ALL HAIL THE MAD QUEEN

October 15th- Nova City Hall, Action - OTA
[ After Yang's incident, Weiss had decided the best course of action to get her ready again once she was out of the hospital was to hop on stocking up on Dust. Which meant she was headed to Fayren, despite the news that Halloween costumes were abound. Last time that happened she briefly was able to firebend, it didn't seem like that big of a problem.

Unfortunately, instead of selecting a random costume, it went for Weiss's actual costume she had selected. It was an olive branch to Jaune after their latest fight, a character from his favorite comic, X-Ray and Vav: The Mad King. (Look, he had the cutest skirt out of everyone.) It's not a complete takeover, so Weiss is still decidedly Weiss, but the personality.. well, that's a little different.

She didn't change out of her costume when she got back to Nova City, instead her priority being visiting the City Council-- the government body that her father couldn't operate without the cooperation of. After a brief meeting, Weiss can be seen walking out of City Hall with a little smirk on her lips and every member of the city council happily.. cuddling puppies and saying things like "Absolutely, Queen Schnee! Thank you!" and "All hail the mad queen!"

It's undeniable they've decided to be on her side of things, though it's questionable how else she got them to agree besides puppy power. Approach her? ]

October 15th- The Throne Room, Video - OTA
[ Where exactly this is is questionable in the video, but the sky in the huge glass wall windows behind it is definitely Nova City. There are definitely people following her every whim and Weiss Schnee is definitely leaning to one side on her throne of blue and silver for a moment before sitting up straight. ]

Citizens of Nova City, my name is Weiss Schnee, and as of yesterday, the City Council has agreed to follow under a new system of government. Sometimes you can't fix what isn't broken, and they've all decided that the appropriate solution to many of Nova City's problems is the installation of a monarchy. My monarchy.

[ And then the City Councilpersons come up one by one and give their blessing on this decision about accepting the Mad Queen Weiss as their ruler. ]

Well, I suppose it's better than Ice Queen.

[ Perhaps those who work in City Hall might find the sudden addition of a throne room on top of the building rather curious, but hey. A queen needs a throne. ]

October 16th-18th Power Station - Closed to X-ray & Jaune (once they.. sort things out so they can try to save the day)
[ Despite the odd circumstances of her ascention to the apparent throne, Weiss was still a popular person. Obviously there was dissent about her suddenly becoming a monarch of a city though, but it had been strangely.. well, subdued. Probably because a huge portion of the population was being manipulated by a robotic cow that had been programmed and plugged into the city's power in a hole beneath the station and wifi system utilizing some coding that Weiss had stolen from a case involving the hacking of prosthetics. And all she was doing with it was sending out one clear message to smooth things over: All Hail the Mad Queen.

Needless to say compliance was much easier when you were overwriting a huge chunk of the population to follow your rule. :)

Weiss of course checked in on it every day to make sure that the cow was still secure. Still in the hole. ]

OOC NOTE: Weiss only influenced the NPCs, not PCs. If you play a character I promise you I didn't just do that without your permission. (The coding is for Nova City's system as per a case she worked on when she was city Guardian!)

[Before Winter ever turns her own camera on, she slowly drags her gloved hands down her masked face. She doesn't care for the daily costume change of Fayren, from farmgirl to chicken mascot to dinosaur with a rubber mask (which is what she's wearing now against her will), and now it seems her little sister has suddenly decided to take over a city and rule with an iron fist.]

[So here's a dinosaur mask, with Winter's voice coming from it.]

In my defense, I'm queen now so I don't actually have to answer. Admittedly, I probably should've had a proper ceremony, but I've got work to do.

[ It's like the Mad King if the Mad King had the work ethic of a person crazy enough to fill and organize a 5-inch binder. ]

[Winter is silent. Judging. Though it can't be seen, she might be smiling faintly. Honestly? She has no idea what's going on, but Weiss seems to be enjoying herself. If things start to get out of hand, she'll drop in, but for now...let the little sister cut loose for a while.]

I see. Well then. This matter is clearly beyond the jurisdiction of Fayren, so it seems there's no need for my personal interference. We will speak again.

[She can't wait to hear the story behind this one.]

[Jaune had been absolutely ecstatic when he saw the video of Weiss dressed as The Mad King from his favorite comic! He had wanted to compliment her right away. The crown looked flawlessly regal on top of her snowy locks, and the skirt was perfect and the costume was so accurate and adfdsafasfdse.]

