OPEN LOG/INITIAL VIDEO
Who: Robin and anyone also stranded with her!
What: Robin chose to stay at the library and has many supplies and rations to share
Where: Genessia Library
When: January 2nd-January 5th
[To anyone seeking shelter from the intense blizzard, the library is open for business! Robin had decided to stay there when she knew the big storm would be rolling in, just in case others needed to find somewhere to be and not to be entirely alone. This was her best option, really, and she figured others would think the same. In preparation for the main event, she had gathered many different supplies.
So, to those wanting to stay with others, the library is open and Robin has made herself comfortable in one of its many spaces. She has things such as flashlights, blankets, gloves, hell she was even able to find herself a portable fire pit just in case they really needed some extra heat. Who knows if the power was going to go out, after all! So now she was meant to send out a broadcast to everyone.]
Video;
Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well and are braving this storm. To anyone that is afraid of being alone, or those that need to seek immediate shelter, come to the Genessia Library. I have been able to gather enough supplies and rations to last for days. Thank you all, and please be safe.
[The video will end there, and Robin will be too busy to respond to any videos. No, if one wishes to get in touch with her it would be best to come straight to the library.]
(ooc: Basically this is just a free for all meet-up at the library! Feel free to leave top levels, or tag around. Only action will be allowed here, no video broadcasts will be responded to!)

he'd brought with him a backpack with a spare change of clothes, some hygiene stuff and canned food that was ready to eat out of the tins. he knew better when travelling through rough weather like this to be prepared, if his time in the Shinra infantry taught him anything...
those who found refuge in the library would find Cloud lounged on one of the couches already changed into his spare clothes, for once taking a break from being studious at a table and leisurely reading books that didn't pertain to Genessia.]
no subject
as she walked through a certain part of the library, she saw...]
Cloud? [my oh my, she just kept on running into him. she walked over to him, looking him over.]
I did not think I would see you here. Did you come here purposefully or were you accidentally snowed in?
no subject
that didn't mean that Cloud wasn't keeping his eyes peeled, his device on his person as he'd occasionally flip through the network for any potential signs of danger nearby. it's for that very same reason that tucked away in a corner of the library, was Cloud's main blade from the Fusion Sword, just in case things went south. right now though, he looked rather peaceful, and just before he was about to turn the page of the story he'd taken to,
"Cloud?"]
...?
[he closes his book by accident, seemingly absorbed in it but he's not worried about losing his page. he'd find it again. his gaze turns up to the voice as he shifts to sit more upright.] Oh, Robin.
[he'd meant to catch up with her in a bit when she wasn't so busy.]
Actually both. I returned some books when things were starting to get nasty outside. [he places his current book in his lap. there's a backside half open beside the couch with some of his more more familiar fighting attire sticking out of it, having changed earlier in the day]
You've been busy.
no subject
ah but, that could probably wait until another day. she looked down at the current book he was holding before returning her gaze back up to his face.]
I have been. [it was said more as a relief than anything. she had been glad that people had gathered in the library and she had been more than happy to help them get settled. there was a moment of silence between them before robin realized something. she reached into her coat pocket, pulling out a granola bar and holding it out for him.]
Care for a snack? I have plenty more. [just eat something pls.]
no subject
he appreciated everyone that did that. for someone they didn't even know... it was better seeing it carried out in person. she was doing a good job. though she catches him by surprise when she holds out a granola bar for him.
it was true that he hadn't eaten anything since he got here earlier in the day... and he had his own supply of food. but seeing it held out for him, he almost would have felt bad for saying no. that and he could always share what he had if they ran out for some reason. with a little sigh and smile, Cloud reaches out for and takes it.]
Thanks. [he leans on the couch before opening the wrapper on the bar.] You taken a break yet?
no subject
Not yet. I'm rather used to looking after people, lots of people actually, so I think I am still fine. I may need to rest my eyes for a bit, however, if this keeps up.
no subject
Want some help? I'm not sure how many "lots of people" is to you, but I can help.
[he was used to it too. ...or rather, he used to be used to it when he and the others were travelling around the world chasing Sephiroth.]
no subject
[she did step a little closer to him.] Mind if I... have a seat, though? I wish to take a little break.
[it is pretty late for her after all.]
no subject
Knock yourself out.
no subject
I was a fool, I should have brought games to play, or something. [just making sure everyone was okay was fine and all- and the books? also fine. but it might have been better to play at least cards with the other people here.]
no subject
What, you're telling me even Robin gets bored of books? [there's a slight lift to Cloud's tone, almost teasing]
no subject
I never tire of books! [but she was smiling, really.] It's simply not a good activity for others to join in on. I want to have everyone laughing and having fun, you know?
[seriously cloud.] Maybe I can teach you. You know, to have fun. [another jab his way!!]
no subject
Wha? [... he's only half offended, but he blinks surprised.] Hey. I know how.
no subject
[robin smiles at him, leaning back in her seat.] What do you do for fun, then?
no subject
[Cloud's brings his hand up to his chin as he tilts his head back, collecting a little list in his head.]
Snowboarding, riding my bike, Chocobo racing...
[and apparently reading. which, if he was being honest, he picked up from this world the most from his initial attempts to get out of here.]
no subject
[she was listening, really, just the moment of her sitting on the couch here was.... relaxing.]
I'll admit, I'm unfamiliar with all of those. [and she yawns! covering her mouth and glancing away from him. wow she is more tired than she thought.]
...What is a chocobo?
no subject
while Cloud is cozy, he doesn't seem exhausted yet as he notices her yawn. he had a feeling... Robin really did give it 110%, and everyone here seemed to be rather happy considering being snowed in. he supposed this was a good thing about being here. even if he may not have taken the information back with him...learning about the kind of lives and worlds other people lived was admittedly more interesting than he would have thought it'd be.]
Chocobos? Well, they're...
[how did he describe them that'd make sense to Robin? maybe going the literal approach was the best.]
They're really big yellow birds that you can ride. They're pretty quick on land. Not much for flying though...kinda like an Epiolnis but a lot friendlier. [a beat, and he sighed before shaking his head softly] You probably don't know what that is either.
no subject
Amazing... they sound like rather interesting creatures!
[robin nodded to herself.] I wish you could see some pegasus as well, they really are beautiful. We even have knights that are dedicated to them!
[that was her way of comparing the chocobos of his world to the pegasus of hers.]
no subject
Pegasus Knights?
[he thinks about such a term, not realizing that was actually what they'd called them. Chocobo Knights didn't sound quite as...cool. they didn't have much standing as military rides these days.]
no subject
Exactly, yes, Pegasus Knights. They are riders and they typically are spear users. They are also- [she yawns now, covering up her mouth with her hand.] all women... since the pegasus tend to hate men.
[she closed her eyes as she spoke... wow.]

