Good evening. As you might have heard, there is a severe blizzard slated to hit us over the course of the next three days. As such, beginning tonight at midnight a state of emergency will be in place for all of Nova City. As conditions are expected to get treacherous, essential and emergency personnel should be the only ones on the roads. All above ground public transit will be halted throughout the duration of the storm beginning at 2am on the morning of the 2nd. The Guardian’s Office, police department, hospitals, and Nova City’s wayspoint all have backup generators and will have personnel on standby. It is highly advised that anyone residing in the Skyhouse Network find another place to stay in case the power for the teleporters goes out.

If you should find yourself caught in the storm, both After Life and the City Hall buildings will have their doors open to all and have been stocked with food and drink. Please be mindful that even during the state of emergency private property is private property.

The city will be plowing and sanding the roads throughout and we will do our best to make the city as habitable as possible, though it is recommended to stay inside if at all possible.

Stay safe out there, and should you require assistance, please contact the proper authorities and they will respond as soon as they are able.

I'm sure you'll be at the forefront of helping the sick and homeless who have nowhere else to go first hand, Mayor Schnee. It's the least we can expect of such a good mayor, volunteering to help out instead of staying safe and sound at home, right?

[ She sounds positively genuine. Thank god Jacques probably has no idea who she is besides a former Guardian candidate and can think she's actually a fan and not just trying to trap him into having to get peasant on that nice suit. ]

No. No no no no no this was not how this was supposed to go! It's the Guardian's job to risk their neck, not the mayor's!

Though, actually, this would be pretty good press. He can go out a couple of times before it gets too bad, get a photo op or two of him helping the people on the streets, and be home for the worst of it. Not a bad idea at all, really.]

Of course, I'll be doing everything within my power to help out my good citizens!

[He makes a note to give to his secretary later about arranging for the press to come out while he's being such a good Samaritan.]

I'll make sure to refer as many homeless as I can to the mayor's office in the meantime, since you're being so accommodating!

[ She has nothing against you Jacques. You're just a rich asshole so it's fun to tease. ]

The mayor's office will actually be closed - we don't have a generator there, nor the necessary supplies to last for so long should we lose power. Only in essential buildings. But I do believe that Mr. Reinhart has offered his club as a place to take refuge from the storm, so I'd advise you send them over there instead.

[Give him all the scum off the street to deal with. Jacques will be staying as far away from there as humanly possible.]

Oh, so you're going to be volunteering at After Life! Since you said you'd be helping and all.

[ Did he just dig himself into a hole dealing with Gale too?? ]

The weather has become unpleasantly cold but the people will be protected.

[Ugh, it's that robotic deputy. What he wouldn't give to be able to issue a memo to the Guardian's Office and tell them to can any non-organics, but with one in command that doesn't seem like it's going to fly.

...Unless he could get in touch with that weird ass alien but he doesn't really want him in command either. Besides, whenever they try to contact each other something always comes up. It's uncanny, really.

I am protected from such inconveniences.

[He's still partially biological but everything vulnerable has been shielded to withstand space itself, so the weather poses him very little problems. He does, however, favour the warmth having originally come from a more tropical sort of climate.]

[Jacques couldn't care less if he favored a planet of bananas.]

Well that's certainly convenient! And I believe during the debates you mentioned that you don't need to sleep, right? [Well well well. Looks like these things did have some upsides. Now if only he could make them mindless servants...] This might be the perfect opportunity to pick up some overtime.

[Jacques debates even answering the video at all after their previous encounter, but it might make things worse if he doesn't, so he takes several deep breaths before he acknowledges him, a fake smile plastered on his face with a little less gusto than usual.]
