[closed] Bringing the Family together
Who: Anakin Skywalker, Padmé Amidala & Ahsoka Tano
Where: Nova - Heavens Court Apartments - Anakin and Padmé's apartment
When: January 16th
It was strange how having loved ones around could change Anakin's feelings about being stuck on this planet - In this very city. But Padmé was with him again and now also Ahsoka had shown up and he practically grinned as he showed her to the apartment he had picked for himself and his wife.
Not that Ahsoka knew of that particular detail. Even if a part of him really wanted to let her know. The same part had always wanted to let Obi-Wan know and he still missed his own former teacher while at the same time being painfully aware that he would be in for some lecturing if the Jedi Master were with them and found out.
So for now it was just them. Padmé, Ahsoka and him. With Padmé not even having met his past student yet, they would be introduced all over again.
Opening the door to the apartment, that at least to a degree gave the feeling of being on Coruscant, Anakin stepped inside, knowing that Ahsoka would follow.
"Padmé?" he called out "I'm back. And I brought someone with me you might want to meet!"

She was there in the kitchen when she heard the door open, and she paused, listening. Not that she expected some stranger to come waltzing in, but it wasn't until she heard Anakin's voice that she did put her glass down and move towards where he was. She might have been a bit more forward, but when he said he had brought someone that she might want to meet, she put a public face on.
Moving down the hallway, Padmé came face to face with Anakin, and Ahsoka. Having spoken to the Togruta, she had found out that she had been Anakin's padawan, and Anakin had confirmed the same. It seemed that there were more and more coming from their galaxy to this place. With a smile in their direction, she gave a greeting, as she did desire to know more about this girl. "Hello."

She followed behind her old master as usual, and when her eyes met Padmé's, she gave the other woman a warm smile. It must have been difficult for her, to have a stranger show up out of nowhere and somehow know you like a close friend. With all that in mind, she wanted to make a good first impression, even if they had already talked beforehand.
"I'm Ahsoka Tano. It's nice to meet you. Again. Although... I think you already know all that, right? But I figured I'd let Anakin still feel at least a little responsible for this whole introduction thing."

It brightened his smile notably just to see her and it was all he could do to clasp his hands together to keep himself from stepping forward and embrace her right there and then.
Instead he took just half a step forward and to the side so he could face them both by turning halfway around.
"Ahsoka used to be my Padawan. Even if sometimes she seemed to try and teach me. I also vividly remember the two of you seeking your own trouble together at times." And while he cast a glance at Ahsoka, there was a small smirk for the both of them.
Then he gestured towards the living area of the apartment "Let's sit down, shall we?"

With her focus on Ahsoka and an awareness of Ani, she moved to address her. "Yes. We should allow him to have that."
A little teasing in her voice as her gaze shifted to Anakin. Of course an eyebrow arched ever so when he stated that Ahsoka and her had gotten up to trouble. She never went searching it. It just tended to find her. That was her story, anyway. "No doubt you can tell me about all the trouble that Anakin himself got up to in turn."
That mild expression, but she nodded, making a motion to the sparse living room. There wasn't too much there, yet, given that they had only moved in a short time ago. "Would you like something to drink? Eat? There's a few snacks around."

At Anakin's comment, she rolled her eyes, but knew all too well what he was talking about. There was the time she had helped Padmé learn how to pilot a ship, or the time they snuck onto a Separatist planet or that time with the assassin or- Those conversations were probably better for another time, she thought.
"Oh, there's a lot of that. I mean, when you think of General Anakin Skywalker, the first word that comes to mind is probably trouble. Or Jedi scum, depending on who you're asking and if they decide to say two words instead of one."
Ahsoka took a seat in the living room, waving off Padmé's offers as she sat down. "I'm fine, really, but thank you."
Then she remembered why she was here.
"Anakin, did you- uh, mention..."
The whole her living there with them thing. Knowing her master, she couldn't be sure.

And no one ever wanted Anakin to attempt cooking.
The Jedi followed them into the living area, following their conversation with a smile on his face. Seeing the both of them interact like that, even if it was by making jokes at his expense, it felt like old times again. Like one of those they could spend away from the war and meet with friends and- Well. Secret wives, in some cases.
"It's true." he chimed in from the sideline "I'm the one they call to deal with whatever trouble the Council may have." Anakin finished with a grin, simply twisting the story around.
He sat with the others and looked at Ahsoka when she addressed him, then blinked "Ah, right!" his attention shifted over to Padmé "I offered Ahsoka to stay in one of our spare rooms. I mean, there's plenty of space here, right?"

