[When Dante clicks on the video, he can be seen spinning Rebellion on its tip, a single finger steadying the great sword as he lounges at his desk. He was far from the normal devil may care attitude he usually had.]

So. This last week did a number on a lot of us. Myself included. I was just lucky enough that my particular alternate self was something of a hermit. But it did show me one thing. I've got issues. A lot of them actually, but this one is something I can actually do something about.

I'm gonna come right out and say it. I need someone to fight. And I'm not talking a barely making contact sparring session, I need someone I can punch through a building and who can do the same to me. I need a fight that I can really cut loose with. The patrols I do help keep the edge off but that need is still there.

It has been a while since the last time we spoke, but if you are looking for an opponent, I do not mind obliging you.

I make my living hunting demons that can wipe out all life on the planet by themselves if they wanted. You don't last long in that field if you're not tough.

[Dante blinks. She wasn't kidding when she said it'd been a while.]

I didn't take you for much of a fighter. You sure you're okay with the whole "punch through buildings" thing?

[ Dante merely receives a smile in return. ]

I will admit that I am much more of a lover than I am a fighter. I assure you that I have lived through much worse punishment than simply being sent through some buildings.

[Hey, look - it's that "certain person"!]

Sure, I'll fight ya!

Aw, man! That's no fair! I haven't had a fight since I got here! [Besides, he's always late to fights!]

Explain to me how martial combat will help you solve these 'issues' you claim to be dealing with.

[Because she's not seeing the connection, for one thing. For another, if a fight was the only thing he wanted from the bidding war, he should have just said so.]

My shop is probably the safest place. It's nice and deserted.

If a fight is what you truly desire, then I require a proper explanation before making a qualified decision.

My issues are mine to explain or withheld. If you want the info, you show up. I'm not keen on giving someone like you access to secrets over an unsecured channel.

[He reaches over and pulls a bottle of whiskey out, taking a long drink.]

Just be glad your elf-friend won. If you had gotten in the ring with me, you probably wouldn't have lasted a full five seconds.

No. It's not sufficient. You've heard my terms, and considering I'm the one in control here, since it seems your curiosity has been piqued, I'm not inclined to change them.

But tell you what, I'll even be so kind as to let you have the first hit if you do work up the courage to come by my shop. I've got an itch I just can't seem to scratch and you seem like you'd at least scratch that.

You seem to be fluctuating on your opinion that I would be a worthy opponent versus one who would scarcely last five seconds. Perhaps you should make your intentions clear.

I have conditions as well. Namely, I require an explanation for your actions tonight at the auction. What were your intentions if you had managed to win?
