Who: Prompto Argentum and Belle
Where: Everywhere.
What: An innocent walk to take photographs.
When: November 25th
Warnings: Awkward cute, that's what.
Belle had informed him she wasn't busy, so he agreed it was the perfect time to do their walk. He's had the time to clean up from his long night, wash his coat so it no longer smelled of gunpowder and he arrived at her door promptly on time.
This didn't have to be awkward, he could to totally do it. She already said she wanted to go, she'd told him to come, obviously she wasn't going to say no then.
But what if she changed her mind?
Prompto hated social situations sometimes when he was still uncertain, he fidgeted nervously. Come on, if Noct was waiting for him, he'd just knock and she was his friend, he was sure of that.
He just had to do it and stop pacing in front of her door. Being friends with Noctis had spoiled him, he was so used to their routines prior to their adventure that he hardly ever tied himself into knots like this anymore.
Okay, he was not a kid anymore, all he had to do was knock. He took a deep breath, raised his hand and knocked twice, exhaling.
That was good.

"Just let me grab my cloak and I'm ready." Belle didn't have a jacket but with winter quickly approaching she thought to purchase some of the warming clothes here. The only thing she wasn't familiar with wearing was pants.
"I hope my home wasn't to hard to find."
She pulled a dark brown cloak over her shoulders as she grabbed a few of her things and placed them in a small bag. Finally she grabbed her keys so she could lock the door behind her.
no subject
He waited patiently as she got her cloak, taking measured breaths. He'd talked to Belle a few times now, he just needed to focus on that, and she smiled. She probably wanted him there. He shouldn't doubt himself.
"N-No, not hard at all, really." Prompto shook his head and stepped aside to give her the space to do that. "I brought my camera." He smiled and pulled it out of seemingly nowhere.
no subject
"I'm glad." they wouldn't be able to take pictures without a camera. "Did you have somewhere you wanted to go first?" Prompto had all of Belle's attention for the rest of the day.
no subject
"W-Well, I've been around Genessia a lot so..." He looked at his camera. "Maybe we could start in Nova City?"
He shifted his weight, a little nervous as he always seemed to be. "A-And I brought money. For lunch. A friend told me, um, I should probably feed you." He laughed sheepishly, he would've anyway, but he should tell her, so she wasn't surprised.
no subject
Her fingers tugged gently at her cloak as they slowly began to carve their path. Belle was fairly sure that Nova City was south.
"That's very kind of you. Thank you." She hadn't thought that far ahead. Belle felt lucky that Prompto had everything all worked out. "Is there something that you wanted to do for lunch?" She didn't know if he had something in mind.
no subject
Prompto let her set the pace, there wasn't much of a rush, and as long as he had his camera out he was feeling more confident than without it. It would always give him something to talk about if he couldn't think of anything else.
"It was a fun party." As far as parties went, anyway.
He shook his head at her question. "I don't know what, uh, we'll find, but when we get hungry we can stop somewhere. I'm sure there must be good places to eat everywhere, right?" He was hopeful of that much.
no subject
"It was. I had fun." She had been surprised at the party and exhausted by the time that she got home. She's never had so much happen in one night. "It felt a little bit like a dream or one of the characters in my books." Belle was slowly getting used to living her adventures.
"Yes." Belle smiled at him before looking at where they were headed. The archway was slowly coming into view.
"What do you usually take pictures of? People or houses or trees?"
no subject
He smiled, a little calmer. "Yeah? I'm glad you had fun. Parties for me are just a lot. Even when we were in school we didn't really go. It helps that my friend is kind of anti-social." For him, it was just how he was, for Prompto it made him an anxious mess. They were well-matched. "W-We'd play video games a lot."
He tried to think about how to answer her question. "Well, I've done some contract work for a magazine with specific place shots. I take pictures of me and my friends, and things like chocobos...a lot of animals actually." He laughed sheepishly. "I started with dogs. So I pretty much take pictures of everything, but um, d-don't feel you have to pose. I j-just thought you might like to walk."
no subject
"It's the same for me." She offered him a kind smile. "Though I don't have the experiance of large gatherings. It was... interesting. I think I much prefer to play video games." Even if she wasn't 100% sure what they were. She had gotten a book on some since she spoke to Prompto last.
