Partita the First | [Action/Voice]
[Private Action - The Bay]
[She inhaled sharply, her body burning from the overwhelming pain due to the various puncture wounds all throughout. Blood dribbled from the wounds, but the searing pain only confirmed one thing to her: She was alive. In excruciating pain, but alive. There was something else- the bond with her blade had not broken. Even though the very sword bound to her had attempted to kill her- crystallizing the blood in her body and impaling her from the inside out with spikes of blood- it was still there. The Oniken was still bound to her.
What kind of cruelty was the blade up to? Even as she lay bleeding in the pod she had woken up in, the sword was slowly healing the wounds it had caused directly to her. Did it seek to repeat what it had done? To fully make her suffer until her final breath for what she had wrought upon the empire?
No. That didn't make sense. For until she died, the sword would be bound to her, unable to choose a new emperor for Xyliar. It would obviously prefer to kill her swiftly so that it may choose someone in her place. Unlike the Oniken's sister weapons Morgan and Sleipnir, it wouldn't waste any time toying with its host and would simply kill those it deemed a threat to the empire without hesitation.
She lay still with ragged breaths until she was certain that the sword had healed the internal wounds it had inflicted on her. By then, its healing slowed immensely, as if leaving her on her own to deal with the rest. She rose slowly, her vision blurring as she sat up, placing a hand on that strange box that lay atop her chest. Although puzzled, she could not waste time, she would have to see what it held later.]
[Action - Morning; The Bay / Genessia City]
[As she dragged her body through the waters of the Bay, she would feel her right leg give out, causing her to fall into the water below. She shuddered as the chill air swept over her soaked body while she steadily got back to her feet. That box in her hands was wet now, but that was hardly a concern right now.
Her eyes squinted in response to the morning light as she emerged from the Bay. Muttering a curse, she stepped out further, the light shining off her deathly pale skin. The hologram startled her, her muscles painfully tensing in response. If she were in a better condition she would have been quick to attack it whether it meant any harm or not, but she could only tell herself to calm down. She listened to it as best she could, but the sheer pain she was in made it difficult.
Instead, she would carry her wounded body further into the city, blood soaking into the elegant yet tattered dress she wore. She ignored the stares of the citizens, who she assumed were likely staring at the small draconic wings on her back and the long, black spaded tail. Or they might be noticing the amount of blood on her, it was hard to tell.]
[Action/Voice - Night; Schnee Company]
[Somehow, someway, Lachesis had ended up in Genessia City's hospital, but it certainly would not keep her there. Although she was still in pain, the bleeding had stopped and as far as she was concerned, that meant she was well enough to simply leave whether a doctor liked it or not. Not bothering waiting for anyone's approval, she simply left the quickest way she knew how- right out her room's window. Her wings may be far too small for any sort of proper flight, they were at least enough to slow her descent and allow her to safely land on the ground and simply walk away casually from the grounds.
She would end up at the Schnee Company's welcome services building. Although she was unable to take in the information from the hologram at the time, she clearly remembered the "Schnee" name. She would spend much of the night there, reading as much as she could about this new world. This must be why her sword is cooperating with her again- they weren't home, which meant Lachesis was no longer a threat to the Xylian Empire.
It would take some toying with, but she would eventually get the strange device from the box turned on to broadcast her voice, a thick accent that could be best described as possibly Romanian coming over the network. Her voice is weak, but she maintains her refined disposition.]
These "spirits" that this would possesses. How might one seek out to learn more about them? And do not bother telling me to go to the "Schnee Company" as I am already there.
[Always straight to the point. She would pause before asking another question.]
And tell me, are there wyverns in this realm that I may tame? These... carriages, or whatever you may call them, are far too... inelegant.
[Not to mention loud and obnoxious.]

