[Action] Stupid snow
Who: Tatlyn, Aeslyn, OTA for some reason
Where: Fayren
When: January 15th
[First a blizzard and then a blizzard? Elin were not meant to be kept locked up inside buildings. They were meant to run free! After making her "escape" from Fairy Haven, Tatlyn went on the most bizarre tantrum, hoping over mounds of snow as she makes a wolf-shaped indentation on the other side, then repeat.
Anyone bold enough to even be outside in Fayren, or even looking out the windows, will see this wolf girl jumping out of deep snow like some kind of fish. Finally, she had just about enough of this snow. She grabbed her staff from my backpack and stabbed it into the ground, unleashing a small burst of energy to create a geyser of snow.
Only for it all to fall back down and bury her. After a few moments, she pokes her head out from the snow. Still, she tries to fight the snow, heading towards the local forge now that she was getting tired.]
What -huff- is with -huff- this SNOW! -Huff- This is -huff- massive horsesh--
[Spotting something in the distance, she immediately ducks into the snow and burrows towards another direction to get out of the way. She wouldn't dare try to peek, even if she was freezing her tail off at this point.]

Of course, even she couldn't work all day, every day. So, when she spotted the odd little girl, she just happened to be perched on the saddle of her chocobo, with a Carbuncle trotting along beside. All she saw was a shadow, and that was likely all Tatlyn saw of her - a much taller shadow, owing to her horsebird. A dangerous shadow, with a hunting hound trotting along beside!
Appearances through snow can, of course, be deceitful.]
Hey out there! Are you okay?!
[Shouted a decidedly small voice. A small, female voice. What is this madness?]
no subject
What in the red-blazing hells is that thing?
[Obviously she means that horse-bird and thing trotting beside.]
And why does it sound like a female?
no subject
'Thing'? That's a fine thing to call someone, now isn't it? Or perhaps you were referring to my chocobo, or my Carbuncle?
[She hops down from the saddle and puts her hands on her hips, cocking her head slightly at the wolf-eared girl.]
You wield magic, but not in a way I've seen before.
no subject
[Not to be rude, but she's never seen a figure smaller than an Elin. Or the giant chicken. Or that fox-weasel thing. She shakes off the snow off her dress, ears and tail.]
You can tell I use magic? And how is it unusual to you? There are thousands of saintly magic users like me.
[It must be frustrating for Elins to not know something, having generations of knowledge passed on from one life to the next.]
no subject
[Aes tsks lightly, giving the wolfgirl a quick look-over.]
Soaked to the bone and half frozen. Not that it's surprising in this weather, what with normal fire having lost its mind and all. I've a few fire shards to spare, but they're back at the shop; do you mind coming with me, or am I going to have to slog all the way there and back to keep you from freezing to death?
no subject
[That's new to her. Not surprising since she's already well aware that everything's going to be new here.
It would take longer to go back to Fairy Haven, so Tatlyn may as well accept the offer.]
Well... I guess you're going to have to kidnap me.
no subject
[She smiles briefly at the kidnapping bit.]
Just long enough to get you warmed up, dried out, and fed, I assure you. Have you ever ridden... well, anything with a saddle? My chocobo isn't all that large, but should be able to carry us both a little ways.
no subject
Saddle? Yeah, I have. I just need to, uh...
[She's figdeting in place, but the snow won't make it easy for her to jump up.]
no subject
You'll have to ride pillion, I'm afraid - you're taller than I am, and your tail will make riding in front uncomfortable at best for both of us.
[If she accepts the hand up, Tatlyn will find that the tiny potato is strong out of all proportion to her physical size. She's also left the stirrups empty, so the wolfgirl can use those to aid in her climb.]
no subject
Tatlyn managed to get to a spot where she can reach for the hand. And with both a pull and a hop, she launched herself onto the saddle behind Aeslyn.]
Easy-peasy. I'm ready to go.

Aes's house turns out to be a rather simple affair; she built it herself, after all. The ceilings are high enough for a human to not bonk their head, but not by much. It's a good thing she doesn't use ceiling fans. All the furniture is sized for a Lalafell, which means it's just slightly smaller than Tatlyn will probably prefer... but at least she won't feel like she's sitting on a chair meant for giants.
Most importantly for the purposes of the narrative is a 'fireplace' that seems to be stuffed with red, glowing crystal clusters. They're giving off a pleasant heat that fills the house, but the pile of dull, gray crystals beside the fireplace will attest to the fact that it's taking some doing.]
Make yourself at home. Dinner will be ready in a few minutes; I left a pot of stew on before I went out.
no subject
She looked around the home. Simple indeed, like her old room at the church. All she could think about was how it needed some plants and other decor to emulate a forest, but shedding some dog hair will have to do.
The hot glowing crystals were indeed interesting, but she wonders if they were safe to the touch? She wasn't going to try that as she took her pink backpack off and plopped down near the fire crystals. She might as well utilize an outfit from the bag since she's wet from the snow.]
While you work on that, got anywhere where I can change?
no subject
[While Tatlyn goes about changing, Aes will set the table. There's two of everything already, thankfully, so she doesn't need to dash off a second set of flatware or anything. Not that she couldn't manage that in the time it takes Tatlyn to change, but most people tend to find eating with red-hot utensils a bit of a trial. And yes - the crystals are indeed safe to touch.]

[Tatlyn grabs two pieces from the bag and goes about finding the room where she'll hide away and change clothes in. It takes a bit of careful precision to thread her tail through holes in clothes made for Elins, but she is a pro at this. It'd be awfully sad otherwise.
Tatlyn emerges dressed in exercise clothes, a simple tee-shirt and shorts. Not the most ideal for a guest to wear, but it should do with drying off. Oh, and for once, she actually undid her twintails to let her hair hang loosely.
She comes back to her bag and drape her school dress over it so it can be dried off by the fire crystals. Now that she made herself at home, she checks on the table preparations.]
There we go... I don't want to impose for too long. I'll need to get back to Fairy Tail before nightfall.
no subject
It's simple fare, but it'll fill and warm you. There's pie for dessert, too.
['Simple' as described by a woman who's won multiple national-level cooking competitions. It's a stew that's the very essence of comfort food for cold days. There are even a pair of fresh, hot bread loaves to go with it.]
no subject
I'm a wolf, after all.
[Tatlyn may as well be able to sniff out the culinary expertise in the stew itself.]
Is it ready?
no subject
[Growing up in an orphanage taught Aes one lesson; you take good food where you can get it, and don't fuss about the table manners unless you have to. It doesn't take her long to put deed to words.]
