[He does pretty well on that front, getting steady work from his official licenses, from the boards and also picking up jobs from the paper to supplement that. He's managed to grow a decent amount of savings and he was just left a sizable pile of funds.]

[Which he can afford due to the extra money Wade left for him but while he protests about cost, it's just sitting with those memories and the absence of Wade - despite the occasional annoyance - was bothering him. I was in school at home but, I don't have to be here.

[He smiles and shrugs, who is going to make him? He doesn't need it, he can study on his own.]

I have more time to read things I enjoy, like biophysics and mechanics without school.

And I'm Cad Bane.

Yep! [He smiles cheerfully.] I was in the robotics club at school, but they were the kinds that you build for a remote control, we didn't program any AI into them. They were just for fun.

[The name doesn't even phase him, he just reacts with a nod, he'll remember.]

Robots are really interesting, and I would've liked to make one with artificial intelligence, but even if my school was specialized, that kind of programming costs money I didn't have, but the parts were all salvaged from discarded equipment.

I've built a few other things, I like to tinker with equipment and that kind of thing.

If I gave you some funds to work with, think you could tinker for me? I used to have a droid for fetching and carrying sort of work. Small, mobile. It doesn't have to be very smart. Just able to follow instructions.

[He nods enthusiastically.]

[For somebody who roomed with Deadpool, Bane remains pretty grim and humourless. It doesn't seem to bother him that Peter may be not paying full attention to his job as he doesn't remark on it.]

[Peter goes into the sandwich shop and orders the biggest one they have with soup, salad, chips and a big soda, lots of calories to eat. He even picks out three cookies. He pays for the big meal and grabs a seat at a table to wait for his new friend? He could befriend him, in fact, Peter thinks he should.]

[Bane arrives shortly after. He isn't too far away as he also lives in Genessia but he did have to first check on the location. He appears in the doorway like a Wild West film villain entering a saloon. Twin blasters at his hips and very much looking the part of ruthless bounty hunter. Except this one is a six foot tall blue alien with piercingly crimson eyes. He sees where Peter is sitting and strides over to him, giving him a look over that doesn't seem all that impressed with the skinny kid. But he's here.]

Parker, is it?

[He's got blasters and he's huge and blue, that is just awesome.]

I'm Peter, yeah, hi!

[He offers his hand jovially, to shake it.]

[Bane looks at the offered hand with a disagreeable expression as if he disapproves of the gesture before he does take Peter's hand for a brief shake. It isn't a common practice where he's from but he is aware of it around here. He's wearing fingerless gloves and so his blue fingertips are exposed and his skin may be cool to the touch.]

So how quickly and how well do you think you can build a small, working droid?

[Straight to business, Bane isn't good with small talk or pleasantries.]

Well the droid itself shouldn't be too hard once I get the materials, it's the programming. What kinds of things do you want it to do?

I mean, I can have it done in two weeks at the fastest, probably, provided you don't need anything too complex.

It needs to have strength enough to lift and carry heavy objects, repulsorlifts and codebreaking skills.

And basic intelligence to follow orders.

Can you do that?

[The rest is straightforward, codebreaking is all algorithms.]

Sounds fine, yeah, I can do it. I just need you to clarify what that does.

It's so it can hover and fly a short distance when necessary.

[He indicated what almost looks like tiny rockets attached to the sides of his boots. They could propel him up into the air, like he mentioned, for a short time and distance.]

Oh, I understand! Sure! I bet I can get a part like that in Nova City pretty easily.

[He nods in agreement.]

This is going to be so fun!

[He makes a disagreeable sound as if objecting to the talk of fun then pulls out a fistful of red bills and holds them out for Peter to take.]

This should be enough to get started.

[His eyes widen, whoa that is a lot of money and he nods, accepting it and placing it carefully in his pocket, he'll have to be sure to return any change to the man, so he needs to keep it apart.]

Yeah, give me two weeks? [The droid itself, or concept of one, should be easy enough, maybe two days of dedicated work, the programming and fine tuning was more of a challenge.]

I'll be as resourceful as I can! [He promises, but really, he still thinks it's going to be fun to build a robot.]

Good. You need any other information?

No, I don't think so!

[He smiles pleasantly.] Do you want some lunch?

Are you serious?

Um, yes? [He blinks at Bane.] Oh, I'm sorry, do you not eat?

I do but I am not here for casual socialising.

[He tends to be all business and no play.]

Oh. [Somehow he slumps, looking disappointed.] Well, okay! Nice to meet you!

[He gives a nod and rises.]