voice;
A wild two-legged not-dragon doesn't exactly scream elegance, nor are they really something for taming unless I'm mistaken. You should get out of the habit of only referring to things you're used to as elegant, particularly since you likely haven't been here for long enough to understand whether or not something is elegant, judging by the fact that you think technology is composed of spirits.
voice;
[Under normal circumstances, such a curt response would get an equally nasty response from Lachesis, but Weiss did have a point. There were going to be things she may be used to that she must dial back.]
This sudden change is quite jarring, I must beg your pardon. If this is the fate I must reside to, then it will take some time to make adjustments.
[She's not entirely sure how people can tolerate cars though.]
My people share a bond with wyverns, as we both of are draconic lineage. A wyvern can be an irreplaceable companion for us.
Where I am certain any wyverns here would be of another lineage in this realm, I am curious if making a companion with one is still possible.
voice;
[ Weiss would have to kill one to make it one of her companions, and she is adamantly against killing dragons if they aren't Grimm. Even Wyverns, since they're certainly similar enough. The perks of being a Fire Nation prince's ex-girlfriend and knowing how reversed dragons can be.
Even if it would be incredibly cool. ]
voice;
My thanks. I will investigate when I am able.
[Last thing she needs to do right now is take a risk with any local wyverns when she has injuries to recover from.]
You are the Lady Schnee, correct? I must extend my gratitude further for your guidance upon arrival. It was of great help.
[Because otherwise she may have been threatening the locals for information, and that wouldn't do any good for anybody.]
[Action - Morning; The Bay / Genessia City]
[Ted's thought about royal assaults were arrested upon finding the bleeding woman sprawled upon the city streets. In a flash his clothes turned from their colorful, bundled hues into a drape of utter black. Pedestrians and passers-by would be all the more anxious at the sudden transformation. Alas, when Ted sprung into action, the background became duller still.]
"Rats!"
[A variety of thin, almost invisible black threads shot out in all directions. Several of them were tending to Lachesis, applying pressure to the wounds, raising limbs above the heart, and so on. Genessia really has the worst timing for these things.]
[Action]
[The woman had mentally cursed when she had stumbled into the street. A misstep and nothing more. It was nothing to concern herself with, even if she would be struggling to get back to her feet. A damnable fate to be sure, but that's what one gets when they anger a power beyond their understanding.
Her train of thought was broken suddenly before she could move to her feet. She would let out a combined hiss of pain and anger, barely able to see whatever it was that appeared to be controlling her limbs.]
Get these tendrils away from me at once!
[On the plus side, she was conscious enough to be angry. On the down side... she was conscious enough to be angry.]
Re: [Action]
Aheh, I know they're ugly, but believe me, death is far uglier!
[That's about all the attention he grants her protests as he waits for Konoka to pick up. A few of the threads were wrapping tourniquets, while others crept and sped off to the nearest hospital. One sought out Konoka especially fast.]
Hello Konoka! We've got a bleeder. Can you please take her?
[Please.]
Re: [Action]
Naturally, the fact that it's Ted concerns her. ]
Ted-han? What's the matter?
Bleeder? Send them in at once! Remember, I'm in Fayren now!
[Action]
Still, her body in such a state, she couldn't exactly put forth the effort to struggle.]
And just what is it that you intend to do?!
Re: [Action]
Apply first aid while securing a more lasting second. Speak less and breathe more, please. Try to remain calm.
[The black thread that could sped towards Konoka's new workplace while he addressed the hurried healer.]
How could I forget? She'll arrive anon. Ping your coordinates, please.
[Just a little longer and the thread would finds its mark, sneaking in under a doorway or some other convenient slit of a portal. Time for the spooky part. The threads relent from their charge while two encircled Lachesis.]
Close your eyes and don't be afraid, all right? All will be dark but for a moment while I transport you over.
[Once the threads made their shape, she'd gently sink into a black hole of their make into a sable abyss, so dark it mattered little whether ones eyes were open or closed. This perhaps unsettling stay would last no more than a few moments before she were deposited--far more gently this time, Konoka!--to her place of work.]
Did you get her? Good, good. All right, let me know if there's aught else I can do.
