New Year's Eve Countdown Party

WHAT: Hammer's rented a glitzy clubhouse for the New Year's Eve party, as a means of cementing the bonds between Genessia's true heroes, sidekicks, and fans. Time to show off those party dresses! There's food, music, and fireworks once the clock strikes twelve.
WHEN: December 31st, 2013 - 8pm and past midnight into January 1st, 2014 (forward-dated)
WHERE: Regency Apartments Clubhouse - Genessia City

If one thing could be said about Captain Hammer, it was that he cleaned up nicely. If two things could be said, it's that he can throw one hell of a party. As a city guardian, he can afford it, and a guardian's job encompasses more than just punching the bad guys in the ego.

Heaps of food, ranging from light vegetable hors d'ouerves to thin slices of expensive cheese and meats to elegantly crafted cream puffs, are arranged on several tables throughout the room. There's more than one punch bowl, though each is clearly labeled as to which ones are for the adults, and which ones are okay for the kiddies.

The middle of the floor is mostly cleared, save for those who have taken the initiative to bust a groove and start dancing to the smooth tunes laid out by the hired DJ.

Captain Hammer expected a decent turnout, and he was sure there would be a fair share of shenanigans if his sidekicks teammates were any indication. He'd posted a number of lookouts around the building to alert him if there were any signs of trouble. So if Hammer was frequently seen excusing himself and returning while brushing off the dirt from his tuxedo, pay him no mind. He was just making sure the party ran smoothly and uninterrupted.

[ By the time Penny had found her way out to normal civilization, she realized there was a party going on and it was off to find a dress so that she could blend in and make friends and possibly find out exactly what was going on but mostly the first two. And so a dress she obtained! Her hair's still the same as ever of course, but at least she's got a cute dress. That's totally step one in the whole meeting and greeting new people plan.

Step two is to pop up from behind the snack table without any indication as to how she got there or when she got there, she's just there. Hope you were paying attention. ]

[Ruby's heart was not prepared for this, she just wanted to eat some snacks in peace. She literally jumps and drops the little plate of food she had gathered up.

Now there's broken glass and wasted food everywhere, I hope you're happy Penny.]

Gah! Penny! Where did you come from!? When did you even get here!?

[Blake stops in her tracks when she catches sight of Penny appearing from behind the snack table. Her gaze shifts from side to side... and then another partygoer moves between her and Ruby's line of sight and she's just... gone.]

[ That doesn't answer where she came from of course.. Penny moved out from behind the table and quickly went to face Ruby, avoiding the shattered remnants of Ruby's meal. ]

[There's a small sigh, though to be honest, she's happy to see Penny.]

Well, I've been here for just about a month and half so far.

[ In fact, Penny's a little concerned that she's seen her sooner than a month and a half, but she's not going to say anything just yet. Got to think about that one. Ruby wouldn't lie to her, right? So possibly her time must be off. ]

Yeah, I hadn't really thought of it, but it is a long a time Penny.

[Honestly, she hadn't really noticed it had been quite that long, but then again, pretty much all of her friends had ended up here too. That made things a whole lot easier than the first few days when arrived.]

Oh you know, getting settled and moving into apartment. ...Guess I've got to find a job or something next.

Nice to meet you Penny. I'm God. [Well. She's not ever going to say no to someone wanting a friend. And, you know, she has one truckload of patience... most of the time.] I haven't seen you around before. Are you new here?

[ Being someone who's certainly odd herself, this form of communication doesn't bother her at all. Within a matter of seconds after she reads the message, Penny ducks down and crawls underneath the table to get to the other side, popping up right in front of God. ]

It's a pleasure to meet you, God! I just arrived here today! I heard there was a party, so I got a dress and came!

[ If there's a big party, that's where people are likely to be, and it's where she could probably find someone she knows! Maybe. ]

It was a good plan. It was a lot more popular than I expected it to be... but I suppose we all just need a good party now and again, right?
