Hey! I know it's dark and miserable, but if you're stranded, don't worry! I'm here to help!

[ Konoka... looks unprepared for a blizzard. At least clothing wise, she's only sporting her (former) school uniform, which is pretty much a vest, long sleeve shirt, dress, and lacy tie, adjusted for her size. She is in fact, outside... but the snow seems to fall just short of touching her, and there's no sign of her suffering any negative effects of the cold. She looks positively pumped, actually. ]

Besides, whenever the wind isn't screwing up your vision the snow's pretty nice to look at... 

[ As if realizing something, she snaps back off of her tangent. ]

Anyway, I'm hanging around the Fayren Guardian office so I'll be the most use there. Sorry, but until the blizzard emergency's over my store's closed!

psst if you want to know why I'm only wearing a school uniform in freezing temperatures, blame Eva-chan.

[Action]

[ While Konoka is largely around Fayren, she will patrol around Genessia and Everglade. She will spend her nights crashing in one of the Fayren shelters, helping out the weakened (and raiding hot chocolate during breaks). ]

[ Konoka stuck out her tongue, pretending to be dumb(er). Which was true, it was that strange other self that had demanded to be stronger, not Konoka herself. But she'd be lying if she said that it didn't leave an imprint on her. ]

Besides, it's been a while since I got to participate in one of your tests. This will let me see how far I've come!

This is what you'd call a foundational exercise. It's not really about how far you've come, it's about how far you can go.

Though if it's a challenge you're looking for, you can ditch the uniform too.

Being banned only matters if they can catch you. If you were healing people while evading the authorities that'd be much better training.

[ Konoka squeals and dodges by a hair. ]

[Her next arrow multiplies itself... well, a lot. Too many to count.]

[ Konoka's eyes nearly popped out of her sockets. Did Eva just long distance attack her with bullet hell?

As much as she really wanted Setsuna's help right then, she didn't think waiting on it would serve. She slung her hand in a wide arc, drawing several of her charms in a protective wall. Maybe if she held out-- ]

[[Let Setsuna have a moment first.]]

[Whoops, she totally forgot to private these.

She always lets her guard down when she plays around with the kids too much. It's the worst.]

[Several bursts of light streak through the sky towards the arrows being fired at Konoka. Not enough bursts to stop every arrow arrow for arrow, but enough that Setsuna could reduce the amount of arrows raining down on Konoka's charms.]

Eva! While I agree that training can be done, I do not agree to launching magic at Oujou-sama in that density! She's not Negi or Asuna (who would either counter with the same number of arrows, or cancel it completely. Both stupidly OP ways of handling it.)

[ Konoka's happy that Setsuna came to her rescue, because that means the stripping arrows don't mess up her shirt... that, and Secchan is clearly the coolest person in the universe when she's like this. ]

Thank goodness! I think Eva-chan's been hiding new tricks from us. She cast this magic all the way from our apartment!

Oh come on. That was nothing to get excited about.

[ Evangeline's voice sounded in triplicate... once through Konoka's device, once in response to Setsuna, and once from Konoka's shadow as she manifested from her traditional gate spell. ]

I daresay her dignity might have survived without your help, Setsuna. Though judging from the look on her face your effort was well spent, hmhm. That's a dashing look indeed.

[To launch magic from that distance, even with the basic of basic spells...maybe only Konoka and Negi could hope to achieve that distance.

The sudden appearance of Evangeline did cause Setsuna's hand to briefly stray to the hilt of her sword.]

[Though the flush to her face says otherwise.]

A-anyway, you shouldn't be shooting at Oujou-sama like that. The outfit is a precious memory to her!

[ Setsuna better be prepared for Konoka using a glomp attack, because that's exactly what she does. Konoka is happy to shower her affection regardless of who's looking, but she's still got an eye on Eva just in case she does anything. ]

So how about it? Let's get to healing people, okay?

[ By cunning or luck that glomp was well-timed to defuse things. Evangeline, by all evidence in a restless mood, had been watching Setsuna's hand near her sword out of the corner of her eye with some anticipation, but even she had trouble justifying attacking a student while they were helpless in the arms of a loved one.

At least with the relaxed mood that prevailed these days. ]

All the mementos of the past fall to dust in time, Setsuna. Keeping them in place of memories. You should be concerning yourself with the memories to come.

[ She looks just a touch amused with that last line. Definitely still teasing Setsuna. ]

Well, don't think I've forgotten what you said, Konoka, but I'll leave you to enterprise. What you spent on that barrier should be a suitable handicap anyway.

[Setsuna wasn't going to seriously pull her blade on Evangeline. At least, not unless the vampire made a move first. She doubted the girl would do anything to them now anyway. Unless they did something to piss her off.

The whole matter of whether she would or not is taken out of her hand as she's suddenly glomped, the swordswoman hitting the snow with a flumph of snow scattering about.]

H-hey, Oujou-sama!?

[She can't look intimdating to keep Evangeline from trying to ruin their clothes again if she's glomped and on the floor!]

Sure, we can get moving. If you need more help, I'm sure I can help keep you warm. [probably with her own magical aura or the like.]

[ She keeps forgetting that she can still make Setsuna crash if she's not being cautious. Standing up, she made a face when Evangeline pointed out that she just blew a lot of magical power just protecting herself. This might be a bigger challenge than she thought.

A bit later on, when it's just the two of them, Konoka took Setsuna aside. ]

Secchan, I want to talk about something.

[Setsuna stands up once she's freed, brushing the snow off of her chest in a way that suggests she's pretty used to having to do this.]


[In the private moment where Konoka grabbed Setsuna, the swordswoman tilts her head curiously.]

Secchan, I've been offered a deputy position with the Guardian of Fayren. She wants to make me chief healer.

That's great Ojou-sama! What a remarkable opportunity for you!

...What are you doing to do with the shop though?

Ah, that's the thing.

I don't want to give it up, but being deputy of Fayren and running this store in Everglade would be too much of a hassle. So I wanted to move it to Fayren.

As I'm uncertain of the burden I'll have, I need to ask you if you were willing to mind more of the store in my absence.

You've been given a great opportunity for yourself, It'd be selfish of me to want to keep you away from that by being unwilling to take up more work.

Oh thank you, Secchan! [ Konoka happily took Setsuna's hands in her own, almost bouncing up and down in her excitement. ] I'll be sure to help you when I can, okay?

[Setsuna blushed as Konoka took her hands into her own, though she still gave her girlfriend a smile.] That's quite alright. You should focus on being a Deputy, Oujou-sama. Let me know if you need anything.

Yeah, this blizzard is something else! I don't remember seeing this much snow since the one time Eva-chan sent Asuna to an ice cap for week-long survival training!

I don't think I've ever seen this much snow in general.

[She might not have even paid that much attention to what was going on around her until this point, except when she, of course, occasionally had to move places but even then the possibility she wasn't playing a game had been low.]

It's fun. I mean... the blizzard isn't fun, but the snow is.

[ Konoka seems unbothered by it, even seemingly walking through deeper parts without feeling the snow against her. ]

I have a lot of power in this body of mine, so I have to see how well I can help others in harsh conditions. My friends did this sort of thing at home too!