[The thread stood at attention.]
Re: [Action]
As soon as she stumbled in, Konoka would waste no time leading her to the medical bay. ]
Easy. I'll get you healed up as soon as possible. Don't move too much.
[ These wounds looked recent enough to use her artifact, though they seemed pretty severe enough that they alone wouldn't cover it. Still, she drew up her card and murmured its activation, then immediately got to work sweeping its magic to deal with those punctures. ]
voice;
[That was them, right?]
voice;
[Really, they're referred to as 'cars'? People can't even be bothered to say carriage anymore?]
voice;
[She paused.]
I will probably never use one personally, walking is more fun.
voice;
[Because she will gladly make short work of them and their drivers.]
I would prefer to have the company of a wyvern. But I don't know if I will have that luxury in this place.
voice;
[She tilted her head slightly.]
What is a wyvern anyway?
voice;
[She's silent a moment before letting out a quiet "Hmm." Perhaps she needs to put it in simple terms.]
Creatures that are related to dragons, though they are smaller and considered weaker. They are easier to tell apart from their dragon brethren not just by their size, but their two legs as opposed to a dragon's four.
[......this girl does at least know what a dragon is, right?]
voice;
[Rapunzel only figured to use violence if your being attacked as a form of self-defense.]
Oh, I know what dragons are at least, so they are smaller and stand on two legs instead of four. I think I got it. Thank you.
action; night
So Raine was around the welcome center, looking through something and spoke up only when she felt it was the right time to. All without looking up from what she was reading.]
Wyverns are so last century, didn't you hear?
action;
Perhaps in your century.
[She could go into how wyverns were an important part of her empire's society, but she wasn't going to bother wasting her breath.]
action;
[It was also mostly because their methods of traveling don't involve carriages in the first place. Some of their kind can fly themselves, others can run really fast or in some cases they can just teleport from place to place.
She shrugged slightly.]
Plus they don't actually exist in this world.
action;
[She couldn't figure out what this woman was trying to accomplish, especially with spouting such drivel about eating wyverns. She would sooner rather investigate Fayren to search for wyverns herself by the words of Weiss than to pay any heed to what this other woman was saying.]
action;
[She shrugs, if people want to be stubborn and try and investigate to prove she was, in fact, right, she wasn't going to stop them, it was there own dumb desition in her mind.]
Even if they did exist I'm sure you would have fun having to constantly keep a hand on it just to be able to travel past the archways.
action;
Such a thing is easy for a trained wyvern knight. Not that someone of your intelligence would understand the art of taming them. They can easily read arrogance such as yours.
Now, are you quite finished? I have research to be doing.
action;
[She shrugged slightly moving to lean back for the moment, she soon looked at the book she was looking at.]
But have fun anyway. Knock yourself out.
[Action - Night, prior to Schnee Company arrival, because]
Lowering her camera to see this person with her naked eye with a furrowed expression, Ayame contemplated whether or not she should intervene. It's a tough decision, even now. Back then, she would have just ignored it. But now, she couldn't help her curiosity get the better of her. With a sigh, she teleports to intercept Lachesis, appearing beside the empress with a non-threatening gesture of having her hands raised to her sides ]
Pardon me, miss. But I couldn't help but notice you leaving the hospital in such a manner.
[ She pauses to tilt her head subtly, trying to get a read of this woman ]
Is there something wrong?
[Action]
There is nothing wrong. They simply needn't waste their resources on me any further.
[And she was certainly quite content on not going back. It would be a waste of her time and theirs if she did.]
[Action]
Very well. It's only that, in this world it is considered strange to exit from a window of a hospital unless they are escaping from something, or someone.
[ Ayame wasn't going to assume that Lachesis is a new arrival. Cultural differences can be vast for some people, and it takes longer for them to adjust. For all she knows, Lachesis could have been here for months ]
My name is Ayame. If you're in need of any help, I would be glad to spare my time for you.
