[Backdated Nov 15] Another Year Wiser
Who: Koiball and Eyebrow-Grump
Where: Grumphouse
What: Grumpday
When: Nov 15th
Warnings: Koishi being cute. Excessive displays of platonic affection. Friendship.
It was not a day like any other. It was a special day. It was one of celebration and merrymaking. So, when Satsuki's alarm went off, she would wake to a pair of glowing green eyes hovering entirely too close for comfort. Also, there was an eyeball enthusiastically (and annoyingly) squishing itself against her cheek.
"Happy Birthday Miss Satsuki!" Entirely too loud for how close she was.
Fortunately she didn't stay there, zipping back and around a corner before peeking back inside the bedroom.
"Miss Satsuki. Get up. Get uuupppp." Her third eye was bobbing up and down excitedly. "I brought you breakfast. It's gonna be delicious so you should come eat it, okay?" From the smells in the air it's likely Satori had cooked it and not Koishi. "And when you're done I have presents for you. Really nice ones so I hope you like them!"
Looks like Satsuki was going to be celebrating her birthday. Kicking and screaming if need be.

"Nngh." With some hair in her face Satsuki cringes, and her eye opposite of Koishi's nudging opens while the frown upon her features increase with her rising annoyance. All right. Something about birthdays. Her birthday. Something about breakfast. Something about presents. She has work today.
Satsuki scowls as she sits up, hand raised to her forehead. "It is four thirty in the morning."

Koishi zipped back inside and there was the clatter of dishes and other things being moved around. Koishi in the kitchen without supervision was a disaster just waiting to happen. As comfy as the bed was, some haste was probably best...
"Hurry up! It's nice and hot right now!"
no subject
So now Anastasia makes her way out into the hall towards the kitchen, dressed in a Sylveon-themed nightgown holding one of her stuffed animals and trying to rub the sleep from her eyes.]
Saskiiii... Was going on? Why all the noise?
no subject
Gothitelle gets there before her and is already shooting a glare at Koishi while using psychic techniques to keep anything dropped from hitting the floor.
Once Satsuki takes notice of Anastasia, that's when a sigh passes her lips. Damn. It. Koiball. "Koishi has taken it upon herself to do something... Thoughtful. In her own way." she murmurs.

Koishi gestured to the poorly set table. On it was a large covered dish and a couple bowls. It was impossible to tell exactly what she had brought along just by looking but by the smell there was some form of cured pork and miso soup and rice and vegetables... Maybe some eggs too? It was hard to tell. There was such a variety of scents.
"Sis is a good cook so you'll absolutely enjoy it Miss Satsuki. And I have a whole day planned of fun and interesting things to do! I already left a note at your work telling them it was your birthday so it's fine, right?"
no subject
[Grumpy princess is grumpy. She hides a yawn behind her hand. As her two fairies, Sylveon and Ribombee show up to see what the noise is about, Anastasia turns and starts down the hall back to her room.]
I'm going back to bed... Save me some breakfast, please?
no subject
"Of course. And apologies for the noise; rest well." Satsuki replies. Normally she'd encourage Koishi to do so, but at this point it would be more trouble than worthwhile. It certainly does smell good though, and she takes a seat only to pause at the rest of what was said. "... In what world would that be considered 'ok'? Does the miko you spoke of skip out on work on her birthdays?"
no subject
"Absolutely! When its her birthday she makes sure everyone knows and even the youkai bring her gifts. And it sometimes turns into a party but she chases us away if it does because she wants to drink in peace." After all, this was Reimu.
"Miss Satsuki. Come on. Eat something. Then when you're full you can get ready and then we can go have fun!"
no subject
... Well shit. Koishi got her there.
With that battle lost, she opts to concede (for now) then take her seat before she takes a closer look at the food. It appears surprisingly appetizing, so she doesn't waste time taking her chopsticks and starting. This is much preferred to camping out already!
"Is it common to make meals for humans?"
no subject
Pleasant.
"Also human meals taste pretty good. So sis is pretty good at making them for that reason too." She was inching closer. "What do you think? Sis tried really hard but you should be honest, okay?"
The food wasn't perfect but it was far from bad. It was filling and the meat especially was seasoned perfectly. Satori, at least, had a lot of experience in that field.