She had once spoken to him about not growing up too quickly, yet Ahsoka's use so easily of General reminded Padmé yet again of it. There might have been a hint of a twitch on her lips, as she regarded Anakin. He could be quite the politician if he wanted to although that role did tend to be left to her. Following, Padmé moved to take a seat, mindful not to sit too closely to Anakin, and found herself looking to Ahsoka again, wondering what it was that he was to have mentioned. Her gaze did cast toward her husband as he spoke, and she tried to read between the lines there.
"Of course. We only use two of them." A more diplomatic approach as she managed to keep that calmness about her. Did she know? was the question that was written across her face as she sought to catch Anakin's gaze.

And her other guess had been right on the mark, what with Anakin nearly forgetting to tell the senator about the change in living arrangements. The way Padmé noted they only used two seemed a little strange to her because... why did that even need to be said? It's what anyone would assume in this situation, after all.
"I didn't really wanna impose, but at the same time I figure living with me can't be any worse than living with him. I won't get in your way, though. I pretty much just keep to myself."

That aside, though, the young Jedi Knight was happy about Padmé's response. Even if he didn't warn her beforehand. And she received a smile from him in response. One that also confirmed that Ahsoka, in fact, had no idea about them. But that was something they may have to actually talk about before sharing it with anyone.
"See? You now have twice the Jedi protection than before." he exclaimed cheerfully in Padmé's direction. Ahsoka may have left the Order, but she clearly still had her skills.
And he would definitely keep telling everyone that that's all they are: Protectors to a valuable Senator from Naboo. Nothing more, nothing less.

Was it something that they would tell her though? Considering Anakin and her did share a room... A good thing that he hadn't come and decided to give a tour. It might have taken some explaining. "It's no imposition at all. Truly. It's not like either of us have much in the way of possessions, and the place really is big enough."
Padmé did give an eye roll though at Anakin's words. It was hardly like she had gotten in to trouble since her arrival... The fond expression was tempered though, as her gaze flickered back to her husband. "If your padawan is anything like you, it means twice the clutter and twice the work to keep you both in one piece. Although, it seems Ahsoka might have a bit more of a head on her shoulders."
That polite smile tossed his way before a demure look given to Ahsoka. It might take some maneuvering, and clearly her and Anakin needed to have a little talk later about what they would tell Ahsoka, but Padmé had meant what she said. It was no imposition.

She almost wanted to object on the whole twice the clutter and twice the work thing. I'm nothing like him! Her thoughts yelled, though she realized that was far from the truth. She and Anakin had a lot in common, which was part of the reason they were so well-suited to be the other's padawan and master. But at Padmé's conclusion, Ahsoka smiled warmly.
"Thank you. I can at least promise I won't be twice the clutter. Twice the protection, definitely, and twice the work... I think if I say anything about that Anakin will disagree with me," she admitted a bit sheepishly.
From her point of view, she wasn't much trouble, but she was aware her former master had plenty of stories he could share.

His attention flicked to Padmé "Thanks, Padmé." he said, his voice warm "I know I probably should have spoken to you earlier and I promise not to surprise you like this again in the future." He really wanted to reach over and take her hand, pull her into his arms and kiss her right now. Make it up to her somehow and at the same time show her what she meant to him.
But... Well. That would have to wait until later.
The smile on the young Jedi Knight's face got a little more playful as he glanced back at Ahsoka "Snips is a little older from when I last saw her, so I hope she also matured a little. Despite the absence of her teacher."

"Let us hope that I've no need for protection." Clutter she could deal with anyway, or at least she would likely pick things up and move them. Of course she had no idea what Anakin's room at the Temple was like, and knew that they would never live as a normal husband and wife would back home. Even here... Yet there were no Jedi informing her to distance herself from him, that it would be best for the both of them. Her heart was already set, as was her path.
He should know that no thanks was required. It wasn't like it was a hardship. Thankfully she hadn't been doing anything that might require some explanation. Anyway, there was enough room and they didn't need to bunk together. "Well, you only have enough room for one more surprise, before we start to build bunk beds in your room so that you may share..."
She leaned back slightly in her spot, yet still holding a poised posture. "I'd garner that it is more than a little." With a little glance at Anakin that seems to say, just where did she get that? But with a smile at Ahsoka. "Have you settled in fine here? Did you need a hand with anything? Anakin has been here longer, so might know more, but we'd both be happy to help."
