Who: Jaune and Qrow
What: Qrow finds Jaune camping in Nova City
When: Now
Where: Nova City Park
Warnings: to be added
Qrow had been spending a lot of time in Nova City these days between knowing that Yang lives here and his natural curiosity to explore this high-tech city full of interesting creatures and weapons. Yet today was the first time he visited the Nova City Park.
He was still a little disgruntled as he wandered the park, annoyed about a confrontation with a barkeeper who'd kicked him out when he'd said he'd either be coming inside with his scythe or not at all. Turned out not at all really meant not at all around here. Oh well.
The park was rather boring to someone used to exploring a Grimm-infested wilderness, and yet one thing quickly caught his attention. A tent. It was a curiosity, and he liked curiosities.
He approached, scythe shouldered, poking around curiously while, well, not exactly trying not to disturb the owner, but also trying his best not to make too much of a nuisance of himself. That was very polite, right?

One said responsibility was a hyperactive, white golden retriever that he had finished just taking for a walk. Snow was very interested in the stranger poking in his tent, his home he shared with Jaune, having never met Qrow before. Qrow would find a pastel yellow sleeping bag, an empty bowl of cereal, two dog bowls and some scattered comics and dog toys lying around. But the most telling belongings were probably the familiar armor, sword and shield that rested in a corner. Jaune just stood still, squinting at the man going through his stuff. Was he serious right now? Snow was much more eager to act and approached Qrow, sniffing at his elbow.
...
... "...I don't have any booze, if that's what you're looking for." The hell you doing here?

He tilted his head to the side, taking in the sight of happy dog and considerably less happy man, and shrugged with an expression of innocence on his face.
"Just poking around," he said, as if that was a perfectly normal or acceptable thing to do. After all in his experience people were less likely to call you out for something if you acted like you had every right to do it.

It didn't help that Snow was wagging his tail. Jaune rolled his eyes. Of course his dog would like the smell of alcohol and regret.

Sighing regretfully, he ended his poking and joined Jaune. The dog came to sniff happily at him, tail wagging wildly.
"That's a very friendly little guy." Who adored Qrow already. There were paws on his leg now and he leaned down with a mock grumble to give the dog an awkward pet on the head. Okay, so, the entire set-up was kind of strange. "I don't think there are many people here who live in a tent."

"That's because you smell familiar." His voice had warmed up when mentioning Snow, and he looked at his friend fondly before his gaze snapped back to Qrow. "It's not like it's illegal or anything. We were camping for months, how is this any worse?"

There's something pointed to that comment, his own frustration bleeding into the challenge. It's not a world he fits into all that well either, constantly going from place to place, too restless to settle down into the steady life everyone else has embraced.

He understands his frustration. But he's long since given up in expressing it.
