Who: Karla and Lea
Where: Holodeck'd in Genessia City.
When: Today
What: Following through with their sparring agreement.
Warnings: Some mild violence. Or friendly violence. It is a sparring match, after all.
After being the lone deputy of Genessia City for over a year, Karla was happy to get some partners. Especially one who shared one thing in common with her: being more combat-oriented than anything. If they were going to work effectively as a team, they needed to learn each other's capabilities. And what better way to learn that than with a sparring match?
Karla paced back and forth in the empty Holodeck'd room as she waited for her partner, remembering what she had learned about Lea's abilities from both Lea and David. Lea used "chakrams," some weapons Karla has never seen before. And David had mentioned that Lea had teleporting abilities. No doubt he would use his powers during the match. Even with the disadvantage, Karla wouldn't want him to hold back.
As she waited, she could feel the urge to swing her sword pulsing through her arm. But patience...she would be swinging her sword soon enough.

"Anyway, which would you like first, chakrams or Keyblade?", he asked. "Or should I mix it up a bit?"

"Not too long at all," she said. "I'm about as raring as I'll ever be."
But chakrams or Keyblade? It didn't really matter as far as Karla was concerned. She drew her sword from its sheath, bringing the blade down to her side as she shrugged at the question. "Whichever you like. Surprise me."

Karla studied his stance, pondering on what might happen if she just rushed him. The only guess she really had was that he could throw those chakrams at her. Oh well, she'd deal with it when it happened. Or learn to.
"All right...here we go."
She dashed toward him, keeping light on her toes. Once she was within range, she brought up her blade, aiming a lightning-quick stroke towards him.

Lea too was light on his feet; his fighting style had always been loose and frenetic. All the better to keep his opponents guessing, and maybe give the impression that he was a bit unstable; with a wall of fire blazing in the background, it was surprisingly easy to pull off. He brought up one chakram to block her blow, then turned it slightly with a flick of the wrist and the sound of metal on metal, hoping to catch her blade on one of the spikes and throw her off. At the same time, he twisted his body just enough that he could strike out at her with the other chakram, aiming the blow at her off-side.

It was very rare for her to make the first attack like this, so it was no surprise that it was so easily blocked. Getting her blade caught in the chakram spikes was a surprise though, but she simply followed her blade, moving past Lea to avoid his attack, pulling back her blade and spinning to face him again. After a split second paused, she moved in again, this time with an upward diagonal stroke.
