[Video] Holiday cheer and Date Auction aftermath.

[The video is of Arro's desk, with a nice view of the arcade console he had won, now that it's properly installed. Arro comes around with a cup in his hand, setting it upon a coaster on his desk, and shuffling through several post cards in his hand.]

Well dear Genessia, I hope you've enjoyed your holidays~

I also wanted to speak, briefly, about the date auction.

[His expression darkens, but only briefly before his normal smile returns.]

Which is to say it seems to have been a fine success despite misgivings and everyone's poor attitude. Let me also say I've seen some lovebirds as a result of it. I'd say more, but I'd like to not start a spark over Miss Aino's efforts since it was a success. So, congratulations to the new couples.

As for myself; I have five dates as a result of it, if you did not receive a card I'll spoil you on it now.

[He starts thumbing through the cards, clearing his throat as he reads each one.]

Let me see.

...Ah. Miss Aino. I think you can do better, but I'm quite flattered.

Mister Rim, I was quite taken by your card, and your wonderful attitude at the auction.

Miss Valentine, I hope you enjoyed the rest of the Moscato.

Dr. Ziegler, it will be nice to get formally acquainted with a colleague.

Miss Mey-Rin, I did find you rather charming.

And...Ah. I was certain I would win the last too, since so few of you participated in the drawings, but perhaps I can speak with Miss Izayoi about one anyway~

[He pauses to take a sip of his coffee, and hums as he moves off screen, the sounds of objects being moved around apparent.]

Also Ted, thank you my dear friend for the coffee and this.

[He returns with a candy cane as big as he almost and grins as he gives it a small twirl.]

I might have something to make of this you'll find entertaining. I'll contact you when I'm done. Now for the serious business.

[Propping the candy cane on his desk, Arro folds his hands together, looking deathly serious.]

I do dating for fun, I participated in the auction purely for fun. If anyone is worried about anything permanent resulting from it without a choice, please do put that out of your mind. If any of my dates have issue with a date, please say so; we all did this for charity in the end. Otherwise I shall start making plans with each of you after the New Year and in alphabetical order for fairness. That said, Miss Aino please contact me when you have a moment so we can make plans~

Other notes...Hm. Well I have noticed we have quite a few scholars in our midst~ I do enjoy learning but I have noted some of the curriculum might be a bit out of everyone's normal means, I don't mind offering a hand where necessary. Just leave a message here or on my voicemail.

Finally...There's a gentleman here from my world. If he asks for me I do not wish to speak to him, ever. He thinks I am a trouble-maker and would seek to make sure I am following whatever laws we have here. As many of you know, I do; I do not need a handler.

[Isn't that what Ted is for, anyway?]

[This is why she ~~is madly crushing on~~ likes you, Arro. He gets it. A date is just a date, not a marriage proposal, not freaking sex trafficking. It's fun! And if someone complains about being dateless, maybe they should have done some bidding themselves. The sour attitudes make a difference when every single person is good-looking.]

Thanks, Arro. I'm glad you had a good time! The people at Fairy Tale were a huge help, so I can't take credit unless they get some of the praise too.

[He chuckles at the joke, given where he does live. However, he gives a small snap of his fingers as an idea occurs.]

Actually Miss Aino; there's a rather nice upscale restaurant here in Nova City. I might take you there, and then anywhere you'd like to go. If you need a dress I'll provide you funds for one.

--Wait, don't tell me you're loaded too!

[It's not like she was keeping track of which people donated what amount. The money just went into the register and was counted as a lump sum at the end of the night. She has no idea how much he gave in exchange for his tickets.]

[Well, he is a doctor. They make good money in this world and theirs, that's for sure, so maybe she shouldn't be so surprised.]

[And did he just invite her to his apartment? Her hand shoots to the back of her neck as she just starts laughing (sounding almost as if she's on the verge of hysteria because THIS IS BLOWING HER FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD MIND RIGHT NOW). At least he can rest assured that her ideal height of romantic fantasy is kissing, and nothing steamier than that.]

I mean...hard to say no to something that romantic. Are you sure it's okay?

Dear me, I don't think loaded is quite the word; I'm not even a business owner. I do live well enough for my tastes though~

[He waves off her sudden embarrassment, hoping she is keeping things innocent.]

Not a bother at all. Plus you can think of it as a gift; I'm sure you'll be attending more than a mere dinner with me that might warrant proper attire, Miss Aino.

I guess that's true. If I want to be taken seriously as a businesswoman, I have to dress the part. Otherwise all anyone will see is my age.

[She speaks with her hands on her hips, brow furrowed seriously. She might be flighty about some thing, but when Minako is determined and passionate about something, she can be surprisingly mature.]

Well gosh, what can I say? Thank you! Do you want to at least pick the color? I can take care of the rest.

[He's decided that maturity is one of her more attractive qualities, plus seeing spirited people are always uplifting enough to see that he's ready to encourage her. He makes a small flourish with his hand as he looks off to the side, thinking briefly.]

Black is always a safe choice, Miss Aino. Plus depending on the cut; you can have a lot of utility with it~

Something sophisticated, then. I think I can pull it off.

[She folds her arms confidently, smiling.]

Just let me know when and where to be!

I have no doubt you can~ I'm thinking the fifth.

[After all, how bad could some snow be? Certainly not a sudden blizzard that means he'll have to reschedule.]

The fifth should be fine.

[She doesn't know about the blizzard yet, so she's got no reason to think they'd need to reschedule. She's checking her schedule to make sure, and nods cheerfully once she sees that it's clear.]

The only day I'm expecting to be really busy is the 14th, so anything before that, you've got yourself a date!

