[Somewhere over Fayren, Bridget is recording the slow beginnings of the sunrise. She'll have to head in shortly but she was starting to push the envelope more and more.]

I'm really starting to feel a bit stale without a species to protect or an insane criminal to hunt. I haven't even had to regrow anything for nearly a year. I think tonight I'll go visit the arena and blow off a bit.

[So what if it's been converted into some sort of factory at the moment? It's the one safe place to blow things up.]

I certainly wouldn't mind some company...

Hm, the kind that doesn't use 'babes' within his first ten words.

Betelgeuse laughed, shrugging.

"I gotta call you something and I don't know your name. What would you suggest? M'lady?"

[frostheartedrose]

"'Miss' doesn't tend to leave a sour taste or raise the urge towards violence," she stated dryly.

[betel_geuse]

He wrinkled his nose. "Miss? Makes you sound awful, like some schoolmarm or a kid. Maybe you should just tell me your name. I'm called BJ."

So very sorry, but I'd love to continue this if you're willing!

She's just going to let one eyebrow lift ever so slightly. A schoolmarm? Well, at least that narrowed him down to one quarter of the globe and a two hundred year window. "Worse, actually. I was in the military."

"Urgh!" Betelgeuse scoffed, making a deep noise of disgust in his chest. "Figures. Give someone a uniform and they're never any fun again."

Just for that, he's not going to find out her uniforms involved corsets and hip-high slits in her skirts. "It was far more fun than being a princess."

[betel_geuse]

Aws, he'd disappointed, if he knew that.

"Well, I should imagine. Not much fun in being a princess, unless you rebel. If I was a princess, I'd grab a sword and run off. If the prince wanted to tag along, I might let him."

[frostheartedrose]

"Not many places for a rebel princess to go back in the dark ages." The view of the lightening sky started changing angles as she started heading back to the ground. "Frostheart, by the way."

[betel_geuse]

"Oh, I could name a few. I lived back then, ya know?" Betelgeuse told her, shrugging. "Frostheart? Not the friendliest name I've ever heard."

At last the sky is obscured by buildings and she still sinks smoothly. Obviously she's flying back towards street level. "I doubt it was meant to be but I suppose I did earn it several times over."

[betel_geuse]

Betelgeuse almost commented about her parents naming her that, but...his name was Betelgeuse. He wasn't usually a hypocrite, so he swallowed the remark.

"Hey, we all break a few hearts along the way."

"Hearts, pride, armies... At least it wasn't 'The Terrible' or 'The Impaler'. The first makes me wonder about hygiene habits while the second... Hm. There are better entertainments to linger over dinner for."

Did she just make a joke? Couldn't be...

"Yeah, not a big fan of the impaling thing," Betelgeuse admitted in a dry tone. He'd never seen one, but that sort of thing still happened, when he was alive. "Personally, I've found you can scare and emasculate someone just fine with a well timed 'boo!'"
