(no subject)

WHO: Jerk Jacques Schnee and Jaune Arc
WHAT: Confrontations and an attack to ensure history will never repeat itself.
WHEN: A day or two after the party with Weiss and probably after the anon meme.
WHERE: Nova City, Mayor's Office.
WARNINGS: Violence

[He had held back. He hadn't agreed with Weiss but he had stayed out of the conflict with Jacques because he had gone too far already and he didn't want to ruin their friendship. He wanted to trust her. But the moment Jacques had taken Weiss and tried to erase her memories--who she was--restraint went out the window. He hadn't told anyone what he was planning and he wasn't going to. He understood the risks for what he was about to do. He didn't care. That racist, controlling, self-obsessed disgusting caricature of a human had essentially tried to kill of what made Weiss her. Jaune was sick of his friends getting hurt, so he would do what was necessary, even if it meant trouble for him down the road.

Which is why he knocks on the door to the Mayor's Office, not making a scene yet. His patience would be worth it.]

[Jacques is less than pleased when his secretary informs him that Jaune was here to see him; he's certain that he's part of the reason that Weiss was freed, though he can't confirm it since the security footage was compromised. He really has no desire to see the boy, but he unfortunately has a free schedule today and his secretary knows it so he has no choice but to have him sent in.]

Come in.

[He's shut down any work so when Jaune enters he'll see Jacques leaning back in his chair, hands clasped in his lap.]

Mr. Arc, to what do I owe the pleasure?

[It's very obviously not a pleasure.]

[Jacques' eyes narrow. There was no need to lock the door. Something's up.]

I don't know what you're referring to. I've done nothing but good for this city. I even got those rights for the robots like you suggested, which I definitely do not regret. If you're having second thoughts, I suggest you take them elsewhere. This is an inclusive place.

[It's bullshit, all of it, and he knows Jaune knows it is. He knows exactly what Jaune is talking about, but he's not about to admit to it. The door is closed, but that doesn't mean that no one's listening.]

[Jacques was prepared for a confrontation, but he certainly didn't expect it to get violent. He just thought Jaune would yell at him, call him a dick, and storm out. The idea that he would threaten him with a weapon was never considered, and to say his words were chilling would be to put it mildly.

This boy - no, man - has been trained on how to kill with that blade. Maybe not humans, but if he can kill a grimm he can certainly kill Jacques.]

Calm down and think about what you're doing. Threatening the mayor? You know that's not a smart move. And for what? I never intended to harm Weiss, but to help her. Will you really retaliate for an offense which I did not commit? [He's ever so slowly inching his hand towards the phone he's left on his desk, hoping that Jaune's anger is making him blind to his movements.] If you leave now I won't press any charges for threatening me and we can forget this whole thing ever happened.

[Jacques' eyes widen in surprise when he sees Jaune ready to strike. He throws his arms up in front of his face (much good that will do against a sword) to protect himself as best as he can; he's no fighter and there's not even anything he could use as a makeshift weapon at his desk.

Unfortunately(?) for him, Jaune is only feinting, so when he tries to shield himself from the sword, he turns his face right into Jaune's punch. The force of the impact causes the chair to spin and he topples out of it, landing in an ungraceful heap with a grunt. He lifts his upper body and turns it towards Jaune; best to keep him at least in his line of sight.

He glances up at the desk. His phone is out of reach and he can't even see his door from this vantage point so he's on his own for now.]

It was food the good of the Schnee name! She's been dragging it through the mud and she was going to besmirch the family's reputation! You understand, don't you? Don't you want to make your parents proud to call you an Arc?

Jacques needs to get beaten up in the show so I can have some good icons for this

[Well, he clearly misjudged that one, and it seems like he's going to pay the price. He wants to argue back, claim that he has more than just Weiss to worry about (Winter and Whitley both share the family name), but before he can, Jaune is looming over him, and something in his eyes makes the words run away.

The gauntlet comes up, and while he doesn't know what it can do, he knows dust when he sees it. He cowers behind one hand, the other supporting him, and closes his eyes. When the water hits him, he gasps in surprise. After a second he notes that the water isn't still hitting him so much as it's just still there. He forces his eyes open, squinting to see properly, but they quickly widen when he realizes his predicament. The gasp didn't fill him with much air and he's already getting desperate for a breath. He tries to push on the wall of water and bangs on it when that doesn't work, but try as he may he just can't escape. His expression is quickly turning from panic into fear as he tries futilely to free himself from his confines. His lungs are screaming for air, and it's taking all of his willpower to resist taking a breath.

He looks up at Jaune's steely expression and thinks, for the first time, that he might very well die here.]

[Clutching his throat, Jacques has just one though: He is going to die. He is 100% going to die.

On the upside he won't stay dead, but on the downside he's still going to fucking die.

He had always thought that if someone were going to kill him, it would be some faunus extremist group, not his daughter's overprotective best friend. When he comes back, he is most certainly going to have the man arrested, that's for sure.

