WHO: Jerk Jacques Schnee and Jaune Arc
WHAT: Confrontations and an attack to ensure history will never repeat itself.
WHEN: A day or two after the party with Weiss and probably after the anon meme.
WHERE: Nova City, Mayor's Office.
WARNINGS: Violence
[He had held back. He hadn't agreed with Weiss but he had stayed out of the conflict with Jacques because he had gone too far already and he didn't want to ruin their friendship. He wanted to trust her. But the moment Jacques had taken Weiss and tried to erase her memories--who she was--restraint went out the window. He hadn't told anyone what he was planning and he wasn't going to. He understood the risks for what he was about to do. He didn't care. That racist, controlling, self-obsessed disgusting caricature of a human had essentially tried to kill of what made Weiss her. Jaune was sick of his friends getting hurt, so he would do what was necessary, even if it meant trouble for him down the road.
Which is why he knocks on the door to the Mayor's Office, not making a scene yet. His patience would be worth it.]

jerk schnee
Come in.
[He's shut down any work so when Jaune enters he'll see Jacques leaning back in his chair, hands clasped in his lap.]
Mr. Arc, to what do I owe the pleasure?
[It's very obviously not a pleasure.]
:D
That demeanor is mutual. The taut line of his mouth and jaw clash with the cold look he fixes Jacques with. The scumbag even sits like a cliche. He locks the door behind him, voice soft.]
Do you ever feel any remorse for everything you've done?
no subject
I don't know what you're referring to. I've done nothing but good for this city. I even got those rights for the robots like you suggested, which I definitely do not regret. If you're having second thoughts, I suggest you take them elsewhere. This is an inclusive place.
[It's bullshit, all of it, and he knows Jaune knows it is. He knows exactly what Jaune is talking about, but he's not about to admit to it. The door is closed, but that doesn't mean that no one's listening.]
no subject
Stop talking. Stop making all these...lies up, about everything. You almost killed your own daughter.
[Pause.] You never learned to activate your aura, did you? That's too bad for you.
no subject
This boy - no, man - has been trained on how to kill with that blade. Maybe not humans, but if he can kill a grimm he can certainly kill Jacques.]
Calm down and think about what you're doing. Threatening the mayor? You know that's not a smart move. And for what? I never intended to harm Weiss, but to help her. Will you really retaliate for an offense which I did not commit? [He's ever so slowly inching his hand towards the phone he's left on his desk, hoping that Jaune's anger is making him blind to his movements.] If you leave now I won't press any charges for threatening me and we can forget this whole thing ever happened.
no subject
[He edges nearer with his weapon, but he catches the movement. He might not be the most cautious fighter, or as smart as Weiss, but he's fought enough to know you need to always be aware of your surroundings and he didn't go into this thinking Jacques wouldn't put up a fight.
Well, it was probably going to come to this anyway. Arcing the sword like he's about to strike Jacques, instead he moves forward, using his left hand, armed with his gauntlet, to punch him square in the jaw.]
no subject
Unfortunately(?) for him, Jaune is only feinting, so when he tries to shield himself from the sword, he turns his face right into Jaune's punch. The force of the impact causes the chair to spin and he topples out of it, landing in an ungraceful heap with a grunt. He lifts his upper body and turns it towards Jaune; best to keep him at least in his line of sight.
He glances up at the desk. His phone is out of reach and he can't even see his door from this vantage point so he's on his own for now.]
It was food the good of the Schnee name! She's been dragging it through the mud and she was going to besmirch the family's reputation! You understand, don't you? Don't you want to make your parents proud to call you an Arc?
no subject
How dare he--]
Don't talk about my parents!
[He roars, only lowering his voice again because he doesn't want to alert anyone about what's going on. But that drop in tone might be a more forboding sign than if he continued shouting.]
My parents are good people. They're not like you. If you really cared about Weiss, you would love her over your stupid reputation that you've already messed up yourself. You're not a father. You're a joke.
[But Jacques... You still don't get it, do you? Jaune's certain he never will. He can't change someone's mind if they're too selfish to want to. All he can do is warn Jacques of the consequences. Make him afraid. Like Weiss has been afraid.
He walks over, until he's in front of Jacques on the side of the desk. Lifting up his hand, the same gauntlet seems to glow and ethereal blue. That's the only warning Jacques gets before Jaune throws a wall of water his way, channeling his aura into it so that it doesn't wash past him, but envelops him, almost like in a bubble. His eyes narrow as he focuses, placing enough pressure on the water to where if Jacques tries to escape, he won't be able to get past the walls.
