It's Time To Say Goodbye

WHO: OPEN
WHAT: The archway to the world of Pokemon is open one last time, so trainers can officially wish their partners farewell. Upon doing so, each trainer will be allowed to keep their favorite. And if tender emotions run very high, there might be a nice surprise for everyone.
WHEN: June 17, 2014 - 7:00 p.m.
WHERE: Attleton - Pokemon Archway

The evening air is still very hot, though the strong winds and slowly setting sun gradually bring the soaring temperatures down to manageable levels. The vast field of grass and wildflowers where the archway once stood is relatively empty, though fragrant.

Then, once the clock hands stand precisely at 7 o'clock p.m., there's a shimmering in the air, and the Archway returns. The air ripples before clearing to reveal the land beyond. Each trainer's group of Pokemon await beyond, standing silently and at attention.

Nurse Joy steps out of the gate and smiles.

"Thank you all for coming to see your friends off! By choosing to be here, you've proved that the bond between you and your Pokemon is strong, and it can never truly be broken as long as you remember the good times you have. Thank you for taking good care of your partners." She bows, hands clasped in front of her.

When she rises, she winks, holding up a finger. "As a reward, you're allowed to keep just one of your team with you. Choose carefully! And don't worry, we'll take good care of the others."

Kairi should have known she would of had to say good bye to them sooner or later, but she found it hard to say goodbye to a friend, unless of course she had hope she would see them again. But this time, she knew that wasn't going to happen and that when they went through that archway, it would be for the last time.

So with a hug to each of her pokemon friends, she place around their necks a little handmade star charm of sorts. "Now don't lose them okay? They are a gift from me to you for doing so well." After she gave the last one, she put on a smile. "Just be good and don't get into trouble you hear?"

Anyone want to interrupt this cute little moment is more than welcome.

Yuna while she didn't want to see her new friends go, she knew that they had to. They were good friends and helped her a lot and she knew like her friends and that special someone, she would never forget them.

"Thank you, for all that you did. Now go, have fun and take care." She gave a nod, standing up straight as she turned around, for now she didn't want to see them go, but knew that she really should.

Karla sat on her knees, doting on her Torchic as she was saying goodbye, stroking its head lightly with her fingers.

"I'll never forget you..." Which was something she didn't say often. But the Torchic's company had been soothing in some ways.

Torchic was her only Pokemon, so at least choosing which to keep would be easy.

"She did say we can keep one Pokemon...but you should probably go back home, where you belong. Unless you want to stay with me...?"

She listened, waiting for some sort of answer from the little fiery bird.

Betelguese approached, leering at the cutie in the white uniform. Seriously, this world was filled with hot babes. Betelgeuse loved it! He handed over all but one of his pokeballs. He was more attached than he would want to admit to his Squirtle and was glad his buddy would be staying.

"Here ya go, babes. Don't worry about my little guy. Me and him have become real simpatico, know what I mean? He's a great, little trickster!"

Yuri knew she shouldn't have spent so much time with them. When it was over, it always hurt. Over and over and over again. Even if she didn't spend as much time with these Pokemon as she had with a lot of the other people she'd lost, it still hurt. Honestly, picking just one was asking something impossible since she just always had them all around her, barely even bothering with the Pokeballs. She was the kind of person who thrived on being around others. They weren't partners, they were friends.

"You'd think I'd be used to saying goodbye by now."

Yuri takes a deep breath, then smiles brightly and reaches her fist out for each of the Pokemon to fist bump in its own way. (Some of them didn't exactly have hands or paws, so it was really more of a general bump really.)

"Go kick some ass in your own world, got it? I don't want any of you to go, and there's no way I can pick one of you over the others. That's not fair to anyone, right..? If you guys can decide on your own who gets to stay, then that's fine, but.."

There was no way Yuri could pick. That was pretty impossible, honestly.

Honestly, her two Pokemon were just as grumpy-looking as she was most of the time. Weiss had her hands on her hips as she stared up at Charizard and Fearow, making her look even shorter than normal.

"Charizard, you've been with me longer and with how dangerous things can be here sometimes, I think it'll be safer for everyone if you stay with me. Fearow, it was a pleasure working with you but I'm sure you'll be better off on your own, since we haven't had as long to get to know each other."

That makes sense right? Right. She's known Charizard since he was a little boo. Plus, she always worked better with the elements. It made sense. Still, she'd miss Fearow. Weiss crosses her arms, but the Pokemon understand she's pretty sure.

"Besides, I'm sure we'll run into each other again someday so don't look at me like that!"

Yeah, that Fearow is going to try to peck at her hair affectionately now and she's going to start yelling.

"Bye, Chespin! Good luck!"

Nanana waved with a smile on her face as Chespin went off, leaving the little plant there. She loved both of them but Nanana was more than used to those she knew going in and out of her ghost-life like nothing. It came with being bound to a room, back in her old world.

Her smile faded for a brief moment as she looked to the ground. Loneliness was honestly the worst feeling, especially when someone you care about leaves, but.. she still had Lileep. She looked to the creature with her eyes wide and a neutral expression.

"Let's go. Long goodbyes are a lot harder."

Minako knew which one she would be keeping and some would think that it would be the most obvious and be the one she started off with and you'd be right. While she did want to keep her 'Ami' pokemon, she was just a little too naughty for her to take care of. So fire monkey it would be.