The words Jaune's speaking are a little distorted through the water, and truth be told he's not fully able to focus on them. Partially because he's in immense pain right now (his eyes have been squeezed shut and his teeth are gritting together), partially because he's trying to focus on not dying, and partially because he's freaking out that holy shit he's about to die. Not that he'd really be able to respond anyway, since he's a little bit otherwise occupied.

There's also the matter of the very last thing he said. "I'd have to kill you countless times." Jacques is very much starting to wonder just how far Jaune is going to take this. The boy clearly has issues, but at the same time, he does have to wonder: Was it worth it? Even if he had succeeded, would it have been worth it if the price he's paying when it failed is torture and murder? What would the consequences have been had he succeeded?

He can't think on it now, though. He can feel himself growing dizzier by the second and he's sure that if his eyes were open his vision would be clouded with dark spots. If Jaune doesn't let him go in the next few seconds, he will lose consciousness and likely drown right after.]

[Jacques can't take it any longer. Against all of his willpower, his lungs inhale. His only saving grace is that at that exact moment Jaune releases him from his prison. He rolls onto his side, his normally coiffed hair flattened against his skull, and coughs up the liquid before gasping desperately for the air he's been missing. Just when he starts to thank whatever god was out there, Jaune makes his next move, causing him to curl up his legs and lower his head with a cry of pain. he can't be sure, but he has a sneaking suspicion that a rib or two might have cracked under the pressure if the agonizing pain is anything to go with.

He'd stay down forever if he could, but he's barely given a chance to rest before Jaune hoists him up. It's a good thing he has him, because the way Jacques legs are shaking under him, there's no way he'd be able to support himself.

Still gasping (painfully now thanks to that kick), he forces himself to focus on Jaune's words, knowing that one wrong move could set him off. He weighs his options, using his labored breathing as an excuse to stall. He's pretty certain that if he says no, Jaune will just pitch him out the window. Best to show some remorse, then; besides, he definitely has some regrets now, just maybe not for the reason Jaune wants him to.

Best try to make this sound good.]

I was trying to do what was best for the family. I didn't know that it would be a traumatic experience for her to forget things. I just though that it... I just wanted to have My Weiss back. Between here and Beacon she's suffered so much trauma and I just thought that she would be happier without those memories. [He puts on the most remorseful expression he can muster in his current state.] I never wanted to make things worse for her.

[It's not entirely a lie. Does that count?]

[HE IS MISREADING EVERYTHING TODAY.

Before he's even given a chance to defend himself, he's being used as a battering ram against his window, the window he likes to stare out below to watch his subjects citizens below. Unlike Jaune who has his aura, Jacques takes the full brunt of it, the shattered glass scratching his face and tearing his suit. His hands have grabbed on to the esge of the window, trying to keep himself from pitching out, and there is definitely glass piercing them. There's a spot on his back that aches terribly from where the broken point of the window is digging in, but that's not his top priority at the moment.

The however-many-stories-tall-the-building-is drop in front of him most certainly is. His heart is going a mile a minute and he looks at Jaune, not even trying to hide the abject terror in his eyes. The blond is unhinged; one wrong move and he's convinced that he'll be tossed out. His voice is loud and panicked when he speaks, though there's still a rasp to it.]

Mr. Arc - Jaune - don't do this. You don't have to - [he makes the mistake of glancing down again.] I'm sorry! I shouldn't have done it, okay? It was a terrible thing to do and I - [He pauses and stares at Jaune, shaking. He wants the truth? Fine, if that's what it takes to keep him from being splattered on the pavement.] She's marrying a faunus! The Schnee name will be ruined! And she didn't even care how it would affect the rest of us! That's the truth, okay?

[The security outside the door has been pounding on it ever since the glass shattered. It's taking them a bit to get inside since Jaune smartly locked the door, but it probably won't take them more than a couple of minutes to either find a key or break it down.]

[Jacques stares speechlessly as Jaune decides what he's going to do with him. He's hoping that if he does go the murder way that he'll maybe do something a little faster than pitching him out the window where he'll be screaming his lungs out the whole way down.

He's never been more terrified in his life, even after Jaune implies that he's letting him live - this time.

He crashes over his desk, turning it on his side has he flies back into his office. He lays on his side for a moment to catch his breath before painfully lifting himself up on an arm (the other one holding his aching ribs) to see what Jaune's next move will be. He does not answer Jaune, having no words to defend himself with, lest he wants to set the boy off again.

In the backgroud, security personnel are still shouting for their mayor.]

Mr. Mayor, we're going to break down the door, okay? Stand clear!

[Jacques doesn't answer them right away. He lies there, watching Jaune with wide eyes before he answers shakily a couple of seconds later.]

Hurry!

[There's no saying that Jaune won't just change his mind, so the sooner they can get in the better. It shouldn't take them too long to bust down the door, which won't give him time to do much more harm.

He hopes.]