Hope you held your breath, Jacques. It's time to see how deadly Dust can be firsthand.]
Jacques needs to get beaten up in the show so I can have some good icons for this
The gauntlet comes up, and while he doesn't know what it can do, he knows dust when he sees it. He cowers behind one hand, the other supporting him, and closes his eyes. When the water hits him, he gasps in surprise. After a second he notes that the water isn't still hitting him so much as it's just still there. He forces his eyes open, squinting to see properly, but they quickly widen when he realizes his predicament. The gasp didn't fill him with much air and he's already getting desperate for a breath. He tries to push on the wall of water and bangs on it when that doesn't work, but try as he may he just can't escape. His expression is quickly turning from panic into fear as he tries futilely to free himself from his confines. His lungs are screaming for air, and it's taking all of his willpower to resist taking a breath.
He looks up at Jaune's steely expression and thinks, for the first time, that he might very well die here.]
I hope it happens
Have you ever lost a memory before? You're left with this sort of empty feeling when it happens, like a part of you dies...and you don't een know what it is. It's not fun. I'd have to kill you countless times, just to get you to forget as much as you were prepared for Weiss to lose.
[He isn't going to kill him
not yet. He just wants him to understand that he's willing to. He wants him to feel as afraid as Weiss was, as everyone else he's ever harmed. But he isn't letting Jacques know that, eyes blankly studying his reaction.]Fingers crossed
On the upside he won't stay dead, but on the downside he's still going to fucking die.
He had always thought that if someone were going to kill him, it would be some faunus extremist group, not his daughter's overprotective best friend. When he comes back, he is most certainly going to have the man arrested, that's for sure.
The words Jaune's speaking are a little distorted through the water, and truth be told he's not fully able to focus on them. Partially because he's in immense pain right now (his eyes have been squeezed shut and his teeth are gritting together), partially because he's trying to focus on not dying, and partially because he's freaking out that holy shit he's about to die. Not that he'd really be able to respond anyway, since he's a little bit otherwise occupied.
There's also the matter of the very last thing he said. "I'd have to kill you countless times." Jacques is very much starting to wonder just how far Jaune is going to take this. The boy clearly has issues, but at the same time, he does have to wonder: Was it worth it? Even if he had succeeded, would it have been worth it if the price he's paying when it failed is torture and murder? What would the consequences have been had he succeeded?
He can't think on it now, though. He can feel himself growing dizzier by the second and he's sure that if his eyes were open his vision would be clouded with dark spots. If Jaune doesn't let him go in the next few seconds, he will lose consciousness and likely drown right after.]

He could just leave him there and finish the job. See how he likes giving up an important memory. It's not like he hasn't considered it. But he doesn't want Jacques to die. He wants him to feel like he did, and he wants that fear to always stay with him, so that he knows that Jaune could change his mind in a split second.
In one fluid motion, he forces the globe to break, millions of beads of water showering Jacques' office and probably ruining his desk, any technology, papers and books he might keep, as they all drop to the floor at once. He doesn't give Jacques time to recover. As long as he's still breathing in some manner, Jaune walks over to him and aims a hard kick right in the ribs.]
Get up. [Just in case he's not listening-- Jaune grabs him by the collar, lifting the frailer man up in the air like he weighs nothing. He practically hisses, a caustic, deadly edge in his voice.]
Answer me again: Do you even regret it? And don't lie or I will kill you.
[He's not lying.]
no subject
He'd stay down forever if he could, but he's barely given a chance to rest before Jaune hoists him up. It's a good thing he has him, because the way Jacques legs are shaking under him, there's no way he'd be able to support himself.
Still gasping (painfully now thanks to that kick), he forces himself to focus on Jaune's words, knowing that one wrong move could set him off. He weighs his options, using his labored breathing as an excuse to stall. He's pretty certain that if he says no, Jaune will just pitch him out the window. Best to show some remorse, then; besides, he definitely has some regrets now, just maybe not for the reason Jaune wants him to.
Best try to make this sound good.]
I was trying to do what was best for the family. I didn't know that it would be a traumatic experience for her to forget things. I just though that it... I just wanted to have My Weiss back. Between here and Beacon she's suffered so much trauma and I just thought that she would be happier without those memories. [He puts on the most remorseful expression he can muster in his current state.] I never wanted to make things worse for her.