[But while getting into character was certainly admirable, Weiss wasn't really acting exactly like herself. A monarchy situation just wasn't Weiss, especially when she was trying to move from a leadership position. Things had been uncertain between them, but this was too drastic a change, and he wanted to find out if something was wrong.

But first, he needed a costume.]

[Jaune wasn't a genius, and begging random scientists to be his Hilda hadn't been working. With no X-ray around...it was up to him. He had to do something. Dressed as his favorite British superhero, Jaune had gone around, politely asking his sources where The Mad Queen's operations were located. With no answers, he eventually, accidentally, ran into the station, and nearly into her. Standing behind her, his cape dramatically flew around in the breeze.]

Weiss, you look great. [Look, just because he couldn't fake a British accent didn't mean he wasn't going to do his best to try.] Really great, I was so excited when I saw you dressed up! But aren't you taking this a little too far?

On the contrary, I don't think I'm taking it far enough.

[ It was far from a complete hold over the city, even if she had many of the mechanically inclined falling to her every whim and whisper. She didn't turn around just yet, staring at her bovine contraption. ]

Perhaps it's time to start phase two. What do you think, [ She turns around, as if she knew he was dressed as her arch nemesis. ] Vav?

[ Wait, is that lightning in the background to accentuate her words? This is too comic-y to be real isn't it?? ]

No, on your contrary, this plan is quite...contrived!

[He points at her accusingly, but that doesn't stop the concern from sneaking into his voice. It's when she starts talking about phases that he knows this is truly serious.

He stares at her as if looking at a stranger, his accent accentidentally going more down under.] It was clear just a minute ago.

[Ignore it. Priorities!] If this is the path you've chosen for yourself Weiss, then I'm sorry, but I will stop you!

You don't even know my plan yet!

[ God, don't be so rude Jaune. At least some parts of her are still Weissy. (Which is why she definitely didn't try to kill her father and kind of just went for public humiliation and terror. Oops.) ]

You always do look for me to share with you first, don't you? Well, perhaps it's finally time I opened up...

[ Whaaat did the lights just go out now!? There's definitely some strange noises. Is Weiss going full mecha-suit combining with the cow?!!! When the lights turn back on, that's exactly what happened. ENTER THE EDGAR SUIT. He might need some back-up on this. ]

...Your skull!

No, I don't. But what I do know is you've always tried to do the right thing. Except that one time when you were split and half of you tried to do the mediocre not terrible but not really good thing. But you know what I mean, I think--

[But even his superhero act and fake Irish accent can't conceal the hurt look at that comment. He understands she's mad at him, and he has no right to complain, but comments like that still sing with the resentment they carry.

He wonders if this is how he made her felt.

But the lights go out and there's a loud, girlish scream before Jaune calms down--

AND SCREAMS AGAIN BECAUSE OH GOD WHAT IS THAT MONSTROSITY.]

WEISS YOU'RE CLASSIER THAN THIS. STOP THIS AT ONCE OR I'LL...STOP THE MAD KING WHO'S CONTROLLING YOUR BRAIN!

[If he has to stop the Edgar Suit, he'll stop the Edgar Suit. It's not like the real X-ray or Vav are here, so he has to do what he can and braces himself.]

[ for a second it looks like she's going to stop, kneeling down as if she was going to exit the cow suit .. before standing up straight so the chest of the mech suit opens up to reveal pink guns that shoot white acid. ]

[Now he's mad. And then he's busy dodging the attacks. It's terrifying, moreso than the nuckelavee. But he has to be strong, emotionally strong, like Vav!]

I hate tea! [And he launches one at each of the pink guns.]

[ The pun might not have been necessary (none of them really are) but its's definitely better than tea bags that were in his underpants?? GROSS GROSS gROSS. ]

I hate to tell you Jaune, but I prefer coffee!

[ also they're just teabags what the hell is she supposed to do with those... The acid just dissolves them!?? And Weiss smirks. ]

I remembered! And that's why--

[He gasps (dramatically) as his plan fails. No more standing in the background and trying to think of a plan. It's time to be brave.

It's time to do something stupid.]

Get ready to get creamed Mad Queen!

[He'll parkour just like X-ray! Jaune starts working on climbing the Edgar Suit to get to the guns himself.]

[ Weiss tries to smack him off! Unfortunately cows are not that flexible, but she's trying! Upon realizing that isn't working, she tries to catch him in a hug.

A very squeezey hug.

Almost too squeezy. ]

[Clinging on because he really didn't feel like climbing up again, Jaune tried to squirm out of Weiss's grip.

And then it began to hurt.] I-- I will stop you. I won't let you do something you regret.