[Yep, still funny! At least to him. Cue the giggling.]

Aheh, glad you approve. Try not to form a harem or anything; monogamy, you understand, is the ideal.

I don't know; sounds like this mystery gentleman of yours has you down pat. Perhaps the Sancho to temper your quixotic tendencies. You really don't want him?

I do not, Ted. If anything he is more of a troublemaker than I am; he'll try upsetting the status quo, quite unintentionally.

Ha, goodness, he grows more impossibly interesting by the minute. So he'll "try" rocking the boat, yet somehow do so unintentionally. You say that like it's a bad thing.

[Ted wouldn't particularly mind changing the world, but he hides the earnest wish under humor, per usual.]

Haha, as opposed to, what, the ideas that were just born yesterday? I'd have thought the ones that stood the test of time would be more solid than most. Goodness, if we're sane, it's a temptation to envy the insane. They must be very satisfied.

I try to treat everyone nicely, might I ask your connection? I did make a very conscious effort to not step on any toes for the auction, but dear me, people do like playing feelings close to the vest here.

Certainly a good mindset to have. I don't understand the sorts who can't let themselves relax.

[He gives a light shrug, a slight smile on his face.]

Nothin' major, she's just my roommate is all. I can't help but look out for her sometimes, not that she really needs it. Old habits from home I guess.

I do hope you two enjoy yourselves. She deserves a good night out.

[He nods. A problem he's all too familiar with as well.]

Looking out for others is a hard habit to break...But, I appreciate your time, I will make it the best I possibly can for her~

[He's a little surprised how his bid had gone.]

Let me know when you'd like to get together and I'm sure we can figure something out. [Similarly to Arro. Seth enjoys dating but isn't the sort of person to get into anything of a serious nature. He's been alive far to long for that sort of thing.]

I need to doublecheck with Miss Aino, and the rest of my dates if they will even appear, but I think I can move a patient consolation up a day; How does the 23rd sound for a day? We can make actual plans later when I'm more sure of a day.

[Seth can be flexible if need be. He isn't a picky sort of person.]

[His voice is light, a little sarcastic and a little teasing.]

[He was gathering she was a bit...dated, by the accent, but he's not going to make assumptions at this point. He recovers and makes a small bow.]

Excellent~ Do you say... [He begins flipping through his date-book.] Hmm. Well perhaps instead of me making a snap decisions, I should ask; any thing you need to attend to that I need to schedule around?

You think so? Maybe it is....

[She is a bit dated... She pondered for a moment.]

No, not really at the moment. I do need a week advance to notify my work.

*Here is a very much amused Faye, tilting her head as she takes a draw of her cigarette*

So I see you solved that dilemma of yours... Having all the cake, hmm?

[Cue a chuckle from Arro.]

I can't say I've solved it...but having all the cake is pretty fun on occasion~ Do you have any obligations that I should know about before I schedule our date?

*Well, it's the first date she's had in a long time, ans he was a nice enough guy, so why not have a bit of fun?*

*Sonico smiles and gives Arro a shy wave - it feels like it's been a while*

Wow. It does sound like you had lots of fun. I hope you enjoy all your dates!

[He manages a smile and nod, holding up a hand. This was a good opportunity to catch up as it had been a while.]

I do hope so, Sonico. ...Incidentally, are you alone right now?

*Sonico glances around her to double check, but other than all those pets that belong in their zoo of a house, she's alone*

[There's a pause as he comes over to fiddle with his device for a few seconds.]

I have concerns.

*When Arro switches to private, Sonico's smile fades. Then when he says he has concerns, Sonico knows she should turn to private too, which she does*

Arro... What's wrong...?

Humor me a moment as I think on my phrasing.

[After all, the accusations he was about to toss out certainly shouldn't be casual, as they were nothing but accusations at this point and he didn't want to pin blame where none actually hung. He clears his throat.]

I'm just going to ask a few questions; don't think too much on them and answer as honestly as you can. I want to evaluate something, Sonico.

First, has Mobius spoken about your modelling career?

Okay. I'll do my best...

*But with the way all this has been framed she can't help but seem a little nervous*

Yes. We talk about it. Not a lot. But he is very supportive and I know he doesn't think it's anything I should be made to feel ashamed of, which is nice.

[He looks immensely relieved with her answer, but he isn't done yet. Hopefully he really was just reading too much into things.]

Do you feel as though you aren't able to do certain things you did before? Do you feel as though you need permission now?

*Sonico watches him carefully, still not really catching his drift*

Permission? For what? To do what?

[Now he has to stop and question himself. After all, they are both pretty young, and at least half of the couple knew nothing about dating, relationships, or potential abuse. The big selling point for actual abuse would have been her modelling, unless Mobius was more shrewd about it.

Or Mobius could just be a love-struck idiot. Arro suddenly has suspicions of it being the latter. He shakes his head lightly after a moment.]

Ah, perhaps I just worry too much, Sonico. That said, if you ever feel unsafe around someone, anyone; please let me know and I will be there immediately.

*Sonico still doesn't look so sure about things. Clearly there had been something on Arro's mind*

Arro... Is there something I should be worried about or...someone I should be careful of? I promise I would let you know but -

*But what? She isn't sure, so just looks at him awkwardly, concerned too. Maybe he knew something she didn't about someone*

I am... Evaluating whether there is anyone you should be worried about. Until I'm certain, I would not want to cause unrest.

[Especially considering just what an unrest it would be.]

Instead, perhaps we could catch up some, and if I come upon a genuine answer; I shall inform you~

*Well, as strange and out of the blue this all seemed to her, at least he was making some sense. He was looking out for her, which was the main thing, and that's why she managed a more sure smile this time*
