[Voice]
I'll save anyone the trouble of having to listen to the probable normal rundown of all of this and get straight to the point. Maybe. No promises, darlings.
[There's the sound of something being shuffled around, maybe paper of some kind? Who even knows with her right about now.]
Has anyone... by chance noticed any sort of weirdness when it comes to shifting, if you have the ability to do so? Just need to know for, I don't know, science or magic or something. Roll with me here.
Alternatively... If anyone has any leads on an enclosed area that isn't being used for something, I might have a proposition for you. Nothing shady, I assure you, just for a bit of fun since I might have done a few different kinds of shows back home with my brother and why not keep my skills sharp?~

Ah, but I'm questioning out of turn. To answer yours: one can make reservations at the theater. I've done that myself, though nothing's guaranteed. Another option would be the holodeck--unconventional, but it's empty enough if you, again, catch it while it's idle.
[Voice]
[She's going to mull over those options for a moment before sighing, a really overly dramatic version of one, at least.]
That just won't do. The kind of place I need would need to be able to hold something more... permanent. I'm not about to move my things here and there near constantly, after all. They get heavy. [It's literally illusions, what does she even mean anymore.]
But I guess it could... be effective for gaining interest, at the very least.
Re: [Voice]
[Unfortunately the meaning's a little dry: "from Lydia". At least it has good acoustics.]
Oh, you're after a more constant abode, eh? Well, I'll keep an eye out for an abandoned warehouse, or something of that type.
Aheh, better than nothing! What's this "not-shady" performance of yours?
no subject
Something like that, yes. And... thank you, I suppose, it's not like I know this place all that well. Yet.
[Ah, how... to explain Wonderland without mentioning the "socially unacceptable" parts about it.]
I'm something of a performer, I suppose. Though it'd be a little different without my brother around, we did various bits and shows. Game show type of things, mostly.

You're welcome! Of course, be cautious, as there's likely a reason any building is vacated. Seedy neighborhoods, most likely.
Oh! Like a variety show. Huh! You know I don't think any of us necklace-bearers have started any syndicated television. That ought to be fun.
[Normally he'd express sympathy for her MIA brother, but she doesn't seem too torn up about it.]

Something of that sort! Who knows, it might be games that people around here have never seen before. And, luckily, don't really require all that much effort in setting up.

[On the one hand, his 'damsel in distress' senses are tingling. On the other hand, the natives rarely harm the aliens, i.e. themselves. She'll probably be fine.]
Hah, well then, I hope your good fortune continues. I'm looking forward to your novelties. If there's anything else you'd like to know or need aid with, I'm but a phone call away. I've been in the world likely too long to be healthy.

Well, I'm guessing this place is used to non-humans being here? Usually you get a few more looks going into what seems to be a human dominated city if you aren't a human. It's a bit refreshing, I guess.
no subject
Oh, you aren't? Human, that is.
[The ears are probably a giveaway, but he's notorious for missing fine details.]
Yes, you've the right of it. "Man is the measure of all things" is, it seems, a universal maxim. Heh, do you not appreciate "looks"? I confess were I more exotic I'd be tempted to vanity.
no subject
Elf. So no, absolutely not human.
It solely depends on the looks, sometimes they could not care less and other times they'd rather see you drop dead. Depends on the city, as well. Pretty sure an elf going into, say, the Underdark, would end up in a lot of unwanted looks.
... Though I guess that's not a fair comparison given drow are far more hostile than humans.
no subject
"Absolutely"? I mean, I've never looked at a DNA comparison, but they look not dissimilar. I'm sure we must share a few genes, here and there.
Huh; no beneficent looks then? None of interest or...
[He would say "arousal", as "the exotic is erotic" according to some psychologist he forgets. He thinks better of it.]
Oh, the Underdark! I've heard of that. About as bleak as the name suggests, going by the reports. Had two arrivals hailing from there: a thief and a surly psionic. The latter, inexplicably, pined for it. Go figure.
[if he only knew those two were some of the kinder exports\
