatically cut their diet and overexercise. This results in fairly quick weight loss, but it's also a quick way to burn out and give up. It's too difficult to sustain impractical diets and excessive amounts of activity. Instead, small and realistic changes to your daily eating and exercise routines are much more sustainable over a longer period of time, and they also have the added benefit of retraining your brain to adopt new habits that may last a lifetime. Slow and steady is often better than fast and furious. Which method will you adopt for your next challenge?Extended Overview First impressions count and they're usually made within the first 30 seconds. If you only have a 30 second window to impress, do the best you can.Career Overview | A world of new opportunities will surprise you. Pace yourself. Don't overindulge.Quick Overview At the end of the day, we seldom wish that we had worked harder in our workplace. Instead, we usually wish that we had done something out of the ordinary, had a mini adventure, taken an unfamiliar path, or had more laughter and excitement. Today, when you reflect upon your day, use it to plan something different and unusual for tomorrow. Don't spend tomorrow repeating the same old routine. Add some variety - even something small can make a big difference.Extended Overview Don't contribute to the epidemic of pointless meetings. If it can be handled by email or a quick conversation, do it.Career Overview | Don't despair. New opportunities are coming soon. Watch the horizon.Quick Overview Do what you can with what you have. You don't have to expand or invest enormous amounts of time, energy and money right at the beginning. Start small, use what you have already, and build gradually towards your goals. If you do it this way, your mistakes will be smaller and cheaper, rather than enormous and expensive.Extended Overview Don't dwell on your previous failures. Look at them as opportunities to improve.Career Overview | A decision regarding a new home, a change of residence, or a renovation, may be necessary.Quick Overview You need to forgive yourself for your mistakes and let go of your anger so that you can see clearly. What's done is done. What's past is past. Learn from those mistakes, and the situations and decisions that led you to make those mistakes, and move forward.Extended Overview Templates and cut 'n' paste will be your best friend. Don't reinvent the wheel if you don't have to.Career Overview |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
Distant memories will come forward, urging you to remember something that is almost forgotten.Quick Overview Practice what you preach. If you believe in something, if you have strong ideals, then show others by modelling them in your life. If you believe in social justice, then take simple steps to live out that belief. Give. Help. Share your opinion. If you believe in strong relationships, then strengthen your own. When we change ourselves, we change the world.Extended Overview Make an excuse, get out of there, and get back to work. You don't want to get caught up in someone else's mess. Move away.Career Overview | This is a positive time for career advancement and financial success.Quick Overview We don't always make the right choices every time, but it is our choices, and the choices of those around us, that set us on our path. If you spend too much time procrastinating and being afraid to make a decision, you won't move forward with a clear purpose and your progress may slow down. However, if you make a decision that turns out to be wrong, you can't allow yourself to get stuck in a muddy pit of frustration and regret. We all make mistakes as we move through life. How you bounce back from them, your personal resilience, is what will make all the difference to your future.Extended Overview Work to your strengths. Don't fixate on what you can't do.Career Overview | New ideas and attitudes will help you to get out of your current rut.Quick Overview You're doing fine. It's a simple statement, but you need to hear it and internalise it. Don't fret over the small things that you cannot control. Let fate handle those. Your job is to stay on your course, and continue to do what is right for you and your life. Yes, you are doing fine.Extended Overview Once you have tackled a particular task or skill successfully and can do it with one hand tied behind your back, look for a way to improve upon your success. Never stop looking for ways to improve or better yourself or your work.Career Overview | Someone that you come in contact with today will be more than happy to create an ugly scene if there is a dispute. Back off and let them cool down.Quick Overview You've got to be in it to win it. If you don't go to the party, you won't get an opportunity to dance. If you don't go to the meeting, you may miss an opportunity to network with other people. The truth is, showing up is half of the battle. If you don't go, you'll never know.Extended Overview Demonstrating a need for change is only the first step. The next step is to plan for it, help others take ownership of it by allowing them to offer their input, implement it, and evaluate its progress and success.Career Overview |