Her smile widened. "I am very fond of animals. I used to have a farm that I tended too for my father." Belle looked down at her feel bashfully. "I wouldn't mind a picture of us. I'd like something to remember today." Not that she was going to forget anytime soon.
"Prompto." She whispered, pausing mid step while placing a gently hand on his arm. "Look there. Do you see it?" Belle's smile widened as she pointed to a tree a few yards in front of them with a bird hopping on a branch towards a nest. "What do you think of that?" She wondered if it was picture worthy or not though she'll leave the call up to her cute guide.
no subject
His smile got wider at her comment and he laughed softly. "Yeah, video games are good. It's a good way to pass the time in a...s-smaller setting." Honestly, he really appreciated her efforts to learn more about his interests. "But, we survived the party." It wasn't that bad. He could go to another, maybe, sometime.
"What kind of animals did you have?" Prompto really liked animals.
He smiled, he was blushing again at her confession. "Yes, okay, n-not a problem. I'll make sure we get a good one."
Prompto looked surprised when she touched his arm and he didn't startle, his mind just went on a panic lap because his very kind, female companion, wanted his attention.
Right. She asked him something. "Yes." He said, keeping his voice low.
A good rule of thumb was that, he always thought animals were worthy of photographing and he raised his camera, taking a moment to adjust the zoom. He wanted to make it a good one. It was a surprisingly good way to ground himself so his nerves didn't get out of hand. It took a moment of adjusting and then a soft click could be heard as he took the photo.
no subject
It was only after he had taken the photo that she realized that her hand was still resting on his arm. "Excuse me. I didn't mean to be so... informal." She had let the moment take her away and she hadn't been thinking. It wasn't proper for a woman to touch a man, not in the time of France that Belle was from.
"Or to stop us so abruptly." It had been such a beautiful sight though.
She glanced down at the side walk before raising her gaze to meet Prompto's. "We kept chickens and had a horse named Philippe. He was a very good horse." Belle smiled, her fingers curling around the edges of her cloak as she spoke.
no subject
He tilted his head and smiled at her. "It's okay. I d-didn't mind." He remembered to take in a breath, held it and released it slowly. "You can point things out. It's good." He hadn't expected to see that she was a little nervous too. That was kind of a relaxing thought. He wasn't alone. "And, I mean..d-don't hesitate to get my attention. Noct probably would've punched my arm."
"I've n-never ridden a horse. But I can tell you about Pryna." He commented, but he didn't move yet. He quirked his smile. His camera, while expensive, was also digital.
"Did you want to see the picture?"
no subject
"Pryna?" The name sounded familiar but Belle wasn't sure. She'd feel silly if Prompto had mentioned it before. "I'd like to hear about Pryna." She continued after a short pause. "I could teach you how to ride a horse here. If you wanted to learn." It wasn't so difficult and Prompto might finds that he enjoys horseback riding.
"Yes. Is that alright?"
Bell stepped close again, attempting to peer at the camera over his arm. Her shoulder bumped gently against his as she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Can you make all of your photo's appear?" She's never seen a digital camera up close before.
no subject
Prompto was merely wondering if it was weird to her. He nodded in agreement to tell her about Pryna and moved the camera so she could see easier. It was a small screen, granted, but there it was, the bird on the branch and everything.
"I can make all the photos on this card appear." Talking about his camera was really easy, actually. He pushed a button to make the picture change to the last one he'd taken, which was of a sunrise in the park while he'd been out running. "It's a pretty new one, so there's not that many."
He turns the camera, and pulls away a small piece of plastic before pressing the cartridge inside. Then he removes it to show her. "Two hundred pictures. That's how many I can take." He grinned.
no subject
Her fingers gently reach for the camera, tilting the screen to rid it of a glare. Her fingers brush against Prompto's before she retracts her hand back down to her side. "It's a very lovely picture."
Belle smiled up at Prompto. "That's a lot of pictures." Her fingers lace together as she continues their path towards Nova City. "Would you teach me how to use your camera?"
no subject
He seemed a lot less startled by her touch that time, but he still blushed a little, pink spreading across the bridge of his nose.
"I have a few of these cards already. I take a lot of pictures." Prompto's eyes lit up. "Yeah, sure! N-Next time you're ready, I'll let you take the next one."
