[Han has been taking things a step at a time the past few days. He hasn't been rushing into battle around the city, but he's definitely been running into the monsters more times than he's happy with. Having his blaster with him helps, but he's trying not to get himself into anything he can't get out of easily. He's no Luke, he just has his wits and his blaster. They'll do for the most part, but he'll be glad when this is over.]

All I gotta say is, I'll be glad when this whole thing is over. I've fought a few monsters in my time, but not like these things, that's for sure. I'll get through, I always do, but I don't like this place getting so rough, either.

Rough is one thing, but I think this borders a little on the ridiculous. AT least the things don't seem to be able to get inside homes.

[She pouts and leans her chin against her hand.]

Would be nice to be able to see what this place is like at night without worrying about such things as fairy tales come to life.

Yeah.

A little too much like a few places back home at times. Some planets you really have to watch it on where I come from. But nothing like some of the things I've seen here.

And yeah, it's not bad at night when this isn't going on.

Oh that I understand! Have to watch what you say and do even in front of a plant!

[She smiled in interest.]

So this doesn't happen all the time? This place sounds more and more interesting by the moment.

I'm not too used to that, although my friend says the trees where he's from have some kind of sentience. Still seems weird to me, but I guess not much surprises me either.

And no, not all the time. It can be rough when someone decides to cause trouble, but it isn't usually crawling with monsters.

They're not murderous carnivores are they?

Nah. It's the wildlife that can get nasty on you, not the trees on that planet. Well, some of the wildlife.

I think it's been close to a year now, if not more. Sometimes I lose track, but it's sure been a long time.

Only some? That sounds fortunate. Of course, that all depends on the size of the wildlife, doesn't it?

[Her eyes widen a bit.]

A year? I. Wel, I wans't expecting it to be that long. Goodness this is going to be stranger than even old norms, isn't it.

Yeah, pretty much. It's really not so bad on that world as long as you stay off the forest floor. Down there, not too many get out alive.

Come to think of it, we got too many worlds with places like that. Forest, desert, snow...there's nasty things wherever you go.

Yeah, probably. Even I took a bit to get used to it all.

So the surface is dangerous but, the canopy isn't? Now I know it's somewhere I've never been. What's it called? My friend may know of it!

[Probably not because of multiverse rules but Sarah isn't aware of this yet.]

I think it all sounds lovely, even the dangerous bits. Can't have things be too boring, and so long as you know about the danger, what is there to it?

True. It's different depending on what planet you're on at the time, but I guess as long as you watch your back...

Ah, that makes a bit more sense.

[She tries to say the name of the planet and manages to mangle it only once before catching on.]

Or have someone to watch you back for you.

Yeah, Wookiee language...that's the species...is that way. I can understand but speakin' it is another story.

I mean I like the horror trope as much as anyone, but it's a lot different actually being helpless than simply watching it on television and getting scared that way. It's scarier in person.

[Although he didn't look overly scared right now, that was because Takeru had to stay indoors for the most part during the night, not that he would go outside now without Patamon due to not being very much a fighter. He was starting to figure out ways around them, but he knew to use that in extreme measures like not getting back to the Commons in time.]

I've dealt with some pretty scary things in my time, but I don't like running into them all the time.

I keep expecting things from back home to show up. Rancors...big and scary, although apparently trainable. Or krayt dragons, which are even scarier. Although I haven't faced one of those personally. I only had to worry about a wampa, a big, scary white thing that almost ate my friend.

Same really, but it's less scary if you can somewhat handle it. I say less because it can still be pretty terrifying.

[Though honestly what the other guy was saying did make them sound like they would be scary as well. Evil Digimon were not the only things it seems.]

Yet funny thing. If you have scary stories and things like that. Don't scare me. Give me a real life thing that can kill me, different story. But that's because it can kill me whereas stories and haunted houses will not. They are just fun and interesting.

And yeah, I agree. A lot of the stuff here is way different than what I've seen before.

Very different indeed. It's like a bunch of horror movies coming to life in one place.

A horror paradise if you will. But... I take it it's not always this case?

No, not always. You're gonna have your troublemakers wherever you go, but other than that, it's not always too bad. You can never tell what weird thing is coming next, that's the only problem.

[That sounds like something he would easily get used to. Although deep down, he kind of wished he wasn't here right now.]

So I guess I'll just have to get comfortable or use to it.

Yeah. Hopefully it'll clear up soon and things'll be back to whatever passes for normal here.

I'll have to take your word for it. I would consider what is happening as normal if others hadn't said otherwise.

I get it. I'd probably think the same thing if I'd just showed up recently.

But will stuff like this keep happening now and again?

Yeah.

Not the monsters. Just lots of different things. No one can really predict what's coming next.

Okay, it was just so I would know so I'm not surprised again.

Because while some surprised can be fun. Those kinds are not.

I gotta agree there. I don't want these kind again anytime soon.

Well until the next time, whenever that is, we can relax.
