2 Cookies Eaten [Action/Audio.]
The next time Yang wants Pop-tarts, she can go and pick them up herself. The last thing Ruby had expected was a bunch of goons to ambush her on way from the store. While Ruby could say that the majority of these guys were going to be spending some time in the hospital after this encounter, she couldn't say that she won either. One of those goons managed to land a land a lucky shot that left her dazed and unable to defend herself from a second shot that knocked her unconscious.
This was the worst day ever.
When Ruby regained consciousness, she was welcomed by a throbbing headache and a pain in her back. The headache was probably thanks to shot that knocked her out and the sore back was probably thanks to the pipe she was tied up to.
...Wait a second... Those thugs tied her to a pipe!?
Normally Ruby would start to run around in circles and panic, but she couldn't do that at that the moment so flailing around against the pipe would have to do. Once she got the initial shock of her situation out of her system she took a few deep breaths and began to look around to see just how bad it really was.
It looked like she was in some sort of underground waterway or sewer. Her hands were tied behind her back. Rope pinned her to the pillar at her ankles, knees and waist. There was a steady stream of water flowing into the room, right now it go over her feet but seemed to be slowly rising. Crescent Rose propped up against a wall a few feet away where she couldn't reach it, great. There also seemed to be a note posted up beside Crescent Rose, it didn't take her long to read it over but by the time she was finished she could feel her heart pounding in her chest.
1. Read off that speech and if you deviate from it by a single word you will die immediately.
2. You can talk to anybody but if you even attempt to speculate about where you are, or about who brought you here, you will die immediately.
This is the worst day ever.
Luckily whoever had done this to her had been nice enough to leave her phone in her reach. It took a bit of time thanks her to trembling fingers and not being able to see what she's doing in the first place, but she managed to start up an audio broadcast.
[Audio]
O-once upon a time, Little Red Riding hood was bringing a basket through the woods to grandmother's house. But in these woods were many dangers, and soon she found herself being hunted by the Big Bad Wolf. The little girl ran and ran as fast as she could but try as she might, the Wolf followed her through those dark woods until she had nowhere left to run.
Now the wolf has her and he's brought her all the way back to where her story began, and is getting ready to gobble her up. Unless a brave huntsman can come find her before that happens.
The water is rising and the clock is ticking. Three hours.
Move quickly. There will be no resurrections today, nomatterwhatpriceispaid.

She does give one last glance backwards though, noting the kids gathered at the window and cheering the three on in their quest to rescue the damsel, and she can't help but smile again, despite the circumstances.
Still, her expression is serious again when she looks forward.
"Attleton! When I went exploring when I first got here I found an Archway there that led to a city called Paris. When I asked one of the locals about it, he said it was in a country called France." It was actually a beautiful place too. She'd wanted to visit it again but... maybe not in these circumstances. "If we're right about this clue, she must be there!"

Because if this wasn't the right path, then it would be Yang's fault for being unable to control her temper. She would never forgive herself for that.
* * * * *
Pigeons scatter as the three teammates burst through the archway into a rustic and beautiful city. So this is France. Yang's fists are raised as if she expects a fight, but there's none forthcoming. "Whoa, look at all the peasants. Where do we find places with rising water around here?"

"I don't know anything about this place... Seems pretty old-fashioned," He says, pushing his sword into his shield, but not closing the shield up, just leaving it on his arm. "Think they have some kinda sewage system? She was somewhere with a pipe, right...? Hm... Man, how much time do we have left?"
Man, he's really racking his brain on this one.

"Somewhere underground with water running into it. We should split up, search the city."

[Audio]
Paris. [Wait... maybe we should clarify.] The Archway leading to that copy of it. Ruby's in trouble and we think we can find her here.
[Somewhere....]

[Changing to the Blue setting, Sofia flew off and activating her supersonic flight while keeping at eye on the suit's battery level. She's never been to any of the Archways before. Right now she wish she did more reconnaissance of this world. Clenching her fist and gritting her teeth in frustration on the way. So much for a vacation when a friend is in trouble in a way that brings back bad memories, and she's facing off with someone who's so much like her very own rival back home. She could call for reinforcements, but her pride told her not to. She's dealing with this herself. Not long after, Sofia arrived in Paris]
Made it. Where do you want me, boss?

Even so, Blake is cut off guard by the sound of jet engines incoming and looks up to see the suit of armor coming her way. What the hell?!
She jumps back a few steps, crouching a little and reaching back for her weapon's hilt, only blinking when she hears Sofia's voice comes out of the suit.]
Sofia? [She straightens, letting go of Gambol Shroud and blinking at the suit. Later. She could ask later.] She's underground somewhere that's filling up with water. We're trying to find out where that is, maybe a waterway or something similar. Do you know this city?
no subject
Not this particular one, unfortunately. It's too archaic from the Paris I know.
[She pauses. Wait a minute. Ruby sent a message via the necklace. That's some form of tech, so she could possibly track it with VI. It's worth a shot]
I got an idea. Let's hope it works.

What is it?
[She steps closer, watching whatever it is Sofia's up to.]

[Sofia closes her helmet, soaring directly upwards with an open map of the area. Ordering VI to expand the radius of the radar. It could see down to 50 feet from the ground level, and with only a few electronic signatures in the area, she'll be able to spot the only one that isn't moving. If that's in a waterway or a well, then it must be where Ruby is]

"Have you seen a girl in a red cape and hood?"
"Did you hear an explosion around here in the past couple of hours?"
Someone around here had to have seen something. Her eyes skimmed the streets as well, unsure if she would find manhole covers that led to the sewers or not.

[No text this time, no words or mocking.
Just a video of Ruby taken from a higher angle. Showing the girl struggling in the churning water that's up past her shoulders now.]

You sick FREAK!
[FIRE. Just like he wanted.]

I do try my best.
Don't worry, I'm not heartless. I'll tell you where you can find the body so you can give it a proper burial.

Fifteen. Twenty. Thirty. Just numbers. Everybody's got one and the count always stops somewhere. Where it stops isn't really all that important in the end.

Tell me, which of your other two friends do you like better? The clown or the freak? I'd like to know for next time.

I told you, try me on for size! See how well you fare then!

"Okay, water... water, uh..." Jaune was running around like nuts, trying not to trip over his own shoes as he did, "Does Paris have docks? Lakes? Uh..."
Imagine his surprise when he stumbles upon the Seine River - one that runs right through the city. "Wh-- Crap! How far does this go?! Man, why couldn't there have been another hint..."
Jaune slumped over, hands on his knees, panting for breath. "C'mon..." He panted, before picking up in a run again, along the river's edge, "Where are ya Ruby...?"
