[Video] /backdated to before the blizzard
There is a little bloodsucker showing up on the network, sat at a small table with tea in front of her within her room in Castlevania.
"For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the message was lost.
For want of a message the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail."
And said in that French accent of hers, as always.
"It's curious how something so small and inconsequential can lead to the drastic change in the course of fate. Not of just one person, but of a country, or even an entire world. Like the loss of a nail... Or some misplaced leeches... leading to the fall of a kingdom." She's a little sad for a second, since she's a fan of Napoleon.
The little vampire sips at her tea, letting out a pleased sigh, before continuing. "I suppose the lesson here is that even a tiny thing can change everything."
A fanged grin - a though just came to her. "Things would get very interesting, if one could go back and change these small events, though. Who knows what else would change besides the event you were trying to prevent?"

The Doctor smiles sort of whimsically to himself.
"...and you're not wrong, well, partly not wrong, time does have a way of sorting itself out, think of it like a tent held up by a few posts--fixed points in time--but otherwise hanging freely, you tug on it here and there you can make ripples, but the overall shape remains. At least, if you don't tug too hard."
He clasps his hands together.
"'course the bigger problem's the paradox you'd create--if you traveled for a reason and prevent the very reason you traveled, why did you travel in the first place? Those sort of ripples could threaten the causal structure of the Universe, or, well, everything causally tied to whatever you changed."

"Fixed points? That almost sounds like predetermined fate. I can... see the threads of fate, sometimes they lead to one place."

The Doctor grins and points into the camera like look at you being clever with the black holes.
"No, not at all, black holes are tremendous concentrations of mass-energy in a very small spot, bends space enough that light can't escape, or, to put it another way, all lightspeed-or-slower future-lines point to somewhere inside the edge, the event horizon."
He pauses a tick, getting back on track.
"But, no, just making a black hole's pretty much the best case scenario, blowing up a TARDIS. As for fixed points... ...yeah, a bit, lynchpins of history, if y'like. Subverting your personal timeline--changing your own history--can generate a paradox, like a... wound in causality, but a fixed point, that's a feature in history with such wide repercussions, so causally tangled, that changing it can unravel everything, collapse the timeline completely."
Another brief pause and another sort of whimsical smile.
"...or that's a theory, anyway, don't think even the Time Lords were quite sure why there're fixed points. Maybe time needs them to give causality shape, points of reference."

She keeps up, but only because she's used to trying to talk to Flandre when she's excited about something. "Well. I suppose one couldn't go back and get a certain British private to not show a particular wounded German soldier mercy, then.
While we're on the subject... what is a Time Lord?"
[ Oh, I generally interpret Remi's everyday fate manipulation as an ability to see timelines. She calls them 'threads of fate' because she like to be dramatic. ]

The Doctor smiles to himself a little, keeping all his mixed feelings on the subject carefully and skillfully tucked away.
"...and no, can't exactly say nobody's thought of that before, and I promise you, never goes to plan, that sort of thing."

"What would you prevent?" It's a harmless question, in theory. He could muse on his, but he picked the first choice that popped into his head; the outcome would be ultimately boring...or so he suspects.

"Then I shall say you are the more selfless of us; while I thought of a great many people to help, my first thought was for me." Which may just be habit for him at this point.

She peeks in and speaks softly.]
...Remi?
[Action]
Flandre...? Come in.
[Action]
even if not with the right versionand relaxing.]I...I just wanted to see you Remi. I mean..if it's a bad time..I can go.
[She kicks at the air a little bit.]
[Action]
[ And she motions for her to join her. ]
[Action]
What are you doing here Remi? I thought you were in another place?
Re: [Action]
[ And putting her in Flandre's path, more or less. ]

[She really couldn't understand how she could always get back to her favorite spots without any trouble although being so lost.]
It's so much bigger then the Large house and a lot more confusing then the Mansion.