While still eating. She might be getting a little too used to this.
"It is rather exceptional," 'for a youkai' goes unsaid. It doesn't compare to Ayame's cooking or that Food Wars guy but, for what it is, she found her expectation of 'decent' exceeded. "After we are finished here, I will need a moment to write a letter of thanks."
After some moments pass, she's almost finished.
no subject
Koishi was inching entirely too close... Well not entirely but certainly closer than was normally comfortable.
"Okay. Don't take too long writing a letter. Because then you need to get ready and then we can go have fun for the day!" Oh no. "I have all sorts of things planned and there are a bunch of fun things we can do and see. I know you'll love it!"
You're not getting out of this Satsuki.
no subject
".. I can hardly wait." Satsuki accidentally let sarcasm slip as she continued to eat. She couldn't imagine what Koishi could have cooked up that would last an entire day, though. From there, Satsuki finished breakfast ('gochiso sama deshita'), got changed, then wrote the letter which she handed over to Koishi in an envelope.
"Give this to you sister," she murmured. "So then, where are we to go from here?"
no subject
"Okay!" And into the pocket it went. Knowing Koishi and her pockets it would be more than a little wrinkled by the time Satori got it. Oh well...
"Hurry up and get ready for the day Miss Satsuki!" Still so excited, her third eye squishing itself into Satsuki's cheek. "We have a lot of things to do! At the zoo!" Wait, what? "You'll have so much fun there. The animals are cute. Also they have good food. Also, also you can learn a lot. I have more stuff planned after but zoo first!"
no subject
There was a predictable scowl that followed Koishi's third-eye press, but she's eventually changed up and ready to go. At least up the the point Koishi mentioned the zoo, which she responded with a raised brow.
".. I am not going to the zoo. I doubt it is even open."
I got super busy and then I got sick :(
"The zoo is the best place ever! It has all sorts of interesting animals. And some of them you can even pet and make friends with!" Oh goodie... "So you have the morning to get ready at a leisurely pace and then we'll head out and have fun all day!"
"Then we'll go out and have some cake and ice cream. I know that you'll love that too!"
Yikes, hope you've recovered!
With almost comedic timing, Satsuki's Frosslass and Furfrou padded in, ready for their walk. Satsuki looked down to them for a moment with her usual unamused expression, but her emotions proceeded to go haywire in a positive way- The irrationality of her feelings did annoy her but she's very fond of them. Or, more accurately, what they represent.
Ultra late. Sorry. ;-;
"Satsuki, considering it's your birthday I thought it would be nice if you spent some time at home. After all, I'd love to give you your present in person~"
*screams forever*
"..."
RIP positive feelings and Satsuki's expression falls a bit on the grim side. "Very well. Would lunchtime be acceptable?" she asks, attempting to give the insinuation that Satsuki's going to work as usual today.
Never fear! Koishi is here!
"Miss Satsukiii. I had your entire day planned. I told your work that you weren't coming in. I explained everything and they were okay with it..." Koishi probably thought work was calling.
"We're going to have fun. You're so bad at it so we're practicing. Okay?"
no subject
"I see one of your people needs a reminder of who it is they're working for. But, lunch would be acceptable, yes."
no subject
How's that for being bad at fun?
"Very well; I shall see you then."
It is not the best case scenario, but it's a compromise she can live with.
no subject
"You could have said you were busy, Miss Satsuki. We both know what that monster actually means by 'having lunch.'" And 'monster' was not a word Koishi used to describe others often, though this wouldn't be the first time she called Ragyo such.
This shift seemed to affect Noushuketsu, the article shivering visibly. "I'll come along and try to keep things civil, okay?"
no subject
The circumstances were different, obviously.
"I have other reasons to be present anyway; there are some things I need to know." Satsuki then murmured. At some point she does need to get a grasp of Ragyo's ambitions post the spirit invasion. That won't end up happening until REVOC's opening though. "However, I would not be entirely against your offer."
My. How tsun of you, Satsuki.
no subject
Though Koishi did calm down at the explanation though. "Oh... Well I suppose. But would she talk about business things on your birthday?" Hopefully so. The alternative was not fun to think about.
"And you bet I'm going." Her third eye widened. "Noushuketsu and I have your back Miss Satsuki. Nothing bad will happen if we're around!"
As reassuring as the message was, it was quickly followed up by a hug. Complete with tentacuddles.
