[Namur didn't bother replying via video or anything like that, he just booked it out to the Bay as quickly as possible, and scoops his brother up into a ginormous, enveloping bearhug. It only occurs to him later that unless this is one of his Thatches, it might come off as strange...

Oh, but who gives a shit? Every Thatch is his Thatch. If they gotta start over again, a brotherly hug ain't a bad way to go.

Namur puts him down again and takes a step back, eyeing him critically.]

Seriously though, yer turnin' int' a snowman. Even I'm wearin' shit t' keep me warm!

[It's true! He has a scarf, and a hat, a leather jacket. And boots, which probably says the most about things right there. With a huff, Namur holds out his arm again, squatting a little to facilitate Thatch climbing on.]

C'mon, then. There's a couple places 'round here where they ain't gonna get their fins in too big a fix if we track in some snow.

Namur! [happy face. Though he grunts at the bearhug.]

Didn't exactly read the weather, brother. Slight darkness with chance of blizzard. [he envies the look and climbs on readily to avoid getting snow in his shoes, careful to avoid the dorsal.]

I take it we're not exactly in Galbadia anymore.

[Well, that answers at least one question. Namur feels a spike of pain somewhere behind his temples, and wonders if somewhere out there in the vast wide cosmos, there's another Thatch still bound to Davy Jones. But that pain isn't going to go away unless he carefully orders his mind, keeping them separated. This Thatch is the one that spent years with him in the mountains, who poked Namur out of bed when he didn't care to move, who nudged him to become things he never even considered as possibilities. With a grin, Namur reaches behind and grabs the side of Thatch's face, then knocks his head sideways against it.]

Yeah, ain't 'zactly.

[Then it occurs to him!]

Oh! Hey them Guardian Forces still work for y' here? This's my second stop since Balamb an' they didn't quite make it through with me this time. Kinda miss them li'l assholes. Anyway see if y' can summon Ifrit. He'll warm this place riiiiiight up, sheheheh!

[returns the bump. He can't even be sure how long they've been apart. It could have been hours or days or more... The blackness had been all encompassing.

[Namur clicks his tongue, grabs Thatch's arms and pulls him up a bit more snugly as he trudges through the snow.]

Far as I know, the whole damn place is called Genessia, but that's also the name a the city here. Found yer cash an' yer necklace, aye? Need 'em both, though the necklace's a bit more important cuz otherwise yer stuck here. Mean yer stuck here anyway, but there's five cities total rather'n jus' the one. Sheheh! Hell of a fishbowl, eh?

[Sigh.] Whatever. Get stuck here like one a the damn locals, don't bitch at me 'bout it.

[And he picks up the pace a little, plunging through snowbanks that may or may not have at some point been plowed out at one point and covered over again. Luckily the Bay is in the center of town, so he only has to go a block or two before finding an open bar, even in this weather.]

I'll bitch and you'll grumble and help me anyway. Ahhh... [he lets out a sigh of relief as he slides of Namur's shoulders to angle himself into the bar, holding his hands out to the warmth]

[Namur falls behind a little bit. It suddenly hits him that this is Thatch and he's here and Lord of the Sea, he'd missed the bastard more than he could say. Namur thought he might never see him again, after what happened with Davy Jones- had mourned him a second time, even. And here he is again, the shit. Namur's caught somewhere between wanting to punch him and kiss him. So instead he shakes his head and moves to get in front, shoulder checking his brother as he goes past and orders two big bottles of rum.]

'Bout time y' showed up. Was startin' t' think y' wasn't gonna make it. Take this, we'll sit a spell in the corner.

[He hands Thatch the bottles, then shrugs off his leather jacket and wraps it around him.]

Gotta getcha caught up, aye?

Ohhh you know me well, brother. [but of course he does. He wedges himself in the corner booth, angling so that he's stretched across it and stretches out his legs, winking at the pretty bar maid]

So tell me everything. How long's it been since we've clapped eyes?

[Namur pulls up a chair and sits in it backwards. The corner offers some privacy, but also means he won't be clotheslining people trying to get past with his dorsal fin. His head's already starting to beat behind his eyes, though.]

How long's it been? Hell if I know. Depends which world yer comin' outta. Balamb's been several; Cerealia only a few. An' hell if I know how long 's been since we sailed 'round Isla Empieza but that technically ain't happened t' me yet but I lived it all tryna get caught up in the Dream Docks more'n a year back.

[He takes a deep breath, scrubs at his face with his hand (Thatch may notice a new Spades tattoo there), let's the breath out slow, then takes a drink.]

So. Here's called Genessia. Bigass city in a fishbowl. But 's kinda nice cuz we got four other fishbowls we can hop int' if we wanna, cuz we got the bling t' do it.

[He pulls his necklace out from under his shirt; a bright green opal with shimmering iridescent flecks, cut in the shape of a shark's tooth. He's added a few other charms to the tether, a simple silver anchor for Jolly Eddy's, and another the same opal green as the shark tooth.]

Other fishbowls is Nova City- 's kinda the most like Cerealia. Lotta space age shit but y' can't go t' outer space or nothin'. Then there's Everglade that's kinda like watchin' a horror movie only 's real life. Attleton's jus' a buncha folk livin' in a city goin' t' work, goin' t' school, knockin' over c-stores, an' shit like that. An' Fayren's got the magic an' the ocean an' the pirates an' the woods an' shit. Then inside all a them fishbowls sometimes folk'll open up 'nother fishbowl, an' I guess 's like. They can go places from their own home but it ain't really that place, an' the people in 'em 're kinda like... fake. Like real cuz y' can touch 'em an' shit but fake cuz it ain't really them. Cute li'l fishbowl over our heads is called the barrier. 'S made outta folks in Everglade's fear a each other. That shit goes down, all kinds a crazy ass nasties swarm in an' shit gets deep real quick.

[ Oh good he's safe. She'd been a little worried when he cut off like that, but she hadn't been able to find him on any of her other trips to the Bay. If it had gone on for too long she might've started a search party in case he got lost in the snow, but he got back soon enough. ]

Just Weiss is fine. I made one. Nova City is technologically advanced, they have plenty of technology to do that with- though that particular design is actually from a subarchway to my world, since it uses Dust so I'm able to remotely power it without anything that would risk shock in the Bay.

[ Regular electricity+water = bad. Dust with protection is a better energy source in that case. No incidences in that sense, anyway. ]

What in the world is Dust? Can't imagine it's what I'm thinking.

It's a type of elemental energy propellant from my world.

There are different types of course, but you can use it as a fuel, yes.

Just.. ] If you don't know how to use it it's extremely volatile. A poorly timed sneeze can set off an explosion. [ It's properly contained and guarded in the hologram, but pure Dust... ]

Seems too volatile to be used in that sort of thing. [the hologram he means] But you don't seem too worried about it.

If it's properly contained and handled it's not a problem. It's actually set up to knock out anyone who tries to mess with the mechanism as a security feature. My family produces and sells it, so I'm fairly skilled with it.

I'd like to learn it if I could. Never know when it could come in handy.

Perhaps once you're a little more settled in I'll introduce you to some basic techniques sometime.
