Action
The Bay
[ Those who are around the bay can see a woman waking up dressed in a this with a sword on her back as well as a shield hanging on her arm. She sits up and rubs at her head, groaning lightly. The last thing she remembered was approaching the Temple of the Goddess with her chocobo and then she was taken here. Where was here? And why does she feel an overwhelming sense of dread here?
She notices the necklace on her as well as the pamphlet, briefly skimming both of them over. Okay, so this wasn't Nova Chrysalis, but Genessia. Okay, then. She rubs at her ear where the communicator rests, pushing a button into it. She wonders if it's worth it to do it, but maybe Hope was here or on the Ark. She just had to try. ]
...Hope? You there?
[ Nothing but static. Of course. Lightning should expect this by now. She's now alone, but that doesn't mean she's going to cry about it. She just has to play by this world's rules and then she'll be sent home to where she can complete her mission. She gets up to her feet, dusting herself up before looking around. She'll pick a random direction before walking in it. Hopefully she'll run into someone she knows soon enough. ]
Genessia City
[ When Lightning happens upon the city, she gives a cursory glance around the crowd to see if she'll find someone she knows. She doesn't notice anyone familiar, so that makes this a little bit harder. Still, she continues on and wonders if she's going to need to harvest Eradia here too. Bhunivelze would be that cruel, wouldn't he? So, occasionally, she'll be searching for people if they look like they need some help.
Perhaps you're in need of help. Perhaps you notice her or want to greet her if you didn't get to meet her by the bay. ]

You must be new? [Said with his most put on smile and hands at his side, the pad and pen he had now sitting by the side.]
Maybe I should formally welcome you, here. My name is Fai.
action;
Is it that obvious? [ She doesn't say this with derision. In fact, she's rather calm, albeit the small tease. ]
Lightning. It's nice to meet you, Fai. What can you tell me about this place?
action;
[He pauses for a moment, he only knew so much after all, he had only been here for at least a month, but he was quick on picking up things.]
I can tell you currently are in a place called Genessia City. There are four other cities surrounding this one and the only way to get to them is by stepping through an archway, which I've heard can be done with the necklaces we get when we first arrive. I can't say much about the cities past them as I have yet to really explore them, but I am aware of what they are called at least.

When she spotted someone who she figured was new simply because of where they were currently she made her way over.]
Are you looking for someone?
no subject
You could say that. Have you seen a white-haired boy around about this high? [ She gestures with her hand to mark Hope's height. ]
no subject
Well, I personally haven't heard of anyone that fits that's description, but I haven't really met everyone who gets pulled to this place either, so I can't say he isn't here either.
Acion
My my, if it isn't the little toy soldier. Funny that you'd be here~
[OOC: Lemme know if you're not comfortable with Kefka remembering her from Dissidia and I'll rework it. :D]
[ action ]
Have we met?
( OOC: I'm cool with it! Makes for some interesting CR. :3 )
[ action ]
[He makes a show of sniffing the air around them, and grimacing.]
Ugh, you still have that goddesses' stink about you. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that you don't remember the Eternal Cycle of Conflict. That would make things too easy, I suppose.

[ At least it was for her. She's not sure if others cope better than she--she's sure they do, really--but she knows being friendly is far more worth it than not. She keeps her distance, though. The woman gives off an aura of strength and power, and she's not sure what to make of her just yet. ]

[ Lightning has been pulled in so many different directions, but it's become the norm for her as of late. She does appreciate the friendliness, believe her. It's nice to see around here. She also doesn't blame her for keeping her distance. In Lightning's books, that's smart. ]
I take it you can tell me about your time here and what I have to watch out for, though.
no subject
Well, she feels a little tug of jealousy. All these people here, the ones she's met...they all seem so sure of themselves. Still, she gives her a tentative little smile. ]
Mm...I can try. I don't know nearly as much as the others, but...I do know that there are several sub-cities. You can get a job and a place to stay. If you're hungry, there are a lot of places to eat.
[ She stops and flushes a bit. Right. Introductions. Maybe Lightning can tell she isn't used to them--or meeting new people, for that matter. ]
Oh...my name is Naminé.

Her chest ached a little at that thought. But if it were unsafe, at least her friends, the people she loved, would be okay. Right?
So imagine Vanille's surprise when she sees Lightning. Her eyes light up, and she rushes over, a bright smile spreading over her face. They had never been terribly close, but Vanille still cared for her. Of course she did! They had been through hell and back together. And Vanille could never forget how Lightning had helped her. ]
Lightning!

She stopped in her tracks when she felt someone familiar around, and sure enough, she can see that bright orange hair and that smile. Vanille... At the very least, she's thankful that someone she knew and fought alongside with was here. But, she also doesn't really trust this place. It puts a mixed feeling within her. ]
Vanille. Are you well?
[ Did she remember her time in Luxerion, Lightning wonders briefly. There's a few questions she wanted to ask, but what if she was from a different time? ]
no subject
But she's happy, anyway, that there's another friendly face, one she knows is friendly for certain. ]
I'm alright. Getting something to eat really does wonders, y'know?
[ There's an air of apprehension around her, and she shuffles a bit, kicking at the ground briefly. She does remember Luxerion, the Soul Song, and afterward. She'd thought she'd be going to the New World, but her gut tells her this isn't it. ]
You alright? This place...it's a little...overwhelming, huh? Confusing. Though you never did get confused so easily!

He stands on a nearby building and looks down from his perch. With the ability to travel anywhere, with no need to rely on anyone, he's free. He has the sneaking suspicion that he's trapped somewhere else once again but at least he doesn't feel those nagging gods picking at the back of his head or hear the screaming souls through the Chaos.
He takes a seat on the edge of the building and smirks.]
Are you lost?
[He's honestly no better off. The advantage he has is that he simply doesn't care and he's beyond the normal boundaries of necessity. He's much more than human but that doesn't stop him from engaging in conversation with an old rival.]
no subject
I don't suppose you'll be willing to guide me around here, right?
no subject
No.
[He vanishes from view in the black miasma to reappear the same way near Lightning's line of sight. His sword isn't present which also is telling that he's not there to fight.]
There is no guide to see you through this place of flux and ambiguity. I cannot prepare you for what lies ahead. The roads are at an impasse, unable to guide you, unable to show you the way. Only you can decide.
However, I am not without mercy. You are still human.
[He points down one of the roads that leads out of Genessia toward another town.]
Your path is not so easily seen.