[ With absolutely NO warning whatsoever, from the shadows there's a violent blast of plasma, a red laser screaming through the air to connect with one of the arms hugging Jaune to death.

And standing at the laser's origin point... ]

WHAT UP, BITCHES.

[ is this fucking guy ]

[ She drops him and backs up! What, it looks like she lost one of her robotic arms! Weiss turns to look at X-Ray, eyes narrowing. ]

You!

[ Does she recognize him? Yes of course. Does she realize that it's because she read through a comic book? Absolutely not. ]

It's two against one now, is it..? Find three more and perhaps it'll be an even match.

[ Weiss, your robot cow suit is missing an arm, stop showboating.. ]

[Jacques had been holed up in his office since he woke up as a faerie a few days ago. (He'd ruined his suit and had to place a rush order for some new custom ones for the week - what a bother.) But news only takes so long to reach him, and when he asks his secretary to place an order for some gourmet food and is met with a "I don't take orders from you! I only listen to the Mad Queen!" it hadn't taken him long to leave the confines of his office and storm up to the newly-installed Throne Room above him. Father-daughter feud or not, she'd gone too far.

He pushes his way through the mass of people (who he will be firing once this is all said and done) to address their new ruler directly.]

Weiss! What is the meaning of this? I demand you cease this foolishness immediately!

Funny, I thought you'd approve. All of your colleagues seem to think I'm a perfect fit reigning over your head.

[ Cease this foolishness immediately? What foolishness? he almost sounds like one of those foolish superheroes trying to call her on her evil deeds. ]

But if you don't, perhaps you need to be enlightened about what a monarchy is, Mayor Schnee. Or perhaps you do, and your pending lack of employment is what you're so upset about. Don't worry, if you learn to behave I'll let you stay in your office like a good little mayor.

Young lady, this has gone on long enough! [He pulls his phone out of his pocket and waves it threateningly.] I'll give you one last chance to stand down but then I'm calling the Guardians in.

Besides, if this is a monarchy, then I would be King before you, so if anything I should be telling you to get off of my throne.

I said a monarchy, not a patriarchy. The one who conquers is the one in charge. You don't get to take credit for my work anymore father. Now...

[ She doesn't budge from her throne, nor flinch. Ohh, a phone. Scary! What she does do is lean against the arm of her throne and snap her fingers of the same hand, looking at him with her eyelids lowered slyly as some of her new minions walk up on either side of him. ]

Put down the phone or we'll see how fast I'll turn a Gelé to Gelée.

[oh she dare]

I will do no such thing! What do you plan on doing? Kill me?

[He's sneering at her. She doesn't have the guts and he knows it.]

I've tried to be reasonable, Weiss, but you leave me no choice. This has gone on long enough! Ah, Guardian Vakarian. It's Mayor Schnee. I have a bit of a situation at-

When have you ever been reasonable?

[ She rolls her eyes and mutters that sentence, then stands up on the throne, her hand on top of it as she stands on either arm of the chair, gesturing as she speaks. As she readjusts her position, her minions grab Jacques's arms and the phone falls to the ground to cut him off, one of them smashing it with their foot. ]

It's always your way or the highway, isn't it? Well now it's time for my way-- [ They drag him over to a section of the window that opens and hold him, pushing his back so he's literally dangling over the edge of the building. ] Or the High Way.

[You broke his phone you jerks!

He struggles against the mob, shouting as they drag him across the roof.]

Let me go! I demand that you unhand me at once! I'll have your jobs for this! I am the Mayor of this city!

[And then he feels the edge of roof. He makes the mistake of twisting his neck and looking down and boy howdy is it a long, long way down. Panic begins to set in as he realizes that no, this might actually happen (damn you mob mentality) and my goodness he does not want to die.]

Weiss, this isn't funny anymore! Get them away from me!

Let me tell you how this all ends, Father.

[ Weiss saunters over to him, standing a few feet to the side, right near the edge so she can definitely be seen even with the mob holding him out. ]

Either you fall, or you swear fealty to me. This is your last chance. Let's hear it.

[ And she waits for the "All hail the Mad Queen." ]

[Yeah, like that's going to happen.]

Weiss, this is absurd! Whatever feud you have with me we can talk about it! Surely you won't harm your own father, would you dear?

[He feels the mob push him a little more and his heart skips a beat. He knows the end is nigh if he does nothing.]

I'll give you back the house, I don't care, just make them release me!

"All hail the Mad Queen." Say it, or you'll the only thing your mustache is going to be doing is sweeping your blood off the sidewalk.