[Video]
...I'm curious as to what you consider to be "elegant."
[Voice]
What I would consider it is obviously what the majority I've seen in this place is not.
[But she has only been in Genessia City, perhaps one of the other cities would be more to her tastes. Alas, she must save her intercity travels until she is more rested.
She does eventually glance up from her reading to see the screen of the device on. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what the deal was, but she is more taken aback when she actually sees Qubine.]
You're...
[Video]
[On both accounts.]
This world may be different from what we're used to, but it does have its...elegance.
[It isn't quite how he would describe it, but he's trying to relate to her own terms. He does raise an eye when she reacts to his visage. Is she scared, or fascinated?]
...What about me?
[Voice]
What was relevant was coming to terms with what she was looking at at that very moment. She certainly wasn't scared, nor was she fascinated, but she was very clearly shocked.]
You're... a dragon?
[It wasn't often that she would bother to state the obvious, but when a creature of that caliber was technically before her?]
Forgive my rudeness. It certainly was not directed at you.
[Her demeanor sure seemed to change awfully quick, with her sharp rudeness going to a calm politeness.]
[Video]
[He's still trying to gauge her reaction. Since she seems to be addressing him politely, it doesn't seem like she regards him as a threat. He's too used to different beasts wanting him dead.]
Do you have dragons where you come from?
[Video]
Dragons are all but extinct in my world. All but one were wiped out by the gods out of fear, leaving only the lesser kin such as wyverns and my race unharmed.
[She frowned.]
There is one dragon they were unable to kill and simply sealed him away. I spent many decades trying to undo that seal.
[Video]
...What do gods have to fear from dragons? Our power pales in comparison to the deities in my own world. They created us, and they could destroy us easily...as they have in your world.
I am curious about the one dragon they were unable to kill, though. What was different about that one?
[Video]
[Her lips pursed.]
I do not know what it was about Epyon that had his life spared. Perhaps it may have been his power resembled that of Seiryuu, but everything surrounding the fate of dragons is a mystery to us, as much as it pains me to admit.
action / morning
And fortunately for all parties, Eliot's bleeding heart outweighs any blood lust. When he sees Lachesis, the thought of blood being food is banished in an instant.]
Ma'am, are you okay?! [Clearly not. Look at that blood! And are those wings?
Okay, but first: The blood. He hurries over.] Where do you think you're going like that?
action
I don't know in what situation a person in this condition would be 'okay.'
[She hisses, continuing to take short imbalanced steps forward.]
I'm sure if I knew, I would consider telling you.
[She isn't too pleased about not knowing where she was going, but she wasn't exactly pleased about her weapon trying to kill her either.]
no subject
Just the same: Eliot frowns at that answer. Deciding that he doesn't care about making a relationship with her, just about helping her, he drops some of his friendliness.]
If it's not the hospital, or some place to rest, then you're going to the wrong place.
[Eliot takes another step forward, holding out his hand.] Let me help you walk. You need to save your strength for recovering.
no subject
Now was hardly the time to blow off anyone actually offering her aid. She wasn't sure if she should be suspicious and though she hesitated, she did extend her own hand to accept his aid.]
I don't know where to find a hospital. This realm is unfamiliar.
[Having to accept a stranger's help at all was embarrassing, but it was her only option.]
no subject
[Eliot is probably the worst person to be offering support. He's a vampire who hasn't had human blood since arriving, so he is exceptionally weak and barely functioning himself. He needs to consciously use his limited vampire powers to stand with her weight added.
Not that he's going to let her know this is a struggle. But watching her blood drip is torture, because it reminds him how ridiculous he is.]
I've got you. Lean on me, okay? This'll be harder if you bleed out and faint.
no subject
My wounds are not as severe as they were before, I should be able to remain conscious.
[The wounds were still pretty bad despite her saying that. That's what one gets when they draw the ire of a magic sentient blade.]
If I am to become much of a burden, then I'll carry myself the best I am able.
