Excuse me.

I have a small request I would like to make, if anyone is willing to render assistance.

As things stand right now, I'm somewhat er... incapable of moving about the more crowded sections of this world without a significant amount of difficulty.

I'd really prefer not damaging anything.

While I do have the means of creating a more suitable shape, in a sense, for getting around, I'm afraid I'm lacking in the correct tools, and I don't believe I can accomplish the appropriate upgrades on my own. The sections that require the most work are far too small and delicate for me to attend to myself...

If anyone here is accomplished in the area of robotics, engineering and general repair-

What kind of tools and reprogramming are we talking about? The tools might be found in Nova City, they're tech is fairly advanced.

Nothing needs reprogramming currently, but the device I use to generate my holoform is badly out of date and damaged by the elements. I... was under ice for er... a while.

I require a new set of focusing lens, I need an entirely new series of crystal transmitters, and I'm afraid I haven't seen an update in... Oh my chronometer stopped about five million years after the crash... add a few-

Ah, holos...I'm familiar with those. I'm sure all those parts can be found in Nova, the crystals for sure.

[Kay stops and then looks at Skyfire as if he just told him that another planets was blown up. He has no face but his optics manage to convey the emotion just fine.]

That's a really long time without having your protocols updates. [He's not saying you are ancient Skyfire, but you are ancient.] I'm surprised you are still functional, that's some quality materials.

Ten million years is a bit of time for several species, yes.

I outfitted myself for deep space travel with the possibility in mind that I might not make it to an inhabited and appropriately advanced planet for long stretches of time.

The ice did help preserve things to an extent though, I can't imagine what my situation would be if I'd crashed somewhere warmer and wetter and blacked out.

What did you do all that time? What's your primary function?

My primary function? That seems like a terribly deep question considering the situation... I'll have to think about that.

Oh no, I crashed on a planet of varying climates, up in the poles, during a storm. The force was enough to knock me offline, and the quick accumulation of ice ensured I wouldn't... be returning on my own.

I had arrived with a close colleague of mine, but when I crashed and he was unable to find me or gain a signal, he was forced to return home.

It was assumed I died, so I was told.

It shouldn't be so difficult, all droids have an original purpose: astromechs, protocol droids, medical droids...I'm a KX series enforcer droid.

For... everything, actually. In the local, most commonly used format of measurement, I am approximately forty five feet tall.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with those units of measurement. Compared to the buildings around here, how tall would you stand?

Ah, yes, I can see how that would be...problematic. What sort of upgrades would make it more simple for you to get around? What exactly are you looking for?

I need five focusing lenses, they usually come in a full set, two series of crystal transmitters, and then a full system update of my holoform program. It allows me to transfer my consciousness into a hard light form that can be projected from great distances.

Sadly, I haven't updated any of my systems since I crashed, approximately ah... ten million years ago, if my math is correct.

Ten millions years ago is quite a long time.

(He's dealt with Old Gods, and Titans, and the spawn of all evil. He's not intimidated by 10 million years.)

And I'm afraid I have no idea what any of those things are. A remote image transference I can provide, but it wouldn't be able to interact with anything. It would just be that: a projection. That is what you're describing, right?

It doesn't feel quite as long when you're frozen for all of it. Very easy to miss.

Not quite, Cybertronian technology allows for a hologram that is capable of acting as a solid.

Hard light. I am aware that earth technology is a little behind us.

But I'm afraid without my holoform, I can't interact on a personal level with anyone here, I'm far, far too large.

Well, I have no supplies or...work space to help with your size issue at the moment, but I'm sure I can come up with something.

I can imagine! I'll need to collect some reagents, some of which may be very difficult to come by here, and I may need to acquire some stand-ins for some, but...I think I may have an idea.

No; the configuration is different, and as he studies the image he can start to see how this particular design would be capable of some very interesting tricks. The layout reminds him more of an ES; Dinah, in particular.]

I work as an aerospace engineer for Aster Technologies in Nova City, and I have... quite a bit of experience with both robotics and general repairs.

[Several thousand years' worth. And he's probably one of the few people here who can claim to be older than Skyfire.]

I hate to bother everyone here, but I'm afraid I won't be able to find a Cybertronian medic here, currently.

If you'd like, you can come by the Aster building and I'll meet you outside. You'd probably fit in my hangar, but only just, and I prefer not to force people into uncomfortable positions.

Of course! I've had to make due on many planets with low to no technology present.

It's amazing what a little bit of creativity can accomplish.

Oh yes of course, Cybertron is very... er, was very involved with the planets around it, until recently.

I did! Quite a few of them, actually, I had no idea there were so many people here skilled in robotics.

Considering Nova City, I'm not surprised. That seems to be really advanced.

It's certainly a tricky thing to pull off, I will admit. I'm no medic though, so I am not fully educated on the entire process, just the modifications necessary.

There is always time to learn, even if you might never use it, having an understanding is always a positive thing to have.

I'll help. Building and repairing droids and robots is exactly the kind of work I did growing up. I even do some work on starships. So long as I can find the proper parts and tools here, of course.

[And honestly this kind of work is a lot more interesting than being a security guard. Luke's been a bit bored lately.]

What kinds of modifications did you have in mind?

It will be a bit different than your average droid, I feel I might be a touch more sensitive than most.

I'm looking to repair and update my holoform, it requires the generation of hard light, but my holodeck generator has been damaged due to a few million years of non-use.

Other than simply entropy, it's been submerged in water-ice for the past ten million years, roughly. I cannot tell you an approximate amount, I'm afraid my chronometer was damaged. It endured a high impact crash into the planet I was stranded on as well....

Gotcha. Water damage and age. Well, I guess the best way to know for sure is to take a look, right? You busy?
