[The feed cuts on, even though there isn't much to see, except a cloud of smoke. The loud scraping of a window opening and then some stumbling and coughing and then the opening of a door and slamming behind him, at least in the hall there isn't any of the strangely coloured smoke.

Peter is coughing and gasping a little bit, looking pale like his senses are completely overloaded.]

Ah... [His voice is hoarse.]

Would anyone mind- [Cough.] if I borrowed their couch for the night?

[What science experiment gone wrong, who said he did that? Nothing out of the ordinary here at all. The feed cuts out.]

I have a couch if you need it kid.

[He pauses.]

What happened exactly?

[Cough, wheeze, just a bit of a rasp in his voice.]

I'd appreciate it, Mr. Rogers.

[He should still be polite.]

I uh, miscalculated a little bit.

Miscalculated?

[He raises an eyebrow at that.

He's going to need more kid.]

I think I reversed the amount, so instead of getting a stable product, I got a bunch of smoke.

[He pauses.]

I was doing chemistry in my room.

Shouldn't you have a lab for that?

[Steve is questioning Peter's methods while trying not to smile.]

Well I have access to a lab, but not for experimenting that's just for making...well stuff I need?

[Super secret spider stuff.]

But, uh, I don't have access otherwise and I don't want to blow up the lab, people might get mad at me.

Ever think of getting a lab for yourself instead of using your room?

[Or a spare room. Steve is fairly sure that these are reasonable options.]

[He shakes his head.]

No, I'm just lucky people let me use their labs for my other stuff. I just have to put up with using my room for now!

Well, if you ever need a couch, mines open.

I can give you a spare key too.

[Steve trusts Peter.]

Is tonight okay? I can't really stay here with that and just, I need to recover? If that makes sense.

[He rubs his chest, yeah breathing hurts a little but he probably shouldn't have inhaled so much smoke, even if he's going to heal on his own.]

Tonight is fine. Head over whenever.

[Steve doesn't mind, after all, he's already offered.]

Thank you! I'm coming!

[He grins, probably by webslinging, honestly, which may or may not be a good idea, remains to be seen.]

[Steve says goodbye, chuckles and then hands up.

Peter is a cute kid and has quickly become endeared to the old solider.]
