So it has come to my attention that several aspects of my design might be... limited. I'm not the sort of robot programmed to think his creator's vision can't be improved upon, so I was wondering if there was anyone who could help me improve myself.
I need help with the following:
- Infrared/heat vision
- An upgrade to targeting sensors
- Arm mounted net launcher for non-lethal capturing
- Radio scanner, because my personal radio is only good for communications
If anyone would be willing to help, I'd be glad to help them out in exchange for security guard work, or as it pains me, manual labor. My primary weapons are sawblades, which are useful for harvesting lumber, construction, and shopwork. I don't have much to my name yet, but I can't get on my feet here unless I make up for some of my short comings, so all I can trade is work and time spent.
For the record, I don't want ANYONE messing with my core programming or anything else essential under the hood. That's never happening, and I've taken steps to prevent it if someone tries.
If no one bites, I... I guess I'll have to put my gears to the grindstone. But I figured it was worth asking.

[Which is mighty high praise considering the source.]
Should General Ironwood choose to assist you with these projects, you may tell him that I personally favor the upgrades and would consider them beneficial in maintaining the peace not only in Fayren, but elsewhere.
Keep me updated on your progress.

General Ironwood, huh? I haven't heard of anyone by that name around here.
The general is my superior officer. Much of my skill and experience is owed to his expert knowledge and instruction. He has an advanced understanding of robotics as well, though I do not claim to know the extent of his experience in the matter.
... I see. He sounds like he'd be helpful. If I meet him I'll mention you.

I'm k2So, a KX series model.

Oh hey, someone mentioned you to me once. I'm DWN-009 Metal Man. Call me Metal Man.
Yeah, I'm aware of the kind of tech they've got in Nova. I just figured I'd try my luck with people directly, to see if I could trade labor for the upgrades. I don't really have a lot of resources available to me right now.

Was it Cassian Andor? Nice to meet you, Metal Man.
That I can understand, this kind of changes is expensive. I haven't gotten any myself, particularly because of that reason.
I see. What is your function, if you don't mind my asking?

[Metal's kind of taken aback. He's not used to people being nice to him.]

Payment's not necessary. However, I would appreciate the names of any suppliers of quality materials and parts, should you find them.

That is so metal.

But what else would I be? Metal's kind of what they make robots out of.

Was your creator just not very... Creative?
And uh. I mean metal as in it's cool. Awesome. Like rock and roll.
[Text]
But no, I'm called Metal Man because it's my weapon. You know, it calls to mind things like sharp edges, and stuff like that.
... I'll consider the fact that it implies coolness a secondary meaning.

The infrared vision would take a bit of thinking on my part, it's not something I'm familiar with, but I'm willing to work it out for you.
A net launcher is pretty easy.
Do you have any scrap metal or tech lying around we can scavenge for parts?
Oh, and I don't need anything in return. I like tinkering with things. My name is Peter. Parker.
Text
As for targeting sensors, well. I need a specific lock-on feature. Right now all my software does is calculate distance and force needed to hit something, so it's not much better than human eyes.
... And are you sure? I don't feel good about getting something for nothing, Mr. Parker.
Text
I can't buy materials at home. We don't have that much money. That's a good question. I've been meaning to take a look around Nova City anyway, I'll let you know if I find something!
Then that sounds like a software issue, and codewriting, which is also fine,
but probably involves adding to your software as it is. Do you know much about coding? If I wrote the code with you, made sure it was right, you could apply it if you're not willing to let me do that. I wouldn't be offended. If I was an AI of some kind, I wouldn't want people messing with me if I could help it, I think.
[He'd never dream of reprogramming Karen.]
Definitely. It'll be fun!

Text | Sorry it took so long!
But in the time he's been here, he's met some that aren't half bad. A lot of the residents in Nova City are robots of some kind. And Kay's pretty cool. So maybe it's just the Geth and the Reapers that are super awful. And with his recent memories of Legion, he's willing (though still hesitant) to give this guy a shot.]
Hey, you still need some of those mods?