[ On the bright side, she's got some people wheeling out a giant vat of blue jello to catch him when he falls. He's not looking anymore and she doubts he'll keep his eyes open when he gets pushed, so she's taking a gamble on it. (And even if he does, it just looks like some people are wheeling some strange glittering substance, like a huge truck bed of sapphires or something.) ]

Three, two...

[ And if he doesn't, he's definitely getting pushed into the jello. It's a long ass fall so it'll still be terrifying but at least the gelatin should stop him from getting any broken bones or anything. ]

[She wouldn't. She's bluffing. She has to know that he would never say anything of the sort.

Turns out she wasn't bluffing.

Letting out the most undignified shriek a person can imagine, Jacques plummets. If he was in his right mind he would use his wings, but he kind of has other things on his mind. Like, you know, falling to his death.

Fortunately(?) for him, the 30 feet of jello is enough to slow his fall enough so that when he makes impact he's not super dead. He looks rather limp from way above, but upon closer investigation he's still alive, just very much unconscious.

He's going to have a mean concussion when he wakes up, though, if the purple jello around his head is any sign. And maybe a bruised rib or eight.]

Fetch him, give him medical attention if he needs it, and lock him up. I suppose it's about time that Edgar got some company.

[This is weird. And out of no where, but then again everything going on these past few days has been out of no where so he's not entirely sure what to think. ...although, if it means Jacques is getting knocked down a few pegs...]

I appreciate your support, Gale. I have no intention of lording over anyone [ excpet that the throne is literally on top of city hall but whatever ] and plan on being a benevolent ruler.

[ Look hers is more fitted for her so she actually looks pretty good in it. (ty to karma for the awesome art) Even if it looks a little bit like she lost her damn mind on fashion. ]

I do have some more puppies if you'd like to pet one.

[Grell doesn't live in Nova City anymore, but her heart still has a place there.]

I've worked it out with the system of government elected officials. No one's been hurt, this isn't a hostile takeover. I have plenty of support from the people, Guardian Sutcliff. Why, perhaps "Mad Queen" is a bit of a misnomer- if anything, I'm a very Glad Queen, happy to serve our new kingdom of Nova.

[ But she wouldn't be against some swift justice but you can't just go out and say that to the public, she's smarter than that. ]

Mad queen? Well I didn't vote for her.

I don't think you quite understand what a monarchy is. The elected officials that Nova City decided represent and make decisions on their behalf did accept me.

[There's a quiet sigh.]

Should I be worried?

[A smirk tugs at Seth's lips as he watches the screen. Monarchy's can be either good or bad, it depends on the situation and those in charge. He knows that Weiss is a good leader and honestly, he wouldn't be too upset if she became the monarch of Nova City.

It's better than other monarch he's experienced.]

Rest your fears, Seth. I have no intention of causing harm to this city, but bringing it to a new era of peace and prosperity under my rule.

[ This isn't normal Weiss, unfortunately. This is the Mad Queen. So despite that Weiss is a good leader, she's more the type to shoot a laser beam at her enemies and bribe people with puppies and generally just not be a good person in order to gain power. ]

[Fear might not be the right word for what he's feeling. It's hard to describe but it's more in line with worry.]

What happened to taking a step back?

[Pale yellow eyes attempts to inspect the screen for something off, some small indication to suggest that she'd somehow been affected by the odd happenings that have been changing the dynamic of each town.]

[ The fact that she's wearing something that looks nothing at all like anything she would normally wear (Her Mad King costume) is prooobably an indication if he's looking for that. ]

I did. I took a step back and re-evaluated how I could solve the conflict of interest and continue to protect the people of Nova City. [ She spreads her arms to indicate this is clearly the solution. ]

[Everything clicks in an instant and Seth curses himself for not leaving Everglade more. He should have been more focused on what the other areas were dealing with than fighting off people eating houses.]

[ The trickiest part is, she actually had the costume already prepared. It just happened to pop onto her in Fayren. ]

I bought it for Halloween. It is coming up, I just happened to get in the mood a little early since I swung by Fayren. It's surprisingly comfortable.

[ Oops. ]

[Seth rubs his hand down his face. Of course she has a costume prepared.

He has mixed feelings about Halloween, he always has, though that might be because he had watched the Salem witch trials first hand. It's hard to get behind a Holiday when there are so many horrors in the wake of superstition.]

You don't think that the costume might be affecting your judgement.

[Seth is at a loss on how to fix this.]

[Well.. That is a thing. However curiosity has really gotten the better of Satsuki so until Garrus ~~or Mercury~~ say something, she's going to wait and see how this all plays out.
