Operation 23 | [Video] - Backdated to December 15

[The feed starts up to show Gale, decked out in his piloting garb sitting on the railing of the balcony that oversees the After Life club floor. How is the video perfectly in front of him when there should be nothing to hold it up? Magic, of course! Ice magic is a very handy thing to have control of. Gale simply smiles and pulls off the butterfly mask to address the feed, waving at the device.]

Gooood evening, dear Genessians. Why, it's Guardian Election Time again, isn't it? Such fun twice a year, isn't it? So let me preface with my usual shpiel- drinks of the alcoholic and non variety are half off again 'till the election's over with! This goes for After Life, Hangar Queen and Holy Diver, and I think this'll be a thing for every election period.

Now then! [He claps his hands.] There's something else to go over!

Yours truly is running for Nova City this time. Am I drunk, you might ask? Nope! I can't get drunk! I'm as serious about this as a guy like me can possibly be.

[Which in reality is none at all, but he's taking it seriously enough.]

But let's be real, I know none of you care about this until the debates and the polls roll around, so I'm not gonna go into it any further than that. So let's just enjoy your drink deals 'till then.

Oh, and if any of you try to put campaign posters anywhere near any of my clubs, I'll burn 'em without a second thought. K? K. These are politics free zones, thanks.

Well, this is a surprise. And I thought you didn't care for politics. It brings me back to when we first met...

[He still hates politics in all forms, but really, who's to say he's not doing this to fuck with people.]

Who knows, maybe I'll discover a new love for politi-pfff okay I can't even finish that. But protectin' people is something I can do at least.

Well, that is true. I still don't understand all these politics myself. But it's my desire to protect people that drives me more than my opinions on politics.

But who knows, perhaps being a City Guardian will help you appreciate politics.

[She'll give him a bright smile to encourage him even more.]

[He says this in a light hearted tone, but goddammit Faye.]

[Huh, that was actually a little surprising to hear, but it does make Gale flash a quick smile.]

Welllll, maybe. Turnin' over a new leaf sounded interesting, and it keeps people guessing about me.

[He glances from side to side (not that anyone would be up there to spy on him) and plucks the device from its icy holder, dropping himself into the seat on the balcony and switching the video to private with a grin.]

Okay but seriously though? Nope! I am absolutely seein' how far I can get purely on bullshit. And I want to see a certain mayor squirm.

... I mean, if I somehow won, then I gotta get my shit together for real, but I'm not expectin' to beat out the current guardian pair.

[He pauses then cups his chin in his hand.]

By the way, your schedule open tomorrow night?

[He chuckles a bit, shaking his head.]

No occasion, just feel like spendin' money on a beautiful woman. Besides, I wanted to offer earlier this month, but apparently Genessia decided I wanted to think I was a prince for a week instead.

So, what do you say?

*Faye just looks at him for a moment, pokerface on, considering. Normally she would jump straight in and say yes, but after what has just happened in the auction, she's really not high on her self esteem. Sure, he could ask any beautiful woman he wanted, but eight now he's asking her. And who is she to say no?*

Alright. Deal. Just say when. Although... I'll have to see if I have anything to wear...

*Okay so now she is fishing*

How aboouuut... 5? I'll make reservations at some fancy place and then we can get an early jump on the shops?

[He tilts his head slightly.]

Oh, Faye, dear. Are you asking me to take you out now to get you an outfit for the occasion?

*She laughs then pretends to look shocked*

Oh, did you think I was hinting? Well... I suppose if you're offering... We could shop. Or you could pick something out for me. Like a surprise.

Oh honey, it is far too cold for what I would pick out for you.

[He has a wry smile with that remark. He has no shame.]

Now honestly, would you really trust a guy like me to pick out something for you?

Hmm... I think it could be fun. What I'd pick out for myself wouldn't exactly be warm...

*Then it was her turn for a wry smile*
How about I choose my outfit. You can feel free to furnish it with an accessory if you like...

With someone who's as good looking as you, you might get my vote.

[He pauses and blinks, looking down at himself. He shrugs then, taking one of the red wires hanging from his neck in his hand and begins to twirl it at his side.]

My old pilot suit, specifically designed for me and a certain model of aircraft in mind. Not much use in that department anymore, so it got downgraded into my bounty hunting outfit.

[He's quite fond of it. Though he does quirk an eyebrow slightly.]

And uh, I don't think we've met before.
