First Night [Video and Possible Action]
[The video opens up not on any comments about the elections or anything to do with the weather, but on a newcomer. A pale looking person with red hair and eyes that sparkle like a gemstone. Tiny sparkles of silvery light drift around them.]
I appreciate the greeting and the information when I arrived. I'll find my own way from here on.
[A brief pause before adding.]
If you don't want to die, you should stay out of my way.

I'm going to do what I can to avoid that. If you want to help, you can tell me where I can go where there are no people.
These rooms aren't good enough. Somebody will get hurt.

In Everglade there's a lot of wilderness and the people mostly know better than to bother strangers.
Aside from the ones that want to eat strangers.
no subject
[A place in the wilderness, as far away from others as possible. That might just work well enough, even if it means plants and animals being endangered.
But there's no avoiding that. The warning at the end earns a shrug.]
I suppose that can't be helped. They'll have to learn that I won't make a good meal.
no subject
Mmm, there is a girl who goes around there. Straight brown hair, smiles too much, probably won't listen to you. Konoe Konoka. If she bothers you tell her Eva said to leave her alone or I'll make her my slave for ten years.
no subject
Right. I think she just suddenly appeared.
Ten years. I'll pass on your message to her if she becomes too much of a nuisance.
[Said without even missing a beat. What's ten years anyway? No big deal.]
no subject
If she really won't leave you alone just call me.
Actually, let's head this off, just tell her I said I'd help you if you need anyone to actually come around. She should know I'm better suited.
no subject
If she becomes too much trouble I'll send her to you. Try not be too harsh on her if I do, it will only be for her own good.
no subject
She's not pushing anything you can't handle?
no subject
[A moment of understanding comes over Cinnabar, accompanied by a short nod.]
I know somebody like that as well from back home. So far this one hasn't made any promises she won't be able to keep.
no subject
You can ask for me by Yukihime or Evangeline. Until then.
[Well, no. Another thought does strike her.]
Do you eat?
no subject
... Ah, a name. Introductions are needed here, aren't they.]
Cinnabar. You can call me Shinsha.
[The question gets a shake of the head in response.]
I don't. All I need is light.

Even if it doesn't, I'll just sleep until it comes out again.
video;
video;
As for the rest. Most of you are animals, aren't you? It's better if you understand quickly that your life will be in danger if you cross my path.
video;
Re: video;
Oh.
Sorry. There are animals where I come from but no humans. You seemed similar enough.
video;
video;
[Just casually dropping that "total human extinction" bomb there.]
video;
[She did frown slightly, however, if only for a moment.]
Though What is our world like if humans no longer exist.
video;
[Cinnabar pauses to look around.]
It's... very different than this place. There aren't nearly as many buildings for one thing. This place is very crowded.
video;
[She figured she might as well explain at least, while at the same time learning about another world.]
So your world had numbers around the size of a town I take it, or something smaller?
no subject
[So yeah. Slightly smaller.]
no subject
[Video]
Why are you making a threat like that?
[ Well, Konoka said that, but the way the girl spoke seemed more like a warning than someone causing malice. Nah, let's correct that. ]
Excuse me. [ She shook her head. ] Why are you warning people to stay out of your way?
no subject
At least this one seems to understand. The rest seemed to take it a different way.]
I'm deadly to your kind. It's safer for you to stay away from me.
no subject
no subject
Although, at least one of those guesses was pretty good. Maybe a little clarification.]
When's Tuesday?
no subject
Well, that last part is being facetious since someone who's poisonous Tuesday would remain so for all the other days...
[ Way to nearly confuse yourself with your own joke, Konoka. ]
no subject
Then it sounds like you just answered your own question. I'll be just as poisonous to you tomorrow as I am today.
no subject
[ Konoka looked thoughtful for a moment. ]
Hmmm. I'll definitely get back to you once I know of a way for you to interact with people without poisoning them. Any details on how you're poisonous?
[ This is clearly going to take research. ]
Until then, please stick to the comms. Talk to people! I'll be here!
no subject
... I create this poison.
[A hand reaches out, snagging one of the silvery droplets drifting through the air. Metallic liquid hanging in the air before the communicator.]
I can control it but not stop it. Any living thing it touches is killed.
no subject
You can control it, but you can't stop it from forming.
[ Konoka might be seen taking notes. ]
Alright. We'll keep in touch!
[ She remained oblivious as to how she was being judged. At the very least, she knew she was going to be taking this project seriously. ]
Just want to say despite Cinnabar's reluctance, I am totally down for this plot.
I won't refuse, but I will tell you that I've spent a very long time trying to find a way to stop it and failed.
I'll also say that if you do end up being a nuisance "Eva" has promised to make you a slave for ten years.
[Ya know. Just throwing that out there.]
Great! I'll figure out what Konoka's capable of trying!
...Eva-chan?
[ Wait, this woman knows Eva? Wait then that means...?! ]
Eva-chan doesn't scare me!
[ Konoka's smiling when she shuts off the connection, but as long as Cinnabar isn't terrible at reading faces, there was a clear note of annoyance in her voice. ]
[video]
[Soma looks curious - he's met beings capable of ripping souls out of people and lived through it, surely this can't be much worse than that, right? The tone of voice was wrong for a threat, so he's not really worried on that front.]
[video]
no subject
...Oh, ah, sorry. Perhaps names would be best given before details like that. Mine is Soma.
no subject
[Introductions are strange. It's been a very long time since they've ever been necessary.]
And I'm not sure but I'd prefer not to experiment.
no subject
Cinnabar... as in the naturally occurring form of mercury?
no subject
So, they move on to the next with a shrug.]
I guess? It's the name I was given when I was born.
no subject
I see. It's a nice name; better than having your family name be an ancient execution device, at least. If you'd like, please stop by Cloak and Dagger in Everglade; I can give you a few universal antidote potions that should at least help if you ever poison someone accidentally. And sometime later, I may be able to help stop that from happening to start with - I know someone who's really good with alchemy and artifice.
[No, Soma, don't even think about letting Vlad get his hands on this poor girl, he'll exploit her condition without a second thought and you know it.]
no subject
[Why would somebody choose something like that for a name? Human naming is as strange as everything else about them. That offer though... an antidote.]
... You're saying it could be possible to cure something I've poisoned?
[That's never even been a possibility before. To call it a glimmer of hope is something of an understatement.
And as for Vlad. Soma might find Cinnabar a little more difficult to manipulate than he might expect.]
no subject
[Human naming is weird, but his is tame compared to some examples from recent years...]
