Video leaving the Bay
[Maes Hughes has accepted the fact that this is the end. Some shapeshifting freak is pointing a gun to his chest disguised as his wife and he just can’t bring himself to harm them even though he knows it’s not her. So this is how it’s going to end, huh...
The next thing he knows, he’s in some weird… thing in some weird place and he really has no idea what’s going on. He figures this must be the afterlife (not at all what he pictured, really) until he watches the video - and boy wasn’t that a trip - and reads over the info that was provided in the Bay. It was all very troubling, really, but since never in his wildest dreams would he be able to come up with this kind of tech he has to assume this is actually real and he’s not dead.
Well, there’s some good news at least.
He fumbles around with the device for a few minutes and has an uncharacteristically serious face on when he finally figures out how to work it and get the video feed up on his way to Genessia City.]
My name is Lieutenant Colonel Hughes and I have just one question:
[He stares hard before he’s suddenly the picture of absolute adoration as he whips photographs seemingly out of thin air and holds them in front of his face.]
Have you seen my baby girl? Her name is Elicia, she’s three years old, and she’s just the cutest little girl on the planet! Look at her, isn’t she stunning? And she’s smart, too! Why just the other day…
[Either mute your devices or interrupt him, people. There’s no limit as to how long he can talk on this subject (or how many pictures he has).]
Action in Genessia City
[Hughes is very certain that the intro video did not mention a single thing about monsters. He’s going to be having words with these Schnees about this. But that’s for later. For now, he lodges a knife square in the face of a… whatever that thing is before he ducks for cover behind a car.]
What the hell is going on? First that… thing and now this? Just where the hell am I?
[He pokes his head out and sees that the coast is clear before he runs another burst down the street towards the Guardian Office. He figures he can get some answers there and maybe help out, but it looks like he’ll have to fight his way there. He’s decent enough in a war, but for this? He could probably use some help.]

You wouldn't happen to know if people are sent back to the exact minute they vanished, were they?
[An hour before would be great. Or maybe a the next day or something. Anything would be better than where he was plucked from.]
[ Video ]
Nah. Far as everyone's said. It's the exact time y'would've left.
[ Video ]
So, in a way, this place is giving them a second chance at life then. Assuming that theory is correct, that is. Strange, then, that he would comment on Hughes being able to see his family again, but maybe he was just trying to comfort him. But if others have come and gone, and they were meant to die before they came the first time, then maybe there's a way to change things? This is all so confusing. He'll have to talk to Riza about it, try to sort out his thoughts. But if he's right in that that is when they're taken, then he's pretty much delivering her death sentence.
...
Maybe he'll just keep it to himself for now.
All he can do right now is just keep acquiring information.]
Are there any warnings that anyone's going to go back home before they do? Or is there any way to stop it?

[ Shinjiro isn't a spy. He is pretty perceptive, though he usually keeps his thoughts and observations to himself. It's entirely untrained, and merely based on his instincts and experiences on the streets of Iwatodai.
However. If someone is talking about stopping a return home ...
He frowns, and then pokes at the phone, so the feed goes private. ]
Why d'you ask?
[ He's fully expecting a brush-off. ]
[ Video | Private ]
Uh.
[Whoops. Those probably were not the most innocent questions he could have asked. Time to bullshit it!]
Well, what if you're in the middle of something important? What if you're talking to someone and they hold the answer to everything and then they just up and disappear? Or if you're trying to get somebody medical attention and you disappear? There are times where you might want to try and hold off.
[That sounded pretty good actually.]
[ Video | Private ]
[ Sighs. ]
Just one of those would've been convincin.
[ Video | Private ]
Convincing of what? Did you think I had some sort of sinister ulterior motive? Sorry to disappoint; I'm just a man who loves his family. I just don't want to be forced out of here. If I'm in the middle of something, I mean.
[Or ever, really, but he's not about to say that. He doesn't know you. Besides, he's only just heard about all of this himself. He's not ready to unload it on anyone. Even if they might know what he's going through. But not yet.]
[ Video | Private ]
You mentioned goin back to a few minutes before, y’know. So, before ...
[ ... He’s only told one person outside anonymous posts. Who didn’t already know.
But this guy could be in the same boat. ]
... Before you’re shot twice, bleedin out in your best friend’s arms.
I get it. You don’t gotta tell me nothin about it. I get it.
[ Video | Private ]
Shit. I'm really sorry. I didn't think that you...
[Man he really screwed up here. Nothing to do but plow ahead, though.]
Is everyone here dead back home?