[It's not entirely a lie. Does that count?]
no subject
Even now, you've chosen yourself over her. [Jaune would have died over and over, if it meant Weiss could be happy. For a split second, his anger diminishes, and he only looks sincere.]
She's not your Weiss. She's just Weiss.
[And then, still holding him, he charges forward. Glass shatters and rains on them both, but there isn't a scratch on Jaune or his armor. The sunlight that brightens his eyes contrasts against the action he's about to do.
But holding Jacques over the edge off his wealth and city he thinks that he owns, just like he thinks he owns Weiss, he tries to control everyone, something stops him.
He doesn't drop him. Not yet.]

Before he's even given a chance to defend himself, he's being used as a battering ram against his window, the window he likes to stare out below to watch his
subjectscitizens below. Unlike Jaune who has his aura, Jacques takes the full brunt of it, the shattered glass scratching his face and tearing his suit. His hands have grabbed on to the esge of the window, trying to keep himself from pitching out, and there is definitely glass piercing them. There's a spot on his back that aches terribly from where the broken point of the window is digging in, but that's not his top priority at the moment. The however-many-stories-tall-the-building-is drop in front of him most certainly is. His heart is going a mile a minute and he looks at Jaune, not even trying to hide the abject terror in his eyes. The blond is unhinged; one wrong move and he's convinced that he'll be tossed out. His voice is loud and panicked when he speaks, though there's still a rasp to it.]
Mr. Arc - Jaune - don't do this. You don't have to - [he makes the mistake of glancing down again.] I'm sorry! I shouldn't have done it, okay? It was a terrible thing to do and I - [He pauses and stares at Jaune, shaking. He wants the truth? Fine, if that's what it takes to keep him from being splattered on the pavement.] She's marrying a faunus! The Schnee name will be ruined! And she didn't even care how it would affect the rest of us! That's the truth, okay?
[The security outside the door has been pounding on it ever since the glass shattered. It's taking them a bit to get inside since Jaune smartly locked the door, but it probably won't take them more than a couple of minutes to either find a key or break it down.]
no subject
So why can't he just push him out?
He listens to the old man's begging, coming to the conclusion that Jacques, for all his status and false power, is actually quite pathetic. Even moreso are his reasons.]
His name is Sun. [There's disgust in his eyes.] And he's a better person than you could ever hope to be.
[He hears the pounding, distant and through static, as he just stands there and stares at Jacques. He could kill him. Screw up again, but for the right reasons. Would Weiss forgive him? Probably not. He would be ending his friendship with the one person to always believe in him, even when he messed up. And he had-- He was so messed up.
But that wasn't all he was. And he didn't want to lose that to someone like Jacques.
He grits his teeth furiously, whispering:]
Stay away from Weiss. If I ever hear that you talked to her without her permission, or laid a hand on her-- If I even suspect that you're planning to harm her, I won't give you another chance. And I will finish the job.
[Grabbing his shoulder with the hand not holding onto his collar, Jaune throws Jacques back into his office.]
no subject
He's never been more terrified in his life, even after Jaune implies that he's letting him live - this time.
He crashes over his desk, turning it on his side has he flies back into his office. He lays on his side for a moment to catch his breath before painfully lifting himself up on an arm (the other one holding his aching ribs) to see what Jaune's next move will be. He does not answer Jaune, having no words to defend himself with, lest he wants to set the boy off again.
In the backgroud, security personnel are still shouting for their mayor.]
Mr. Mayor, we're going to break down the door, okay? Stand clear!
[Jacques doesn't answer them right away. He lies there, watching Jaune with wide eyes before he answers shakily a couple of seconds later.]
Hurry!
[There's no saying that Jaune won't just change his mind, so the sooner they can get in the better. It shouldn't take them too long to bust down the door, which won't give him time to do much more harm.
He hopes.]
no subject
Why couldn't Emerald have been here?
But the sudden threat of arrest keeps him thinking, stopping him from panicking over anything else. Rolling his eyes, he starts pacing backwards to the window, facing Jacques and never leaving his eyes. He really hopes this would turn out impressive and not with him landing on his face. He has an impression to make. With the security guards about to take down the door, Jaune stands still. He can feel the breeze against his face--
He jumps out.
And uses Crocea Mors to cut into the side of the building, skating down in a mix of flying concrete and glass until he reaches the ground. It's kind of sad that the one time he managed not to trip that no one he really knew was around to witness it.
Bye Jack.]