There goes giving one a go...
[the blond's gaze settles out again, before he starts contemplating,] Tame or breed your own chocobo and they'll like just about anyone... Long as you have some gysahl greens.
[while his ramble doesn't last very long, he starts going into detail about how unique the birds could be, how they came in a variety of colors and how even those colors defined their physical traits and abilities. like some that made crossing rivers a breeze, and even fabled ones who had the means of crossing entire oceans and being endowed with beautiful golden feathers.]

[hm?]
Robin?

[ Takumi is surprised, but pleased, that someone had the same idea that he did. He showed up much earlier to work than usual with an armful of supplies, returned later with more supplies, as much as he could manage in five total trips.
He doesn't have a lot of cash to spare, considering he's paying for Tatlyn to stay in the inn through the blizzard. But he's gotten blankets, and firewood, and bulk quantities of dried fruit and nuts and jerky - the last trips were the three cases of bottled water.
Once he's got the last of it in - he's making sure his supplies and Robin's are all gathered together, and organized rather than just lumped in a pile, and.
He's ready to start handing things out to people, if they need it. ]
B
[ Takumi's making his rounds, checking on people, trying not to be too nosey. Lots of people still didn't know him very well, after all. Certainly, even the people who visited the library at night may not remember seeing him. He was pretty forgettable.
Still, he wants to make sure everyone's warm and comfortable, as the blizzard rages on outside. ]
C
[ Towards three in the morning, when he normally would go to bed after his shift, Takumi's curled up with a book and staying awake. He's not sure if there are going to be any late stragglers. His phone, beside him, is set to watch the community feed for cries of help.
Looks like he's still very willing to talk to people, he glances over at people sleeping in the chairs scattered around the common reading area of the library. ]
C
she approached him, a hand in her pocket.]
Hello there. [she brought out a granola bar, offering it to him.] Neither of us know when to rest, it seems.
C
Hi. Thanks for this.
[ Indicates the snack. ]
I usually work pretty nights anyway, so, it's not too late for me, yet.
[ Tilts his head. ]
I'll be honest - I was really happy to see someone else here, with all of these supplies. And the firepit, too!
no subject
[nothing is worse than being totally exhausted all the time.]
Mm! I had figured the firepit would come in handy. You truly never know when the power will cut out, and then we'll need a source of heat. No matches needed, by the way, I can just cast a spell and we will be all set.
no subject
If you're supposed to be in bed earlier, I suppose it'd be bad form to mention the library's usually open pretty late, and might be good entertainment if you'll be awake anyhow?
[ He tilts his head ]
A spell, you say? I've read about these sorts of magic powers - [ Gestured at the library, tons of information ] - what sorts do you have?
no subject
[srsly and usually someone needs to tell her to go to bed.]
Interested, are we? Well... [robin smiled at him.] I use tomes. Think of it as like an incantation from the book I'm holding. I can cast a spell depending on which tome I have in my possession.
no subject
[ Smiles sheepishly ]
A little! All of these worlds meeting here are so different - and curiosity is really a huge failing of mine.
Spells based on your books ...
Are those tomes something you can easily get here? Or, have you needed to make do with what you've brought with you, from your home?
no subject
[she does what she wants.]
I can get them from my home, Ylisse. I had opened up an archway here when I was in Genessia before... I just need to check if it is still up.
no subject
[ Winks.
Leans forward a bit from his seat: ]
That sounds ... absolutely fascinating. Would anyone be able to go through? I've always wanted to see some of these worlds I've read about. I know it wouldn't quite be real, but ...
no subject
[it had been a great business!]
[But she wasn't prepared to be this bored. So, when she hears that the library is an open meeting spot, she has a decision to make, and it's a fairly easy one at that.]
A change of scenery from the Commons would be nice. I can bring my own supplies. How's the non-fiction section?