"Alright you guts, you best be good you hear? keep up your training and get stronger and this nice lady will take god care of you." She waved as she watched all but her fire monkey go as she tried to hold back some slight tears. They had been a blast for her and was something different, but now they had to depart and she knew it was hurting.

After all they were like friends to her now.

Renge stood, arms behind her back, staring down all her pokemon she had captured during that month. As she talks she starts to move backwards and forwards along the line.

"Alright you lot, you did good, great even, but now it's time for you to go home and live your life to the fullest." She stands still, turning to face them, looking rather serious.

"But now it's time we said goodbye. It will be tough, I know but it might be for the best, after all we don't have everything you would need here." She said as she glanced at Furfrou who was now by her side.

"It maybe true that one of you is staying, but it doesn't mean that they are my favourite. It's just based on whose easier to take care of." She soon stopped being serious and smiled slightly as she watched as her pokemon turned around and had started to make their way towards the archway for possibly the last time.

[Kodachi cries as she approaches Renge with a Roserade at her side- she's just going to interrupt this tender moment to gush!]

Would you look at that? Would you simply look at that, it is called a Furfrou, is it not? That is simply the most 'potential' pokemon I have ever layed eyes upon!

[She can't help but hug her slightly, she is adorable.]

Why potential in style, of course! If I had known such an interesting pokemon existed, I would have tried to get one myself.. For one to be in your posession, you must be some manner of aristocrat?

[There's a huff of disapproval from her Roserade, and Kodachi giggles.]

Back home I was, here I'm working my way up to being what I once was again. What about you?

[Kodachi was actually half kidding and ready to ridicule the other girl but now that it's confirmed, she'll reel herself back a bit.]

That is the case for me as well, I am heiress of the esteemed Kuno mansion! A situation like this is truly difficult for those of the likes of us, is it not?

[She gives a small nod. It was true that it was hard, but honestly as much as she isn't fond of the idea of working from the ground out, she figures it was a good experience.]

It's difficult, but I think it's good experience for when I manage to get home.

Is that right? Such a hard working girl! And what activities are you currently involved in?

Though as for me... I am afraid I do not have much of a plan of my own, currently I am living with my adorable roomate while I search for work.

[Twitch.. Twitch.. Kodachi considers Renge lucky that they're in such a crowded area or she'd Stun Spore the hell out of her. It's not that she's wrong; but it is infuriating that such words are being directed at herself!

Instead she forces a smile and a laugh.]

[Polite smile and a curtsey seemed like the best idea for now at least.]

Now that my friends are heading off... [She pauses to looking over and wave at them as they headed off. After a brief moment she gives a frown, she honestly would miss them.]

[The reminder of leaving the pokemon dampers her fuse a bit as well; but she's fully capable of holding grudges. She'll find some way to make that girl pay!]

[He's relieved at hearing he can keep one of his team, but the choice isn't going to be easy. No matter when he caught them or how strong they became, they spent so much time together...they're all his friends.]

...I'm so happy I got to know you guys. [sniffle, he's trying not to cry, he really is, but...] I'll really miss you! I hope you'll be just as happy now that we're not a team anymore!

[He can't help it, he's hugging all of them as best he can. In the back of his mind he's sort of made the decision, but he still feels bad.]

I'm taking Sneako with me...it was hard to choose! But...he was my first one. You guys all helped me so much, don't get me wrong! If I could take every one of you I could!

[Sneako might look a bit smug, but he's gonna miss his friends. Jeb quietly sits back to let them all say goodbye.]

[The Black Rose calls from behind the young man, adorn in a black Kimono and a light frown as she approaches. She's shed enough tears for one day, she thinks!]

Yes, that much is true. It is simply fascinating how the little darlings have won so many of us over in such a short amount of time..

It has been a very interesting exercise, to say the least, Satsuki's journey with Bisharp is one that she won't forget anytime soon, though the lesson from their encounter on the 27th is still in the air. Not to mention after that Bisharp ended up having a pokekid, and now has something more important to protect.

The world of Pokemon is a strange and mysterious one indeed.

So the choice of whom she would keep was simple enough as she couldn't help but grow a bit attached to her gothic pokemon as well. They drink tea together.

Satsuki's speech to the others, as the gothic pokemon stands by her side, is short and sweet. "It has been an interesting journey, and you have all done well." Some more than others, BIDOOF. "While we may never meet again, I expect the lot of you to continue to strive to become stronger than ever!"

She slams her scabbard upon the floor, which is followed by a simultaneous chorus of pokename-chatter of her former team. Once it settles, she nods. "You are dismissed."

It goes without saying that Kodachi isn't very happy.

"It is cruel.. It is far too cruel!" Kodachi protests, as being overdramatic is something she excels in! "All of this time raising these little darlings as my very own, like a mother, and now I must let them go so soon? What a cruel, nay, unforgivable trick!"

"Except for you, Kakuna, I care not if the gods wish to take you."

Kakuna manages a sadface.

"Dear Parasect! I will miss the pollen we've spread upon unsuspecting delinquents.. Gloom, your scent may leave much t be desired, but your use of poison touched me in ways I shall never forget.. Bronzor, my knight in shining armor, your ability to take abuse is truly admirable! Grotle, I will forever miss tending to that magnificent garden upon your back! And Starvia.. I know in my heart your hairstyle will become something most magnificent."

Kodachi dabs at her eyes with a kerchief, "Why, I ask, why?? Why must you take my babies from me?? Why not take Kakuna instead???"

Kakuna sadfaces harder.
