Sonico is Sorry [video and action]

*Sonico appears to be in some kind of bar or nightclub. Anyone who recognises the place will know that she's grsbbed herself a seat all alone at the Hangar Queen. She isn't dressed for a fun night out, nor does she look especially happy*

The thing is...

*As she starts to speak, she actually just seems downright miserable*

That's not the kind of woman I am. To anyone I met, or anyone I saw... I promise you. I'm a better person. I really am.

*She drops her gaze as she keeps trying to convince herself, and takes a drink from her bottle of beer*

And Mobius - he - He's a good man. He's a wonderful man. We all said and did things - I - Please. He is a good, good man. Forgive him for the actions that he did not fully realise he was committing...

*Then she stares away at some unknown spot and is too slow at wiping her eyes, a few tears escaping and splashing down her cheeks*

I'm sorry... I'm so sorry.

[Action]

For anyone wanting to find her, or anyone already in the Hangar Queen, Sonico is that girl sitting on her own, half way through one of those buckets of beers that are supposed to be shared with several friends.

[Even with the music playing in the club, it isn't hard for Gale to overhear (and see) Sonico in the corner. He isn't the one who served her that absurd amount of beer, but he is the one to bring over some ice water and a few snacks for her before dropping into the booth seat across from her.]

Talk to me, doll. That face and that amount of drink has got me worried. [He nods at the water.] And make sure to drink that too.

*Seeing Gale doesn't make her look any happier. If anything, it seems to bring fresh tears to her eyes, but she's quicker at using her sleeve to wipe these ones away. She looks at him and shakes her head. There's a few moments where she stares at the table before she sniffs and begins to speak*

I messed up, Gale... I really messed up. I don't know how - I didn't mean to -

Deep breaths, kid. Take it slow.

[He leans back in his seat and folds his arms, all while Mareep comes over to the tableside and looks up at the two curiously.]

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume this had somethin' to do with the past week, yeah?

*After rubbing her eyes again, Sonico swallows and nods, then takes a long drink of her beer as she calms herself down. She appears to have forgotten about that water there*

I wasn't myself... I - I mean...I was but I. I really truly wasn't me.

This place made a lot of people act weird. I know you're a good person.

You weren't even too bad then.

[He'll slide the water a little closer to her just as a silent reminder.]

Whatever you and that Mobius guy did this past week, you can't exactly be blamed for. I wasn't myself either, and I'm certain more than just the three of us were affected. I mean hell, one of the Guardians got booted from their position by a deputy apparently.

[He cups his chin in his hand, leaning forward slightly with his elbow propped on the table.]

This place just decided to mess with us again, like it's done numerous times before. It ain't worth gettin' yourself drunk over. If it was, then everyone would need new livers.

You weren't?

*Sonico lifts her eyes to him again - even if he wasn't himself, that didn't mean he was busy treating others like dirtt for a week*

But Mobius - he's in prison. And it's not his fault. If anything then it's my fault...

[ He's really not in the mood to be social, but ignoring Sonico's misery is a little more than Cassian can manage even while wallowing in his own. ]

Sonico... [ His voice is soft, far softer than normal. ] I'm sorry, too.

I know you're a good person.

[ And Mobius is in prison? What the hell?]

[And he wasn't - the exact opposite, actually - but how they acted differently certainly wasn't the point he was making.]

I'm sure after this whole mess, you'd probably be able to appeal to whatever Guardian is holding him. That'd be bad publicity for the upcoming elections to hold a guy if he wasn't in his right mind alongside everyone else in the world.

[He has to wonder to himself what that bird brain even did to land himself in jail.]

Don't fuss over it too much, doll. I doubt he'll be in there for long. He might just have weeks of community service to worry about.

Really? I can do that? You think it would work?

*Sonico drains what was left of her beer and slams the bottle back down on the table*

I'm going to do that right now!
*She gets up very quickly to her feet, but after wobbling a slight second and closing her eyes, she sinks back down onto her seat*

Maybe I should wait til morning. And. And I'll get him out and help with community service and everything will be all wonderful!

[he hasn't met this girl before, but she looks emotionally compromised. he spotted others reacting this way too... was it possible that the effects of whatever was changing people was being reverted? he observes at first, but then he realizes even though he hasn't met her before, he...should probably say something.]

[When he sees her wobble, he gets ready to stand up to steady her but he sits back down when she is safely back in her seat.]

Yeah, that was an awful lot of beer just for one person. You'll want to take it easy tonight.

[He moves the glass of water closer to her again.]

Drink that. You'll probably want mostly water for the rest of the night. Keep yourself hydrated so you don't get yourself sick.

I can give you a ride home too if you need it. Oh, and worst case scenario if appealing to the Guardian doesn't work, I'm totally available to bust 'im out for ya.

[It's hard to tell if he's joking or not. That grin says he is, but...]

Was this because of the strange things I saw going on with people acting crazily different?

If so it's not really something you could control. This world seems to make it a habit of doing things that make people feel guilty but I am positive the people here will be forgiving.

Y' in a talkin' mood or y' gonna stonewall me? I got a few minutes if y' need a good ear.

*Wow Sonico, no need to look so sad. But when he talks about busting him out, she looks up again suddenly with eyes wide and leans onto the table*

Really? Will that work? We should do it!

*Sonico just slowly shakes her head and looks at the bottle of beer in her hand*

*No, Cassian, don't be so gentle and speak so softly - it's making her eyes wet. She looks at him sadly for a moment before lowering her eyes again*

*While he observes, Sonico just takes a few long drinks of her beer but setting the bottle on the table. When he speaks, her eyes lift to his*

*And now she's saying all this to someone she hasn't met and that makes things worse*

I suppose... There were a lot of us who were really quite out of sorts.

*Sonico nods slowly without looking at the camera*

I can only hope so...

*Let her just look at him with those big sad eyes of her for a moment or two*

Talking is good... It's hard. But it's good...

*Sonico just keeps her eyes on the table as she nods her head slowly*

[ He looks like he's feeling rather badly for her. ]

*Sonico tilts her head and looks at him with appealing eyes. She does really just want someone to tell her that it's all okay*

[ And you, don't fight with tears, it makes his own eyes burn, too. ]

We've all become people we would be ashamed of.