He walked with her, smiling. "Oh, right, Pryna. S-So when I was a kid, there was this dog. It had a hurt paw and I couldn't just leave it there. I took it home and washed it up, fed it and wrapped its paw in a bandana. It escaped a couple of days later and I was really worried, but it turned out th-that Pryna was just going home. She belonged to Princess Lunafreya of Tennebrae." He paused for a brief moment to bow his head in respect to her passing. "And she wrote me a letter, thanking me. She asked me to b-befriend Noctis. To take care of him. S-So I did!"
no subject
Belle couldn't stop the smile that spread across her lips. It was an odd thing but Belle found herself watching the light dusting of pink spread across his nose. It was cute and very different from the nervous flushes that she'd seen him experiance before.
"That's a lovely story."
"Lunafreya." It was a lovely name. "Is she very close to Noctis?"
Belle knew she shouldn't compare people to books but she couldn't help but think of the valiant tails of Romeo & Juliet or rather, Noctis & Lunafreya. She pushed the thought away, thinking it improper.
"Pryna is lucky to have found you. Form what you've told me, Noctis is too." Belle smiled. "I'd love to meet him. Sometime." If he's willing.
no subject
"Lunafreya is..." Prompto began but stopped himself. "Lunafreya was his childhood friend. He spent some time in Tennebrae and they stayed in touch. When all of this started, our trip I mean..." He paused a moment, trying to think of how much to explain.
"There was going to b-be a treaty. A ceasefire. A condition of that was that they'd get m-married." He exhaled and shook his head. "But when they were meant to do that, Lady Lunafreya..." He trailed off, he was sure Belle knew what he meant.
"Noctis would meet you, I'm sure of it. I did tell him I met you." He smiled, he was surprisingly not upset, despite the conversation. It had been awhile since it happened after all.
"....I wouldn't ask h-him about Luna though."
no subject
"Are you alright? I hope I didn't pry too much."
She looked over at him as they walked. "I enjoy listening to you though. My life is rather boring." She wished she had those sorts of stories to tell him too.
no subject
He paused a moment and smiled, holding a finger to his lips as though this was a big secret. "Neither do I." He laughed softly. "Until I took this job, I d-didn't spend much attention to political stuff."
Prompto nodded. "I'm fine. You didn't. I don't mind telling you s-stories like that. I just, um, have a lot of anxiety." He looked flustered again. "N-Not because of you! I've had it almost always."
no subject
Belle nodded her head softly. "It's alright." She really didn't mind him being flustered. "We're almost at the archway for Nova City. I brought a map with me but I don't know if you'd want to use it." It was mostly so that they didn't get lost.
"I've never thought to ask but do you think the different towns have different animals?"
no subject
"Thanks, cause I probably can't fix it." He offered a weak little laugh. "N-No, I knew you didn't mind too much. You've put up w-without saying much. I just thought you should know why." Sort of, he didn't really get into the why he was having problems, as opposed to the problem itself.
"Good to have that, in c-case we get lost." It was good thinking and he offered her a grin in exchange.
"I don't know. I'd be interested to know." Prompto grinned. "I always wanted a dog, actually. Dogs are my favourite pets. You c-can't keep a chocobo as a pet, or it would win, but..." He was rambling a little, oops.
no subject
Her books clicked softly against the sidewalk, slowly as they neared the Nova City gate. She was depending on Prompto to take the lead forward.
"Why don't you get a dog while you're here? I remember that there is an animal shelter in Attleton." Though Belle wasn't 100% sure. She spent most of her time in Genessia. Even Everglade was more of the path to work than a place she's truly explored.
no subject
He didn't really think about it, he just directed them in what was probably a random direction once they crossed through the gates and he sucked in a breath. "Wow." Nova City was completely different and he couldn't help but stop and get a wide, landscaped shot.
"I've heard about that." He grinned. "I probably will go see them." Prompto was weak, he would probably get a dog. "I c-could have gotten one after I became a member of the Crownsguard, but I'm not sure...I had an erratic schedule for awhile."
no subject
Belle's eyes widened as they stepped into Nova City. She had been here one other time before but it had been just after sunset and she hadn't realized how big the city really was. "I don't think I could have every imagined a city like this." She looked over at Prompto in wonder. "It's amazing."
She continued to look over the city, only moving when Prompto had gotten the shots he wanted of the city scape. "Maybe we can find a way to one of the tops of these buildings. I'm sure it'll look amazing from up there too." Belle wanted to see everything if she could.
