So... I've noticed lately. There's quite a bit of vampires coming to Genessia lately. I'm just curious. What kinds of vampires are you guys familiar with. What are they like? I've already noticed years ago while I was at Wonderland that there are different kinds from different worlds.

I guess I should introduce myself first. My name is Rose Hathaway and I've been here for about 2 months now.

I'm what they call a Dhampir from my world. I'm basically a half-human/vampire. I'm more human than I am vampire, really. I do have Moroi -- or rather a pure blood vampire from my world -- blood in me, so I'm a little faster and stronger than your average human. Luckily, I don't have to worry about blood and I can eat whatever I'd like.

Back in my world, Dhampirs become Guardians for the Moroi because they are picked off by your typical stereotypical vampires that you see in movies and stuff. Nearly invincible and very dangerous, Strigoi are made and are very powerful, even as a new born.

Let me get this straight... Dhampir and Moroi are born, not made. Strigoi are made.

I believe that is all I wanted to address, so feel free to get back to me if you'd like.

[Rose has no shame in telling people who she is. She's gotten over that a long time ago while she was at Wonderland. And with that, she turns off her feed.]

[Great, this sounds like a lecture on Cie'th and he's quite familiar with those. Caius listens as Rose continues on and picks the name Strigoi as a name of a type of Cie'th that roams the plains. It's not a pretty picture. He groans under his breath. Yes, he's not pleased to hear that other worlds have encountered them but one thing strikes him as odd. The other terms are not as familiar to him such as Dhampir and Moroi.

He knows he's not a Dhampir and he never was but he was a Guardian in another life. He still counts her as a tainted human because of the term Vampire was used in connection to the Guardian. It's something to learn and something he shouldn't judge on. She didn't seem l'Cie nor can he sense the brand.]

Tell me, what causes a Strigoi to come into being?

A Strigoi is made.

Basically, A Strigoi is made when a Moroi kills somebody while drinking their blood. It may be from feeding or intentional means to become more powerful. There are a ton of reasons to do it, but most the time it's for power. Although it is possible to forcibly turn anybody into a Strigoi by forcing the person to drink the blood of a Strigoi.

[His nose wrinkles a bit. He's heard of things like this happening in pocket communities as a nomad but never quite like that. It disgusts him even now. His expression changes again to a calmer one and nods once.]

Yes, I heard you mention they are. Are they a threat here?

[He hadn't sensed anything like that around but then again he wouldn't know what he's sensing even if he came across one.]

So far, I've only sensed a few vampires here, but it's hard for me to tell what kind they are here. Back home I generally knew who was human and who was Dhampir/Moroi/Strigoi. It's hard to tell in a world that has so many variations as to what kind they are though.

As far as I know, there are no threats. Not unless the vampires here now decide to go batshit crazy. I haven't sensed any Strigoi from my world.

[ Vampires are not the best conversation pieces. At least, not in Annette's opinion. She frowns and shifts, closing her eyes and letting the memories of her abduction by Dracula flow over her; the fact that because of vampires, her husband had to leave her side every few nights... the fact that he hadn't come home for an entire year... ]

Well, Miss Hathaway... my experience with the vampires in my world have not been pleasant. They are blood thirsty creatures who will go out of their way to make your life a living hell... the most prominent in my world is Count Dracula, however.

Dracula.... I've only heard mythical stories about Dracula, but I've learned a long time ago to not question the possibility of such myths to be real.

In my world, Moroi and Dhampir are general good people and aren't exactly blood thirsty like most movies and shows portray them, but it certainly fits under Strigoi to be blood thirsty and dangerous.

Mm.. the only Dhampir I know of in my world is Alucard, the son of Dracula. He saved my little sister and my husband from certain death in Dracula's Castle.
