[zen, having just woken up from his slumber at the bay, was currently walking around the main streets of genessia. he was confused, surely, but he had also taken time to listen to the hologram and understand just where he was. it was... odd, really, but as long as he thought about this place as just another location- it would be fine, right? he was a traveler after all, what's another place to him?
...
really though, it was truly odd, but he had his head on straight at least. he wasn't about to run amok and demand answers. no no, instead he walked down the streets, his harp at his side as he plucked the strings. he was more like a pied piper at this point, strutting down the walkways and playing music to himself. it was his way of thinking and mulling things over.
ask him about his music, or will you stop and listen?]
B.
[it was yet another moment of him taking a break from whatever he had been doing in genessia, all so he could perform yet again. he wasn't much for big performances, but the least he could do while he was here was try and gauge the people here. time to sing, maybe! so here he was, in the square of genessia, a hand placed over his chest as he began to open his mouth and sing to no one in particular.
song was also a form of coping for him, to remember his home and to remember the notes that his mother taught him. sing strong and true, stay pure of heart, that's what she had told him. and no he isn't looking for coin, but he won't deny some money being passed his way!]

[now having tried and failed many times to set up the camera properly, zen simply had it at arms length, staring into the device. his frown was set, he looked rather annoyed, but he wasn't any of those things. this was just how his face looked okay.]
...I am new here. [off to a good start.] I understand the concept of this realm, as well as what I am meant to do. So... just a question, then. Jobs and the like- do you people enjoy where you work?
[...] You have probably chosen a path that suits your needs and skills, correct? I am just trying to get a good gauge here, since I know some may have a job they do not generally enjoy.
[he's at a loss for what jobs he should be doing.] I have many different skills, ranging from performance to... fighting. I wonder, would any one need a bodyguard?
[NOW THAT MUST BE A NEW KIND OF JOB, RIGHT? he liked that idea. it was personal and also he didn't have to deal with many people. despite being a performer, he preferred to be alone sometimes.]
Ah... and also, my name is Zen'enji. You may call me Zen if you all wish. [okay so he's a charismatic bard but he's also kind of awkward. great.]

I just applied for a job at a teaching position for the time being. I'm a teacher back home. Names Toshinori.
Video
And, do you enjoy it? It is nice to meet you, Toshinori.

I think I'm unemployed?

......what was that? zen tilted his head a bit in thought.] And just what is this... side job?
How can you be unemployed? You have a bounty hunting job and a secretive one. Doesn't this mean you have two jobs? [????]
Re: Video
I walk dogs. Professionally. And technically I guess I'm not unemployed but it's not like I'm passionate about my jobs, y'know?

The melody was an interesting one. Genessia doesn't get many harp players. It had a jumpy and adrenal quality; it made him want to fight. Indeed, he got the impression that Zen was a fighter too. And yet, there was melancholy in it also, and the slow tempo suggested something more somber and thoughtful. He waits until it either stops, Zen notices him, or he catches the song between repetitions. Hopefully his music interpretation is on-point, else what he says next will seem like a nonsensical non-sequitur.]
Have you been in harrowing combat?
no subject
I have. Is it truly that obvious? [he didn't think he was that noticeable!]

Aheh, so my cold read was warm, eh? And did you compose it yourself?

[And that was being honest.]
But I haven't chosen a path that suits my needs or skills really. I have to work from the bottom up here. But that is mostly because of my age and lack of experience to have many skills.

[where he's from, anyone can become anything! with just a lot of hard work, of course.]
And what was your first job?

Nice music. Did you learn to play all by yourself or were you taught?

I was taught. By my mother. [he smiled, faintly.]

People are complicated, annoying and stupid but music isn't like that at all. Music is pure, straight forward and light. Music is a feeling that seeps into, it's easy to understand. Most of the music that Enis is familiar with comes from her computer. She composes and only sings when she's very drunk.
Enis pauses as his song fills her ears, she closes her eyes and she listens.
It's beautiful.
Without meaning to she follows the direction of the song, pausing when she sees, a strange looking man, sitting and playing.]

[Terra's face is a little too close to the screen when she first replies. He can see her lips and the delicate curve of her neck before she pulls the screen out to a more useful distance. Bright eyes focus on the video as she regards the man curiously.]
I don't know if anyone needs a body guard but can you protect people from themselves?
[The voice that accompanies those lovely features is soft and sweet. There is an edge of uncertainty to Terra's continuance.]
Video
Admittedly, I am unsure of that. If someone is causing themselves harm, then I will certainly prevent them from doing so. In that regard, I can protect them.

And then he looks a bit disappointed. Shi is too shy to ask for another song. He's not too eager not to try to hint at it.]
Did you, um... write that song, sir? It was really powerful.
no subject
I did not. I've simply heard it towns and inns around my home. I agree- it is powerful. [he nods.] It is why I enjoy it.
